Good video, 1 solution to the loot pools being the same is nerfing certain items in ranked but keeping it the same in pubs, for example... the original spiderman Gloves had I think 80 uses in pubs but only 20 in tourneys so they could just balance certain items like grenades ect by doing it this way... that way the loot pool is the same yet its fun for casuals aswell as competitive for ranked game modes. Thoughts?
There's another issue. As a bronze player there are genuine pro level players regularly appearing in the games with building and truck shot skills as good as anything I've seen. Very annoying.
Hey Reisshub, great vid as always. I'm currently top 100 unreal in zero build and maybe for some people it's as sinister as they're smurfing for easier games, but it's actually true that it's not possible to get a game if you're plat3+. Just to clarify, it wasn't always like this... the first 6 days were totally fine.. but once people went back to work and school, the queues became so long there was just no point to play. For 2 days I sat in queues for 30+ mins and couldn't get into games. The only way I could get in was loading into games in Europe but I live on the west coast so it just was no fun being on 150+ ping plus queues were still over 15 minutes. I think most of us in unreal would prefer to face other unreal players, at least that's how I feel, but the reality is that it is impossible to get into games unless you load in with a low ranking player and with the state of zero build pubs being so horrible (some lobbies having 90% bots) I would rather load into ranked with a smurf account just to face real players lol.
Imo, I do want more weapons in the loot pool, especially ARs. Most of the ARs are all decent and wouldn't dilute the loot pool (maybe in early game though)
these videos are great and hopefully get the attention of people at epic, but we have to consider this is the first ever season in fortnite where were shifting from arena to ranked and there's going to probably be many improvements on may 9th (season 3) like hopefully adding siphon because its more comfortable against third parties. and having lets say different mmr like if your gold and play like plat you'll be put in gold/plat lobbies for quicker queues. Same with unreal people wait 10 hours just to queue but with mmr there can be elites or even champions in unreal lobbies and make queue times quicker
one thing i never see anyone talk about is how the ranked rewards affect how people play, i’ve been getting the impression people want to hide and play cowardly just so they can get their 100 damage and then W key to their death
I personally think each game mode should have it's own ranking system. What I mean with this, is for example Courage, he might not be the best mechanical player, but he knows how to fight and collaborate as a team and that's basically what it all comes down to in Battle Royale (for a reason it's called squads). Solo in the other hand, is about skill, a good mindset and thoughtful moves to get the victory or good placement.
1:30 I've been saying that your rank/arena division should be per mode forever! I played Rocket League before and always thought it was weird the game would use the same for solos and team modes. I even think it's weird to use the same hidden SBMM across modes, it's not right that if you play lots of team modes then decide to play solos the game will throw harder lobbies at you based on team game results.

It sounded like you were saying that rocket league also has the "one rank across all modes" and you didn't like that either. I think I understand what you are saying now since rocket league is owned by epic games and has a rank for each individual game mode, but epic games didn't do that for them, psyonix did. Rocket league was already a well established game and had individual ranks for each game mode way before epic bought it, so its not really a valid comparison.
I think unreal should be like radiant in valorant where only a select minority of the top players get to be in it while still having a leaderboard for both unreal and the rank bellow.

Honestly I believe there is no difference in being around platinum to diamond rank this season than to being champs in arena when it was out. You run into a very small proportion of bad players, mostly sweats and once in a while a pro. I got killed by rezon in a diamond lobby :/
Yea, no matter how skilled you were I think the highest someone's placement game was like diamond 2. So, if your an actual diamond you might face pros since they're just starting ranked.

Ranked should only be solo's or duo's. It's a lot harder to carry in duo's unless your teammate is an absolute demon. This way, your rank should reflect your skill level more accurately. Also, the player base won't be so divided between game modes, which will improve que times.
Can we also talk about the insane ammount of lag that is in game, ranked feels like old tournaments and tournaments now feel like an fncs lobby, and the games dont even need to be stacked, a gane with 55 players after 1st zone feels alot of the times the same as a game with 85 players. This just makes ir very hard to actually edit sometimes and having good mechanics is actually worse than having bad ones because with good ones, we try to do edits fast and just end up messing them up and with bad ones you barely make an edit and you can still get away with it because you didnt "complicate" the fight.

You have to give Courage more credit. Courage was Pred in Apex during a season where ranked was not camping BS. And when he was hated on for it, and told he was carried he did solos Bronze to Masters series. He is goated at BR games.

The casual and comp can just have guns work differently Remember when the spider gloves were needed to be like 12 or 15 in comp The loot pool doesn't need to be the same and they don't even need to work the same Thats how you fix that issue
The reason I don’t like the idea about different ranks for each mode is because it feels like a very daunting task for people who can only play an hour or two a day. Having to push 3-4 ranks instead of just one demotivates the average player from trying.

Ever since this style of ranking me out in Fortnite, I have always said that rankings would be perfect if there was a mix of Rocket League comp and Fortnite ranked. Take how to rank up from Fortnite (you can have a great game on RL but lose and still go down in rank, which is very annoying when solo queueing) and mix it with the MMR-style levels from Rocket League. That way, there is no set number of players for each rank, especially high ones, but deranking is still very doable if you lose enough MMR. Zero Build Elite player... queue times are still high (around 5 minutes), and not many people in this rank.
One thing I don't agree with, ranked games should definitely value eliminations higher than placement. A 10 elim #10 place match should give more than a 1 elim #2 - we want to entice players to fight in order to progress through the ranks. A high rank player should be one that consistently wins fights against similarly ranked opponents. This is something to be applied to cups and FNCS as well: simply getting first place in a match shouldn't be as important as winning 33 (!) individual fights against players. Getting 34 eliminations surely shows more skill than a 1 elimination win.
Unfortunately the idea of unranking and not being able to play FNCS cannot work due to the fact that a lot of pros just get to Unreal and stop playing Ranked. The idea of FNCS is to have the best X number of players competing for prizes. Not the casuals who can grind the game all day because they have nothing else to do over summer time and then they take the spot of a pro player that actual has tens of thousands in earnings.
It would still work, they just need to fix the way ranked is played. If they were able to make games stacked, casual grinders would never make it to unreal or even elite
Splatoon 2 back then had a good example of this, when reaching X rank, you could basically fight for bragging rights but when you lose a lot of games, you can de rank to S+. So unreal is basically splatoon 2 X rank except it’s easy and you cannot derank from unreal
im surprised about this, it is incredible how hard it is for me to literally get into gold (making it to gold for like 1 round), it is quite hard for a couple of others too, getting 24 kills and winning a duos match only to go up 17%? its honestly insane that some people are finding it so easy to do it.
i cant even play duos with my friend anymore because our playstyle is very placement based and we try to get picks later in the game. we have had games where we got 2nd place with 7 late game kills and went up 7% but died of spawn and went down 30%. if we play 4 good games, top 5 with a few kills then die once of spawn we end up worse of than where we started and have wasted like 2 hours. solo is similar but not as bad
me and my friend jus hot drop at anvil and get 15 kills of spawn together and then w key for the rest of the game and we drop like 30 kills per game and we got unreal like really fast
I have the same issue, we got 4th place with 6 elims and we gót like 3% up but when we get eliminated in top 10 with zero kills its just a -10%. So annoying and does not make sense, should be fixed like in arena, you got your placement score and your elims score. Thanks for pointing it out
6:14 you get awarded for playing end game with better kills. Theoretically it's a perfect system. You can't camp all game and you can't push right off the start.
For Loot Pools, there is an easy fix. Make 6! Zero Build Pubs Zero Build Ranked Zero Build Comp Build Pubs Build Rank Build Comp That allows some Zero-Build exclusive items which may be underused in Build. It also allows Epic to have their separated Pubs and Comp Loot Pools, while having a sort of mutual loot pool in Ranked not too different from Comp, but enough familiar for casuals.
Actually, the way ranked works is the less people alive, the more points the kill is worth. You can get more points getting 1 kill in 3rd place than 10 kills and dying 90th
I think the tourneys should allow people to join depending on if they are in elite champion or unreal, with your system the ines in unreal can go in fncs, the ones in champ or the next one down can gk in the cash cups etc
I think what should happen is a seperation of balance changes, for example the grenades, keep the nades powerful in pubs but nerf them for ranked. How hard that is idk but i feel it would be worth it to keep casuals and competitive players in
It really seems like creating high quality matches for all players at every rank is nearly impossible. Expecting there to be 100 people within a reasonable skill range of one another queuing into a game (same mode, same region, etc) at any given time just seems unrealistic. I keep dying to Unreal players in ZB and my duo and I are Plat II/I😩it's just so frustrating. I was really excited to play a ranked mode against people similar to my skill level but we keep getting demolished by cracked people that have no business being in our lobbies lmfao. It just seems like they should reduce the # of players in a game. I'd rather be in lobbies of 50 people near my rank than have them widen the skill range a ton just to force 100 people into the lobby 😖
I've been stuck in Platinum 2 since the start of ranked. I'm from Oceania and I've noticed that my best games are when I play solos. However due to not being able to get into solo matches, and having no friends, I play squad fills. However everytime I play fills I end up deranking or rank up a little.
just hot drop and get kills cause oceania cant b that hard for kills there rven though kills early game dont count as much as they do later it still is gonna b the best way to rank up. If u just get 10 kills every game ur gonna rank up decently fast every game
So what your saying is I don't necessarily need to survive until end game everytime to rank up. Cause most of the time, the teammates I get just don't know when to fight and when to go to loot island.
@@itsViPar If u get 15 kills from landing hot drop then die mid game u will still gain points. And I wouldnt look for fights early game just let them come to u and in mid game look for fights u can win, if ur playing squads and u c a duo or a solo try to push them with ur team to get few easy kills. In end game it is probally the easiest to decide what kills to go for, if u dont have great mats or not many heals u need to quiclkly push and get a refresh but if u have a lot of heals and matts then play it out for the late game and not get gready and end up sellinng a good loadout. If you want to go to loot island u need decent matts cause kids love just to crank on top of the house. And if u dont have any slurp u should proabbly try to get to the island first. If u dont have mobility it shouldnt b too much of a problem at loot island cause there is many ways to run with like the pads or zips. Also if u get low and have the spider gloves DONT TRY TO SWING AWAY, it is so easy to get shot out and fall trust it has happend to me. Alr gl man hope i helped
siphon part was so real, the game has been very annoying ever since they removed it from pubs. ended up playing arena even as a semi-casual player because it just makes the game so much better

i would add that higher rank to get benefits in competitive tournaments. So there's an incentive to play rank, because if you put it in points, some players will just ignore it entirely.
Fortnite should have a ranked system similar to Godzilla Battle Line, which is to have a point threshold to rank up, gain an amount of points around a fixed number, and have the ability to derank from the highest rank.
Ranked Fortnite has the same problem as ranked Halo and Rocket League. Smurfs will continue to ruin ranked matches and create a wall for many players who are working their asses off to rank up. Another fix that I think Epic should make to level the ranked field would be increasing the weight of solo matches. Solo matches don’t carry enough weight in ranked modes despite probably being the hardest mode in the entire game.
They also def didn’t make it so people lose and gain the same amount on a team. Sometimes I’ll gain, and my friend will complain about losing or vise versa
This is what I never really got… they have a completely different file for comp, why can’t they keep the item broken for pubs, and nerf the item for comp? Is that more work for them? Or do they have to keep the items the same through game modes?

I don't think it's necessarily easy. It's just that they have such good team communication. I for one, can't get to Unreal, ever since ranked came out, because it's slow, and I get bad teammates. It's good enough the way it is now.
My best personal comparison for ranked is Overwatch. Kinda screwed up and you can do what I do, outplay everyone in both sides, do more than you are required to be called a gg teammate, and lose rank. Here I'm honestly probably only a plat player but I'm working on getting better. So far I've played a lot of build, idk how to build so I don't (side note only cuz I want true solos) get between 0 to 11 kills, top 10 and I rank up a little every time. I'm not complaining but Unreal rank should be mindblowing as far as an achievement and should be unable to be carried to

I find it the opposite of easy especially in C5S1, I go to a small location on the edge of the map to not fight anyone to get placement points and 7 people go to the same area that has 4 chests. Anywhere I go there’s someone who somehow lands on a blue Drumshotgun and I get a grey pistol.
The best way to balance the Epic Games Issues with Casual - Competitive audience is prioritize making people interested in Competitive as a Sport and not a money grab as they did in 2018-19 and spoiled the community with. They work with children and children are hard to please, whatever change they've made in the past - they got a backlash, whatever change they're going to make - they'll get a backlash. Personally, they just need time to figure ranked out and tune whatever needs tuning, I know they can do it, but I also know that they can do bad, 'cause I played this game for entirety of it's existence. I think remerging Casual and Competitive play is a necessary evil and a good thing in a way, even though some will suffer and some won't. You won't see difference in Valorant Casual and Competitive play, they the same, but the Competitive matches are of higher quality. If they figure this out that would've been amazing.
The idea where you switch ranks with an unreal player when you overtake them when ranking up is genius, as it can cause the unreal games have shorter queue times as people need to constantly play to keep their unreal status
I personally wouldn't be a fan of split ranks between game modes as an oce player because of the lack of players making it literally impossible to get a into solo game when you're above platinum.
People would also play more tournament like if placement progress was more substantial then it is currently. You can get too five with a few kills and still lose progress which shouldn’t be possible due to the way tournament scoring is and relies on placement points
I still don’t understand how the points work, because I always hear people say “placement makes me de-rank,” etc, etc, whereas I always have 2-3 kill top 15’s and I’ve never even lost percentage. Maybe the algorithm is more complicated than we thought.
they won't let you derank after getting unreal because of what they experience in rocket league. Smurfing is a huge problem for epic games & they're trying to prohibit that
I have a quick question if we are supposed to grind all 3 modes of duos solos and squads that would be alot of grinding maybe even too much because casual players/ college students dont have that much time to win do this
I think they should make unreal only have 750 players (or less) so it’s actually a competition and have champion have it like how unreal is now and you would need a minimum about of points or you fall out of the rank
Question: what’s the meta way to gather a loot pile that’s floating in water? I never know whether to just swim around atop the water grabbing items or jump up and down while making micro adjustments. Seems like the former is quicker but more risky and the latter safer but takes longer. Which do most pros do?
well its been a year and a half and I think Reisshub from the past would be happier. In an absolute shocking turn of events it seems the epic has addressed literally everything (i think) he mentioned. They are even currently experimenting with different types of siphon each week.
I really don’t understand what the point in changing arena for ranked was, arena was fine but ranked has so many problems. Just add a zero build arena so zero build players can play competitively
after being somewhat involved with Fortnite for the past 6 years, I have realized epic simply does not care about high level players. they only care about the casual player base and getting them to spend money. I understand why they are doing this, but it leads me to believe that simple changes which will drastically improve the competitiveness of the game will not be made. Arena hasnt even had point based matchmaking since C2S2, so i doubt they will care about a better matchmaking system for the new ranked gamemode. I remember back in C1S9 games would have 25+ people on half and half, and go until 4th moving. Everyone was actually competing to get the 300 points for champions league Fortnite could have been a better competitive game that LoL, rocketleague, csgo, etc, and actually appeal to the 16+ year old player base, but they just dont care.
Absolutely. I don’t play much, but I’ve been playing since I was 10, so I’m bound to be decent at the game. The hyper focus on cheap money grabbing colabs completely detracts from the actual game (not to mention that the colabs often worsen the game) and makes it difficult to play. This new ranked mode with that horrific mythic, an overly casual lootpool and no syphon is torture to play, so I don’t play it. If Fortnite had continued on the trajectory they were on back in chapter 1 and early chapter 2, Fortnite would undoubtedly be the best overall game to be released

I'm plat 3 and died to multiple unreal players. Even died to Mappnada (7th in this FNCS).

You have to give Courage more credit. Courage was Pred in Apex during a season where ranked was not camping BS. And when he was hated on for it, and told he was carried he did solos Bronze to Masters series. He is goated at BR games.

The reason I don’t like the idea about different ranks for each mode is because it feels like a very daunting task for people who can only play an hour or two a day. Having to push 3-4 ranks instead of just one demotivates the average player from trying.

Ever since this style of ranking me out in Fortnite, I have always said that rankings would be perfect if there was a mix of Rocket League comp and Fortnite ranked. Take how to rank up from Fortnite (you can have a great game on RL but lose and still go down in rank, which is very annoying when solo queueing) and mix it with the MMR-style levels from Rocket League. That way, there is no set number of players for each rank, especially high ones, but deranking is still very doable if you lose enough MMR.
Zero Build Elite player... queue times are still high (around 5 minutes), and not many people in this rank.

One thing I don't agree with, ranked games should definitely value eliminations higher than placement. A 10 elim #10 place match should give more than a 1 elim #2 - we want to entice players to fight in order to progress through the ranks. A high rank player should be one that consistently wins fights against similarly ranked opponents. This is something to be applied to cups and FNCS as well: simply getting first place in a match shouldn't be as important as winning 33 (!) individual fights against players. Getting 34 eliminations surely shows more skill than a 1 elimination win.
Unfortunately the idea of unranking and not being able to play FNCS cannot work due to the fact that a lot of pros just get to Unreal and stop playing Ranked. The idea of FNCS is to have the best X number of players competing for prizes. Not the casuals who can grind the game all day because they have nothing else to do over summer time and then they take the spot of a pro player that actual has tens of thousands in earnings.

It would still work, they just need to fix the way ranked is played. If they were able to make games stacked, casual grinders would never make it to unreal or even elite
Splatoon 2 back then had a good example of this, when reaching X rank, you could basically fight for bragging rights but when you lose a lot of games, you can de rank to S+. So unreal is basically splatoon 2 X rank except it’s easy and you cannot derank from unreal
im surprised about this, it is incredible how hard it is for me to literally get into gold (making it to gold for like 1 round), it is quite hard for a couple of others too, getting 24 kills and winning a duos match only to go up 17%? its honestly insane that some people are finding it so easy to do it.
I got placed in silver 3 and got to gold in 3 matches. Only one was a win, they were all solos
My problem is that when I drop 18 kills with my duo and the win, we ranked up like 5% but when we died off spawn we lost like 30%
i cant even play duos with my friend anymore because our playstyle is very placement based and we try to get picks later in the game. we have had games where we got 2nd place with 7 late game kills and went up 7% but died of spawn and went down 30%. if we play 4 good games, top 5 with a few kills then die once of spawn we end up worse of than where we started and have wasted like 2 hours. solo is similar but not as bad

me and my friend jus hot drop at anvil and get 15 kills of spawn together and then w key for the rest of the game and we drop like 30 kills per game and we got unreal like really fast
I have the same issue, we got 4th place with 6 elims and we gót like 3% up but when we get eliminated in top 10 with zero kills its just a -10%. So annoying and does not make sense, should be fixed like in arena, you got your placement score and your elims score. Thanks for pointing it out
It’s still an issue in 2024. My whole squad gets 25 kills we place 3rd and I only go up 1%
6:14 you get awarded for playing end game with better kills. Theoretically it's a perfect system. You can't camp all game and you can't push right off the start.
For Loot Pools, there is an easy fix. Make 6!

That allows some Zero-Build exclusive items which may be underused in Build. It also allows Epic to have their separated Pubs and Comp Loot Pools, while having a sort of mutual loot pool in Ranked not too different from Comp, but enough familiar for casuals.
Actually, the way ranked works is the less people alive, the more points the kill is worth. You can get more points getting 1 kill in 3rd place than 10 kills and dying 90th

I think the tourneys should allow people to join depending on if they are in elite champion or unreal, with your system the ines in unreal can go in fncs, the ones in champ or the next one down can gk in the cash cups etc

I think what should happen is a seperation of balance changes, for example the grenades, keep the nades powerful in pubs but nerf them for ranked. How hard that is idk but i feel it would be worth it to keep casuals and competitive players in
It really seems like creating high quality matches for all players at every rank is nearly impossible. Expecting there to be 100 people within a reasonable skill range of one another queuing into a game (same mode, same region, etc) at any given time just seems unrealistic. I keep dying to Unreal players in ZB and my duo and I are Plat II/I😩it's just so frustrating. I was really excited to play a ranked mode against people similar to my skill level but we keep getting demolished by cracked people that have no business being in our lobbies lmfao. It just seems like they should reduce the # of players in a game. I'd rather be in lobbies of 50 people near my rank than have them widen the skill range a ton just to force 100 people into the lobby 😖
I've been stuck in Platinum 2 since the start of ranked. I'm from Oceania and I've noticed that my best games are when I play solos. However due to not being able to get into solo matches, and having no friends, I play squad fills. However everytime I play fills I end up deranking or rank up a little.
just hot drop and get kills cause oceania cant b that hard for kills there rven though kills early game dont count as much as they do later it still is gonna b the best way to rank up. If u just get 10 kills every game ur gonna rank up decently fast every game
So what your saying is I don't necessarily need to survive until end game everytime to rank up. Cause most of the time, the teammates I get just don't know when to fight and when to go to loot island.

@@itsViPar If u get 15 kills from landing hot drop then die mid game u will still gain points. And I wouldnt look for fights early game just let them come to u and in mid game look for fights u can win, if ur playing squads and u c a duo or a solo try to push them with ur team to get few easy kills. In end game it is probally the easiest to decide what kills to go for, if u dont have great mats or not many heals u need to quiclkly push and get a refresh but if u have a lot of heals and matts then play it out for the late game and not get gready and end up sellinng a good loadout. If you want to go to loot island u need decent matts cause kids love just to crank on top of the house. And if u dont have any slurp u should proabbly try to get to the island first. If u dont have mobility it shouldnt b too much of a problem at loot island cause there is many ways to run with like the pads or zips. Also if u get low and have the spider gloves DONT TRY TO SWING AWAY, it is so easy to get shot out and fall trust it has happend to me. Alr gl man hope i helped

i would add that higher rank to get benefits in competitive tournaments. So there's an incentive to play rank, because if you put it in points, some players will just ignore it entirely.
Fortnite should have a ranked system similar to Godzilla Battle Line, which is to have a point threshold to rank up, gain an amount of points around a fixed number, and have the ability to derank from the highest rank.

The server combination to NAC for ranked wouldn’t work, especially for Canadian players getting around 100 ping on central.
Ranked Fortnite has the same problem as ranked Halo and Rocket League. Smurfs will continue to ruin ranked matches and create a wall for many players who are working their asses off to rank up.
Another fix that I think Epic should make to level the ranked field would be increasing the weight of solo matches. Solo matches don’t carry enough weight in ranked modes despite probably being the hardest mode in the entire game.

People think Diamond in League of Legends is the same as Diamond in Fortnite or Apex. Thats what I hate most about these unreliable rank systems.

Fortnite should do what LoL does. Items are balanced and same across the board. Ranked is similar to what you suggest.
I don't think it's necessarily easy. It's just that they have such good team communication. I for one, can't get to Unreal, ever since ranked came out, because it's slow, and I get bad teammates. It's good enough the way it is now.

My best personal comparison for ranked is Overwatch. Kinda screwed up and you can do what I do, outplay everyone in both sides, do more than you are required to be called a gg teammate, and lose rank. Here I'm honestly probably only a plat player but I'm working on getting better. So far I've played a lot of build, idk how to build so I don't (side note only cuz I want true solos) get between 0 to 11 kills, top 10 and I rank up a little every time. I'm not complaining but Unreal rank should be mindblowing as far as an achievement and should be unable to be carried to

How does it work now after the changes?
I find it the opposite of easy especially in C5S1, I go to a small location on the edge of the map to not fight anyone to get placement points and 7 people go to the same area that has 4 chests. Anywhere I go there’s someone who somehow lands on a blue Drumshotgun and I get a grey pistol.
The best way to balance the Epic Games Issues with Casual - Competitive audience is prioritize making people interested in Competitive as a Sport and not a money grab as they did in 2018-19 and spoiled the community with. They work with children and children are hard to please, whatever change they've made in the past - they got a backlash, whatever change they're going to make - they'll get a backlash.
Personally, they just need time to figure ranked out and tune whatever needs tuning, I know they can do it, but I also know that they can do bad, 'cause I played this game for entirety of it's existence.
I think remerging Casual and Competitive play is a necessary evil and a good thing in a way, even though some will suffer and some won't. You won't see difference in Valorant Casual and Competitive play, they the same, but the Competitive matches are of higher quality. If they figure this out that would've been amazing.
mabye you can nerf the collab/op items in comp and ranked so it is still seen just not as annoying for comp players but still fun in pubs
The idea where you switch ranks with an unreal player when you overtake them when ranking up is genius, as it can cause the unreal games have shorter queue times as people need to constantly play to keep their unreal status

Its basically impossible to play ranked on australian servers when you reach plat 1 On ranked zero build, I know from experience.
I mean, I can go into an unranked and whip out 12+ kills, but then I go into a Gold II Ranked lobby and get 0 eliminations. Seems pretty tough to me.
I personally wouldn't be a fan of split ranks between game modes as an oce player because of the lack of players making it literally impossible to get a into solo game when you're above platinum.
People would also play more tournament like if placement progress was more substantial then it is currently. You can get too five with a few kills and still lose progress which shouldn’t be possible due to the way tournament scoring is and relies on placement points
and now in chap 5 snzn 3 it’s impossible to rank up

I still don’t understand how the points work, because I always hear people say “placement makes me de-rank,” etc, etc, whereas I always have 2-3 kill top 15’s and I’ve never even lost percentage. Maybe the algorithm is more complicated than we thought.

You are correct with the bad players but if there’s only 500 people in unreal the queue times will be almost tripled
they won't let you derank after getting unreal because of what they experience in rocket league. Smurfing is a huge problem for epic games & they're trying to prohibit that

Question: what’s the meta way to gather a loot pile that’s floating in water? I never know whether to just swim around atop the water grabbing items or jump up and down while making micro adjustments. Seems like the former is quicker but more risky and the latter safer but takes longer. Which do most pros do?

well its been a year and a half and I think Reisshub from the past would be happier. In an absolute shocking turn of events it seems the epic has addressed literally everything (i think) he mentioned. They are even currently experimenting with different types of siphon each week.

after being somewhat involved with Fortnite for the past 6 years, I have realized epic simply does not care about high level players. they only care about the casual player base and getting them to spend money. I understand why they are doing this, but it leads me to believe that simple changes which will drastically improve the competitiveness of the game will not be made. Arena hasnt even had point based matchmaking since C2S2, so i doubt they will care about a better matchmaking system for the new ranked gamemode. I remember back in C1S9 games would have 25+ people on half and half, and go until 4th moving. Everyone was actually competing to get the 300 points for champions league
Fortnite could have been a better competitive game that LoL, rocketleague, csgo, etc, and actually appeal to the 16+ year old player base, but they just dont care.

Absolutely. I don’t play much, but I’ve been playing since I was 10, so I’m bound to be decent at the game. The hyper focus on cheap money grabbing colabs completely detracts from the actual game (not to mention that the colabs often worsen the game) and makes it difficult to play. This new ranked mode with that horrific mythic, an overly casual lootpool and no syphon is torture to play, so I don’t play it. If Fortnite had continued on the trajectory they were on back in chapter 1 and early chapter 2, Fortnite would undoubtedly be the best overall game to be released
