Great whiskey showdown! I really enjoy Irish potstill. In this battle I would go with the Drumshanbo. Definitely agree on the banana. I also get a 'nilla wafer smell and taste. (maybe just a US thing). Basically like a lite vanilla creme brule cookie smell. I sometimes get this with very young whiskies. Cheers!

Definitely a US thing haha but after googling it I’ve learnt something new! Yes definitely that light vanilla is there, a bit wafer/cookie like that’s a good note that you’ve picked up on. I lived in the US for over a year and I never once saw those nilla wafers, I’ve missed out! Thanks for the watch and the comment, really appreciate it

I have not even heard of Drumshanbo! I think I might choose the Teeling from your discription. Bitter sweet with a bit of Pot Still spice. Cheers!

You should, I think you’d like both to be honest but the teeling is really quite good and I wasn’t too keen on it when I first bought it a couple of years ago!

Thank you for the review. I have yet to dive in more in Irish whisky. The ones Ive tried has been quite ok. The ones I've tried are Tullamore Dew, The Irishman Founders Reserve, Teeling Rum Cask, Jameson Black Barrel and Dickies and Writers Tears DE Copper Pot.
I enjoyed most of these except Tullamore Dew Original, wich I thought were little too bitter.
I've looked at Readbreast 12 and 15, but unfortunately the latest increase in price have made them fall on my list.

Out of those I think I like the black barrel and the writers tears the best but oh redbreast is my favourite Irish! 🤫 such a shame they’ve gone up in price in Sweden!

Yes, I agree. Black Barrel is really good, for a 40%. Writers Tears DE was delicious and a good bang for the price.
I'm shure that I would enjoy RB 12 and 15 more, but I cant make myself paying the price for those atm. £60 for the 12yo and £80 for the 15yo. It's not that they're out of my price range, but I rather spend that kind of money on whiskys with more bang for the price.

@PezrulezHaakon 60 for the 12 is too much I agree. You can pick up the 12CS for that in duty free! Although the 15 for £20 more and an extra 6%ABV isn’t the worst considering the 12

      Exactly.
I could consider the 15yo, if I run out of options in that price range. But since theres A LOT of peated, sherry influenced whiskys in that price range, I'll probably reach for those instead.
We don't have the 12yo CS availlable here, and Im not planning on traveling in a forseeable future, so I do think of pulling the trigger on Glenfarclas 105, wich should be a fairly comparable alternative to the RB 12yo CS.🤗

Does anyone else get banana on the Drumshanbo? 😂
