I met Rob at the 4 Seasons Bora Bora back in 2017 when my wife and I were on our honeymoon. Rob was also on his honeymoon. He and I bs’d for a while at the pool bar buying drinks for each other and told some jokes back and forth. At that point a fleet Navy guy who I became friends with came up to me and asked “do you know who that guy is?!?” And I said yeah, some white dude who tells good jokes. That’s when my buddy told me who he was and idk how I got Rob to do it, but he told us the entire Bin Laden story right there at the pool bar. One of the coolest experiences of my life, to this day! Never forget it.

@@theworstofalltime I’m an honorable guy. If it were a fake story, I really wouldn’t have posted it. Plenty more details I could share that I left out also (name of beer Rob drank “Hinano”, who else was sitting at the bar during the story, the date, etc.). It was a fun experience and a fortunate/lucky situation. Never hung out with Rob again during the trip other than on the return flight back to Papeete where he sat in the row in front of us, and I’m not claiming we’re friends because we’re not.

@@theworstofalltimeThis has to be the worst comment ever made on UA-cam. What is wrong with you. Did someone drop you on your head when you were young?
Can't you tell a true story versus a fake story?
You can easily tell this guy was telling the truth. Heck, you could do a simple Google check to see where if the details check out. Rob and this guy went to the most popular honeymoon destination, period.
Clearly you are looking to put another person down just so you can feel better about yourself. Typical douche move!!

I am a retired Port Authority Police Inspector and Shawn, watching your interview with Rob made me extremally proud of the sacrifices that you men have made for our country. My department lost 37 members of the force on 9/11. I witnessed the devastation and the pain it caused to the families of ALL who gave up their lives that day. As Rob said that the families of those who lost family members will never get closure with the killing of that POS. However it makes one proud that their are men like Rob and you that give all for our country. God Bless you and keep you. Keep on with this pod cast to show America the greatness of the men and women that live and die for us.

anyone that served our nation (veteran) ask yourself this question and reflect on the (proper) answer from your toughest/most challenging time in the military and/or "deployed":
in 2011+; were these personnel fighting (each other/in print and media) over this "trophy" status the core of (the) abyss of our nations (ability) to conduct such an operation then, today and in the future.
from such a "2-prong" operation the overt depth of "look" at me. it was "me" is amazing. it is not "a" free pass (a trident); but it is "earned" (within context).
the "silence" of inertia to complete that mission is not "overt". although mr. o'neil's words "are" overt, actual, and on "video". i am (so) glad it gets him "some" free drinks in domestic/"international" airports.

Because he's a Team Guy he knows how to ask the right questions the right way. Not so what happened he guides the story so we all totally understand. Thats why this story most of us already heard was so much better the details. And you know all the seals on here just feel way more comfortable just sitting there bullshitting with another seal. And I really like the way Shawn will say hold on real quick for the audience and explain what some of the lingo means.

these tip of the "spear" interviews are good. some (not most) but some commucnate the interlecaul/educated process of how they got to where "they" were; and that can assist/help others the same (in any field).
many just yap of "that" mission and this "mission" and there "i" was. always stating they are not revealing sensitive information/missions.
i was in mazar-e-shariff when (DoD) this mission (occurred). towards the end of the year 2011 i met (in a DFAC/eating) in kabul; a detachment of helo/blackhawk mechanics just at that base for a few days.
no there was no "bragging" of there "i" was in this big mission (if they were).
but the E8 stated indirectly about the mission; would "any" of them (operators) would have gotten (bin laden mission/may 2011) to that courtyard if those helos were not in "top" performing condition due to the mechanics/teamwork?
he was correct then as he is "today".; "heroes" are not all in the front line news nor should they be for operational purposes.
if you ask many (oneil) you would think the rigged, fixed, prepped and fueled the helos "themselves" and since it was "about" them and only "them".

When I hear these stories, I'm struck by how humble these men are, and how the stories, as cool as they are, come with an unimaginable emotional burden that only they can understand.
What struck me most was how Rob talks about the humanity. You can see that this is a true story just by watching his emotions when he talks about the children; that can't be faked.

Serious attention to detail, ability to problem solve quickly, a bunch of stuff I don’t know. If shite hits the fan here in America the Ex Special Ops guys are going to be the Tip of the Spear again for the Patriots fighting for our Constitutional Rights and Freedoms. Everybody calls out Halliburton and Cheney. Problem is Cheney and Halliburton could make just as much money without war. Halliburton just filled a niche that they know the war will create. And all companies that rely on government contracts higher people from government, and many of those people circulate back into government. Invading Iraq was something that the CFR folks were pushing for since desert stor. And there are companies that profit more from the war machine than Halliburton did or does.
Seems more like enemies of the petro dollar and global banking will get America, Europe, Israel and the Saudis to resort to military violence

Rob O' Neill is the personification of the US Special Ops soldier. A saying comes to mind we all know after hearing his origin and life story. "The only thing necessary for evil to triumph in the world is that good men do nothing". The night he and seal team 6 bravely took out America's #1 enemy him and the whole team expected to die, and never return home. The story about his fellow soldier acknowledging this likely scenario and asking why anyone should go to sure death his answer made me both proud, patriotic and want to be a better human. We're going for the mom that dropped their children off on 9/11 at school , and went to work in the towers that in a last measure of dignity held her skirt down as she jumped 85 floors to her death, we go for them...wow! For God and Country, Oorah, RN is an American treasure and he and men like him are the reason our American experiment thrives and all second guess messing with America or he citizens.

I can guarantee you this wherever you are if you and your country were in trouble and needed rescuing you'd want the US military above any and all else. Ask the billions around the world if they had to choose one country to rule them all you'd want America and the freedom she provides. You sound like you live in a padded room, safe space where bad things don't happen. That's not the world we live in as much as you'd like to believe it is.
