This is one of the best drum videos, and genuinely one of the best UA-cam videos of all time. Seeing the pure joy and passion, this guy has while playing is not only a joy to watch but is also inspiring. Not to mention, the drumming itself is outstanding. Even with a drum pad the groove is impeccable
I can't stop coming back to this exercise! So challenging but also a great exercise for my feet when slowed down. Quality truly stands the test of time!
Marcus is really, really good. He naturally covers the most important part-ENJOY IT! HAVE A GOOD TIME! Wonderful teacher, inspiration and role model for the new ones. Keep up the good work…the Old Drummer.
@Marcus, I’m actually getting back to snare drumming again - after 35 years off. And I couldn’t forget this inspiring video after seeing it last year. This is one of my favorite training sequences! I’m not there yet with the 32nd notes and the diddle combos. But each day I’m seeing a little improvement. Thanks again!
introduced me to a lot of great practical uses for paradiddles :) . also your speed and accuracy is insane. so immaculate. and how relaxed you are on top of all that
38 people, not knowing a thing about drumming and how to accomplish good hands, pressed the thumbs down button. I guess folks just troll You Tube randomly disliking videos. Can you imagine how senseless their lives must be? Great lesson here Marcus, thank you.
@@marcushawkinsmusic I've been using some of my coronavirus-enforced "vacation" time to do Stick Control exercises on the drum pad. Unfortunately they don't sound anything like yours!

Mr. Hawkins, love what you are doing with the Paradiddles. Hope you do the Single with one hand and the Double with the other hand and then add a Triple. This is just Great.
@@marcushawkinsmusic thank you for reply. I played along this paradiddle exercise few times in a row and after that my hands were like feather light. I am glad I've found your videos on YT and just want to say THANK YOU!
You should use match grip rather than traditional grip, because traditional grip can hurt your fingers if you put too much pressure on certain part of them.
