use some plyers pulling it gently while heating it so you don't toast your fingers. Looks great after. I'm looking to make some side panels for my pc desk amp, SA-608, and the tx-1000d under it. Good method / vid.
My buddy is selling an sx 880 and the veneer is rough in some areas. He offered to fix it for a steaper price but i can get it cheap if i could do this myself. Dont look too hard.

Thanks! I find when I use pliers I sometimes just tear it off in chunks...I think it's due to the sharp edges on the pliers.

Not super tricky, but it does take a bit of practice.
Looking to re-veneer my SX-550. Mine has a top casing with veneer on it, yours appears to be black. Did you spray paint yours?
I think some had black painted tops.
What kind of veneer is that do u have a link where to buy it at
I've purchased veneer from a few different sources. Either Amazon or eBay. I believe this was paper-backed veneer from Amazon.
@millervintagehifi3034 do u do repairs for people? I actually have this same model reciever has same problems blowing fuses and outputs being bad
easier and faster to just make solid hardwood end caps...if you have the tools for it that is.
True...
far more expensive!!
