2021 Ford Bronco G.O.A.T. Modes Explained | Bronco How-To Ep. 3 | The Bronco Nation
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 жов 2024
- The new 2021 Ford Bronco comes with multiple drive modes called G.O.A.T. Modes. Each of these drive modes changes the way the Bronco drives, from adjusting pedal sensitivity, switching four-wheel drive modes, even lowering gearing in the transfer case to decrease tire spin when needed.
Here's a breakdown of each GOAT mode:
01:18 - Normal Mode
The default driving mode on the Ford Bronco is the Normal mode. Two-wheel drive high is the default four-wheel drive mode, and all four-wheel drive modes are selectable.
01:25 - ECO Mode
ECO mode helps deliver maximum fuel efficiency and helps to increase driving range. Two-wheel drive high is the default four-wheel drive mode, and four-wheel drive low is not selectable.
01:36 - Slippery Mode
For less than ideal road conditions such as snow or ice covered roads. This mode can be used for crossing terrain where a firm surface is covered with loose, wet or slippery material. Slippery mode lowers throttle response and optimizes shifting for slippery surfaces. Four-wheel drive high is the default four-wheel drive mode. All four-wheel drive modes are selectable in slippery mode.
02:04 - Mud/Ruts Mode
This mode enhances vehicle performance to traverse muddy, rutted or uneven terrains. Four-wheel drive high is the default four-wheel drive mode. Four-wheel drive low is selectable in mud/rut mode.
02:29 - Sand Mode
For off-road driving on soft, dry sand or deep snow. This mode may help get your vehicle unstuck from deep snow or sand. Four-wheel drive high is the default four-wheel drive mode. Four-wheel drive low is selectable in sand mode.
03:04 - Baja Mode
Baja mode optimizes the throttle control for better response and torque delivery. This is the best mode for Off-road high-speed driving. Four-wheel drive high is the default four-wheel drive mode. Four-wheel drive auto is not selectable in baja mode.
04:24 - Rock Crawl Mode
For off-road driving and optimum rock-climbing ability. Rock crawl mode optimizes the throttle and transmission response to provide you additional control of your vehicle. Four-wheel drive low is the only four-wheel drive mode selectable in rock crawl, the system prompts you to put your vehicle into four-wheel drive low upon selection.

Thanks for correcting the mistake and clarifying the information about the Trail Turn Assist not requiring the 2.7L.
You guys should do a review on all models because everything is focused on the badlands
U mad
As an obx owner I shall explain sport real quick it increases your throttle response giving a quicker acceleration has the rpm go higher for faster acceleration and tightens/stiffens steering
can you guys do a video of how capable a stock base bronco is?
Select Baja Mode but manually switch back to 2nd. Super fun!
I just bough the 2023 Everglades. Would love to see an episode on this model
seeing as this is a reupload, I'll say it again, You should do one of thise when a manual transmission is involved and say what the modes acomplish then as it would seem you lose a lot of usefulness when you get the manual. slight alterations in the fuel maps and maybe the throtal response time seems to be about it really.
Just like I commented, there is a void of information about the manual version. And the ford os going to say “ah well it likes like the manual didn’t have the pick up rate that we projected so were discontinuing it.” I think the whole manual thing was a publicity stunt because the Wrangler comes with a manual for all configurations possible.
FU Ford you got me hyped about a V6 Manual Sasquatch. I might as well go wrangler ‘cuz of you bullwaste. The manual in the bronco is probably some Chinese low quality gearbox as bad as the initial mustang manual.

All this stuff is cool, but I never saw a problem with getting out locking in the front hubs and pulling a lever into four high or low.
Great video. I’ve got the Black Diamond
Awesome! And thank you!!
Wildtrak, for when you want sport mode over rock crawl mode.
Let's be real here no casual bronco owner is going to use that mode often enough to make it worth while. Only a dedicated driver will be using rock crawl mode.
100%. Kills me there's no 'Sport' on a FE.
When will this Bronco reach us with the appropriate pricing? You are too late!
For me, this bronco is amazing.I hope it will be more documented in electronics, water leakage and coherence from the inside and outside. No annoying or provocative sounds.
A final note, I hope to increase the height of the Bronco at least half an inch.
Thank you guys Thank you Ford.Very excited to buy Bronco .
Cant wait to get my Bronco dec 31st of 2021 when Ford actually delivers them after having pushed back orders & delivery for over a year.
Edit: I took delivery dec 3rd. 10months after placing my actual order.
I placed my order July of 2020 and just got mine last week. That's after switching to a soft top to get it quicker.
I am almost positive that some people are going to abuse Baja mode. They will be flying down the interstate on the next snowy day.
Freedom, it's a good thing, if people want to use it, let them. The nanny systems are there for the lawyers, not because of freedom! I love traction control, when I need it, most of the time I don't want traction control, ABS, or any other numbers of nanny systems... I have been trained to drive and to drive well without them; however, I do recognize that in certain circumstances they have tremendous value. I want the option to control and configure my vehicle as I see fit. If that means that people "could" abuse Baja mode, well the responsibility resides with the user and not with Ford to not abuse the technology.
You can press the button once and it will shut it off Stability control. Then you press and hold and it will shut your advanced track off. Manual driving the Bronco and you're in full control of it.
Video is incorrect at 1:50 Eco Mode does allow 4H or 4A to be selected, just no 4L
Kinda upset my wildtrak won’t have rock crawl mode. But will definitely get more use out of sport mode
Hopefully you've gotten a hold of FORSCAN
What were they thinking not having a comprehensive snow/ice/winter mode. Do you know how many Bronco's will actually go rock crawling? How about high speed Baja driving? 1% of people who own these will actually use these modes.
For the people who live in the North East 99% will encounter snow/ice/slush/deep snow conditions. 2/3 of the USA will get some sort of winter weather conditions.
It seems ridiculous not to incorporate a better system than slippery :/
Slippery is plenty. I just got my bronco and I climbed about a mile uphill during a snowstorm. Felt like I was driving on pavement.
@@khristoffersantos5860 what trim you have? Sasquatch?
Awesome video!!
Everyone was apparently hyped at the manual but I don’t see any focus on the part of ford or the 3rd party enthusiast media (car world journalists) on the manual version. Like I have not seen a video on how anything works on the manual.
I’ll ask it again, then. Where’s the video that was teased in Episode 1 about the door removal??!
It will be released later in the series!
@@TheBroncoNation, thanks so much for the reply. Couldn’t be more excited to order our new Bronco, and we’re looking forward to more content about its features. Merry Christmas!
Yea I’m glad they clarified. I remember they said that they posted it but it wasn’t there
Why was this re-uploaded?
So what about a manual trasmission are the goat modes useless?
my takeaway from this is that "goat mode" just switches from 2 or 4 wheel drive, it also locks or unlocks the front and back diffs.
@@jo9432 It also does away with some nanny features that would prevent you from maximizing your fun. For example, you can't run 50+MPH with the front camera going without being in Baja mode, and not all Bronco's will have Baja mode (that's my understanding).
ua-cam.com/video/2eouRyhq9Mg/v-deo.html
I have a GOAT mode that when pressed goes MEEEEEAAAAAAA
I'm buying a base with the stick-shift. The agony of driving an automatic transmission every day would kill me.
Let's get some videos on the manual.
ua-cam.com/video/2eouRyhq9Mg/v-deo.html
Does changing the mode actually change the way it drives from wet to sand does the computer adjust the shocks
Can you change the goat modes on the fly if you have the 4A? Like if it’s raining and then not raining?
The base Bronco has no "mud" mode? Gimme a break. Bring back manual shift transfer cases and manual hubs and lose the electronical thingys.
Does a manual have GOAT? If it does, how does the "push button" assistance help/apply? I could imagine GOAT competing for control with manual operations. Please clarify on this matter. Thank you! 😃👍🏾
ua-cam.com/video/2eouRyhq9Mg/v-deo.html
If you don't have a transfer case with 4A, what does slippery mode use by default - 2H or 4H?
Hi, I just ordered a transfer case controller for my 1990 Bronco, was wondering if in 25+ years, it will be possible to obtain a replacement transfer case controller for the new sasquatch bronco?
Also, I can operate my bronco in 4x4 low on hard dry pavement with no problems.
Not a good idea to operate any vehicle in 4 low on dry pavement, it’s very hard on your rear differential. I’ve seen guys snap axles. If your 3rd member is an open diff, more than likely you won’t ruin it but why chance it 🤔
@@Broncogirl1967 I'm sorry to hear your new bronco will be damaged. :(
So I did an off road event sponsored by Ford about 6 months ago (not off roadeo) and they were showing the mode where you can go into cruise control on low gear in descent. Was that the middle button on the knob where you dial for different GOAT modes? Thdy also showed you can adjust the speed of the cruise control but I forgot which button it was.
Is the one pedal option and trail turn assist available in manual?
subbed at 28k
Judging by the comments it seems I'm not the only one who found this video somewhat less than informative.
Is there a speed limit for Slippery Mode? Can I use it on the Freeway?
YesSiRr!!😎😁😊🔥💯!!
What is 4H, 2H and 4L,, 4A is auto 4wl..Thanks
how do you put the transfer case into neutral for flat towing behind RV ford says this is a feature
On my Ranger, you put it in neutral and engage it from the settings screen.
Wildtrack or Badlands?
So is turn assist and one pedal and trail assist standard if even if you get the basesqautch with 2.7??? Even if its base??
Can you switch off the lockers once you enter baja? As in like, a sport mode?
What I want is to be able to turn the camera's on or off whenever I want! That's what I would like to see. If it isn't included - I am going to bet that it will get hacked eventually.
Yea i was hoping for this "hack" for the Tacoma. "It's off for safety" Yea well they make a Baja Mode for Flat out off-roading but No cant have that camera on going over 15mph!
No snow mode
Can the Bronco go to 2H while still in Baja mode?
THIS.
My money is on badlands anyway, but would be nice as Borrego and octotillo offer both terrains so I would love 2H baja.
Can u get all that in a base
Caniuse slepperymode during rating day?
Yes!
I don’t understand the difference between Sand mode and Baja mode.
Goes
Over
All
Terrain
Can you use 4x4 auto for everyday driving like on the highway? I noticed when I turn into sport mode it turns on 4Auto but I saw a video that you shouldn’t stay in 4Auto?
I have the same question.
Are all of those different mode options only available with the Sasquatch package or on the regular Badlands?
All 7 modes plus Baja are included only with the badlands, wildtrack, and first edition. To get 7 goat modes the lowest trim level would be the Black Diamond. 5 for base, 6 for big bend and outer banks.
@Toasty oh, wow. So many options! My head is swimming!
Go over any type terrain G.O.A.T.T ?
Goes over any terrain
Reupload?
Yeah I guess cause I know I watched this last night
I’m winter you drive 4x4 when on the highway I disagree on don’t drive four wheel drive on the road when weather is bad you should
So, can it quack like a duck?
Man Ford has some screwed up options (on purpose?) Like why can't you have that rear door table on the Badlands? You can add it to the lower models why not the BL? Same with the Marine Vinyl seats Outer Banks Nope! but on a lower tier Black Diamond = Yes.
If Outer Banks ordered with Sasquatch Package, will it get the Baja Mode in it GOAT Modes like the Wild Track ?
Nope. Sasquatch is just 35" tires, and body mods to clear them.
@@RandomStuffGarage619 hmmm, that seems weird, because I am pretty sure that at a minimum you would also get rock-crawl, the locking front differential, and the sway bar disconnect with the Sasquatch package - why would you not get baja mode?
@@mpeugeot you need to read more about what is included in sasquatch package.
The features you described are in the badlands trim level, not a package you can add to any trim.
That's like saying you want the lariat package on an xl f150.
@@RandomStuffGarage619 I understand now, I was misinformed. Thanks for clarifying it. As for the Sasquatch package, what's the point in having the 35" tires, locking front, and the 4.7 gears without the rock crawl mode or sway bar disconnect?
@@mpeugeot you get the 4.7 gear ratio, front and rear locking, high clearance suspension, different fender flares, and 35" tires. And my understanding is the automatic transmission comes with the turn assist.
How do you get the front locking diff and the stabilizer bar disconnect on the Black Diamond?
You upgrade to badlands.
That's the only way.
Unless aftermarket tuning unlocks some features, which would be AWESOME.
Sasquatch package.
@@mpeugeot again, sasquatch is only 35 inch tires with beadlock capable wheels. Stop spreading incorrect information.
*ok it looks like they added front and rear diff locks, which is very recent. But goat modes and swaybar discos are trim dependent, NOT included with squatch.
www.sherwoodford.ca/blog/what-models-have-the-ford-bronco-sasquatch-package/amp/
@@RandomStuffGarage619 I stand corrected, I was provided with incorrect information, and I wasn't attempting to put myself out there as an expert. On Fords website they have the Outer Banks listed as having all sorts of crazy stuff that I know is likely wrong.
@@mpeugeot yeah bud, nothing personal. Info is all wacky. I go on the builder and sasquatch still forces the automatic trans which shouldn't as ford has announced you can get squatch with manual now (as long as you keep the 4 banger).
Clueless female here. What is electronic locking differential? And please break it down Barney style I’m not car savvy at all! Sorry lol
@@g2828cc thank you so much! I reserved a wild trak and am doing all research on it before it’s release.
Wow, way too much. Give my 4high and 4 low, I can do the rest...
You gotta admit, push button diff locks and swaybar disconnect is VERY nice.
I have the e-locker on the rear of my f150 and it's been fantastic.
Unfortunately it unlocks any faster than 30mph lol would be nice if forscan could change that.
When did Jason Segal become a car salesman?
No matter how far technology goes the main idea to go thru any type of terrains comes from animals the experts on the wild
Y'all seriously misspelled wildtrak damn I knew there's bs going on.
I love the Bronco.
All I heard was blah blah blah 4H blah blah blah 4a blah blah blah 4L.
I don't get all the junk goat modes, maybe they do something worth while, besides confuse the driver. What mode do I need to be in to activate which off road controls.....I can't remember, grab the manual while we wait for Ford Sync 99 to boot up.
I assume trail control doesn't even need to be wired.
Hero switches? Really Ford?
I say again. I love the Bronco. Ford made some great decisions. I'm just not big on these.
This laggy screen upsets me☹️☹️
these are pre production models so let's hope those engineers program better scripts in time for production
@@nwgts437 yes, maybe you're right
Wheres the little kid that came up with the term G.O.A.T.? Must have been the winner in an elementary school contest to name it. Ford must be hurting for ideas when they turn to kids to name features on their vehicles.
Its the same little dork that came up with the liberty insurane jingle.
Freaking delayed. Not sure I'm going to wait til 2022
No what are you talking about? 🤨
They don't even know to to spell wildtrak 😂😂
I know this is Ford behind this channel and honestly you guys have done such a shitty job, I see negative comments in all the videos and all I hear from you guys is “we’re listening to our customer” nahhh you’re trying to pitch something most people just want clarification.
DELAYED TILL 2022.
What. No.
This is one of the reasons i wont be buying a bronco. Over complicated, useless bullshit. All you need is a shifter to change from 2 to 4wd and down into low
BLOAT mode
Since your thinker don't work, get a Defender and its all automatic, uses A.I. to sense and adjust
Trail-Control?
That’s cheating.
Learn to drive stick.
All these fancy modes are just gonna make people incapable of judging throttle adjustment for themselves therefore making more idiot drivers
you didn't talk about breaking traction control
Why Ford can't do a decent traction control system? without lockers they don't go anywhere!
