Thanks for the support! And seriously, if you guys need any help related to my triggers or these guns in general, just shoot me an email at keeptinkering@gmail.com, and I will help out however I can.
All my existing triggers work for the G3, but they also require a G2C style trigger spring, as the stock G3 trigger spring is different. I have package deals for $35 that include both a G2C style spring and trigger for the G3.
I bought two of the short throw triggers for my taurus pt140's, awesome, easy to install, and made them feel like a whole new pistol, if i buy another taurus I will definitely be getting the upgrade. Great job and awesome upgrade. Keep up the great work and i will definitely be referring your triggers every chance I get.
Keep Tinkering has the best customer support of a product I have ever experienced! He follows through on responding to emails, gives detailed and concise answers. He deserves your business. Give his quality trigger a chance you will not be disapppointed!
Today I took my Taurus G2C to the range which has the Curve SA/DA short stroke trigger installed thanks to Keep Tinkering! The difference is like night & day. The stock trigger was terrible, it would hang up on reset, had no consistency at all, I hated that trigger. The new trigger is great and now my G2C is enjoyable to shoot. Made all the difference in the world! Taurus should get ahold of Keep Tinkering and use his triggers! One of the biggest reasons I sold my Taurus 709 Slim. I loved that gun but hated its trigger too. Thanks again Keep Tinkering for installing this trigger! If you have the G2C, you need to get one of these triggers!
Man I just got my trigger today, got it put in ,in 15 minutes and I LOVE IT. Posted a video about it. Keep tinkering and keep trucking baby WOOOOOOOOO!!!!
I just installed your new SA / DA trigger on my G2C. I'm absolutely blown away with the improvement over the OEM trigger. Very linear & seems to really smooth it out. Was really happy that the short stroke remained about the same on the reset. Excellent product!
Wow I was looking for something for my 709s on eBay and came across these. Decided to watch the suggested video and seeing all the positive comments about the product and the manufacturer really sold me. Soon as I decide which trigger to go with you'll have a new customer. Y'all stay safe and God bless
Thanks for the support! Just keep in mind Taurus made several variants of the 709 Slim, and probably several 740 variants as well, and at least one of them at a smaller than normal trigger guard. If you have one of these smaller trigger guard versions and install one of my triggers, you may have to sand or file down the bottom of the trigger to clear the smaller trigger guard, then possibly touch up the bottom of the trigger, which a permanent black sharpie marker does pretty decently.
I'm a soon-to-be owner of a G2C .40, and although you put this and a few other videos out years ago obviously they're still relevant and drew my interest after reading reviews and forum posts. Your name kept popping up. Among a few other upgrades I've noted that the stock trigger gets the most attention as far as performance, or lack of. I anticipate that I will be doing at least a few upgrades on my Taurus very shortly after physically receiving it and it looks like a slight curve SAO will be at the top of the order. The G2C is good entry level gun due to price/affordability but I see it as a great gun after swapping available upgraded parts, every bit as good as Glock's or Sig's. Thanks for the videos and for selling quality and dependable products.
Thanks! And I agree they can be fantastic guns. Like many places that sell less expensive products where Taurus falls down compared to other manufacturers is in quality control and some performance oriented things like the trigger. My goal is to both give assistance with trigger performance, and also to help sort out any inconsistencies that may have slipped past the original quality control. Once one of these guns get sorted out it is my experience that they are incredibly reliable and make fantastic firearms.
Just installed the Standard SAO trigger yesterday and shot it today. It's excellent. What a difference! Just watch that little ball in the safety switch - mine escaped and was very hard to find!
Yea, that little bugger likes to escape. I am considering making an escapee parts kit that includes 2 of those balls, along with a takedown spring and takedown pin/plunger.
AWESOMENESS! It’s amazing that Taurus won’t spend a little time on the triggers on this series...it’s the only (almost) thing wrong with it...well, besides the machining tolerances on Taurus metal work. I just ordered a straight one for my G3c. Can’t wait to try it.
Good honest review. My G2C has been a good gun so far. I replaced the front sight with a truglo pipe sight. Also replaced the trigger with the Keep Tinkering trigger. Takes up the long travel & retains the restrike capability. Still has the short & sweet reset. It's been a good, reliable & accurate gun for me.
I'm trying to decide between the shorter pull and losing the restrike capability, or the slightly longer pull and maintaining the gun's original restrike capabilities. Advice?
Hey man I got my pseudo backstrap trigger installed and shot it for the first time the other day and it performed so awesome! My Dad and brother have also shot it, and they also hated the old trigger, and all of us agree it is such a huge improvement! Thank you!
I bought one of your SA/DA triggers last year and love it. As soon as you offer the new rounded face trigger for sale I’ll be picking one of them up for the G2C I bought on Black Friday last year. Keep up the great work!
Ordered mine! Thank you sir. Now to offer colors! Yellow red, or green. UPDATE: It's installed. Took it to the range, it frigging rocks! I highly recommend this trigger. It's what taurus should have done in the first place! I've put the flat face slight curve on my g2s. Both are great but frankly I prefer the standard? Wife shot the g2s and now it's her go to gun now.
My factory trigger isn't too bad now. I made adjustments to the striker guide and rod. Polished the rod and got rid of the rough edges. Also polished the inside of the striker guide. Trigger feels much better. No grit.
@@SwiggOfSauce just go for it man just make sure u got a bright light and a clean table and go slow I taking mine apart last night after ordering it because I'm way to excited to put this thing put in as soon as it arrives she's going in I'm so pumped and I'll make a little review video and put it up in my channel I just wish I had 2 of them so I could leave one trigger stock so I could really show the camera the difference like he does in his videos.. and I'm gonna label every pin I take out cuz to me I think that's gonna be the hardest part is remmeber what pin goes where so I'm just gonna have a few bowls setting out not just one so I can remember where to put them in again make your brother do it for you have him watch this and ask him if he comfortable doing it if not u could probably send then gun to keep tinkering and he might put it In for you.. This is awesome makes me want to buy a G2c ill be making sure to let people on my channel know about this trigger by far the best aftermarket trigger i have seen and there is diffrent styles your doing great keep it up.
@@KeepTinkering no problem man. I love when people take an idea and make it functional especially at the level you have these triggers. You could put them at 50 bucks and they still would sell the price is also very respectable.👍
Good stuff glad you came in the scene from what I’ve read it was much needed, i just ordered slightly curved SA and have a feeling its gonna turn out great! Its awesome to know your from around the area keep up the good work
I'm going to order them one for long fingers and give a go at trying to install it. I didn't know you had a channel but I've seen these triggers on eBay for a while now. Glad to see your online and have a good rapport with your customers 😎
Yep, I have had a UA-cam channel since before I had these up on ebay. If you run into any issues or have any questions, just let mw know and I will gladly help however I can. My direct email is keeptinkering@gmail.com.
I bought 2 of these triggers a few weeks ago on eBay, the slight curve and the pseudo backstrap triggers, one in my g2c and the other in a g2s. They made a world of difference. It doesn’t even feel like the same gun, it’s so much better. My wife and I are more accurate with them, they remove so much of the take up and are very comfortable. They are priced well and I would recommend them to anyone. Thank you bud for your fine work. Keep it up!
Ordered my trigger on the 17th of July, at my house on the 22nd of July. I ordered the new standard sa/da with rounded edges. My take on the trigger 1st... the texture & color are so close to looking like the factory polymer you would think it came from Taurus.. 2nd... the smoothness of the pull is 1000x better imho.. 3rd... the take up now is probably 25% to 30% shorter and the sa reset unbelievably short 3mm .. 4th.. with my other upgrades ive done to my G2C (ss recoil assembly, ss striker guide & springs & tfx pro night sights) Keep tinkering's trigger was the finishing touch to turning my G2C into a great, accurate, flawlessly running 9mm I would & do trust as a edc.
I just got your Psuedo in the mail today...4 days ahead of schedule. It looks awesome, I can't wait to put it in. Now I just need to watch your install video a few more times. Thanks for all your hard work to make things better for us brother 👍☮️
Thanks! Let me know how you like it, and if you run into any issues with the install just shoot me an email at keeptinkering@gmail.com, and I will gladly help out.
@@KeepTinkering I've made many many comments about how much I love your trigger. And how great and detailed your disassembly and installation videos are. Really do appreciate you.
Trigger definitely takes some getting used to. I did some work on mine and the trigger bar. Slicked it up. I got the 32 round extended mag with the glock 33 round spring inside to replace those janky aftermarket ones. Got a new tactical flashlight/strobe light in the mail today. I also color filled the letterings white, and painted the mag base plate & mag sleeve od green. I have a green nc star laser but put it on my S&W M&P sport 2. Looks amazing bro. Thanks for sharing another helpful vid with us 🤘🏼🖤
Yep, these are all 100% designed by me, although there were certainly more than a few ideas tossed my way via customer feedback and requests that made their way into these designs.
Dont forget guys I was able to install one of keep tinkering's triggers in my 709 slim. The only thing I had to do to fit was sand just a little bit on the bottom where it slides next to the trigger guard. It works great too. Just a thought!!
I dont advertise that these work on the 709 slim, because there are at LEAST 4 variants (maybe a lot more) of them all with minor differences. However everyone I have heard back from that has tried one of my triggers in a 709 slim has had it work fine. It sounds like you have one of of the smaller trigger guard variants, which is the only one I KNOW of that needs a minor modification, and as you said that is just shaving a small amount off the bottom to clear the trigger guard.
Bro, you are a genius who is here to deliver us from the commercial terminally crappy!!! PLEEEEEEASE make a replacement trigger for the S&W SW9VE, i have at least two friends who got suckered into buying them and are asking for help. keep up the great work!!!
The stock trigger can "catch" if you pull it sideways and not straight back. For me, I am not concerned about the trigger itself. I don't like the stiction I can feel as it is pulled slowly. I would like it to be silky smooth. I have tried slightly oiling everything I can see that moves but it is still there.
The G2C was my first handgun and EDC. I love that thing except for that trigger and sites. Id like to get a new trigger, stainless striker guide and stainless recoil spring. Thanks for making these videos, I cant wait to put some love back into my G2c.
I tried to like the first iteration of the 111 but the trigger and sights were not for me.Several years later I saw one of your videos on your triggers, and did separate research on sights. I purchased a G2C, early in the year and bought a trigger from you, land sights from lakeside or lake something. This is my favorite 9 milimeter pistols and I love the way it shoots. Thank you for the product, and I will recommend it to anyone who is interested.
Glad you like it! The SAO Pseudo Backstrap is actually my personal favorite as well, opening up that trigger face distance to backstrap REALLY helps my accuracy over the stock trigger.
@@iTsKovxkzR Sorry you are having issues. As is stated in my various adds and in my FAQ on my website my triggers do not work with the stock G3 variant trigger springs and those guns require one of my trigger springs to use any of my triggers. My triggers do work with the stock G2 variant trigger springs, however the stock trigger springs are often barely sufficient, as they not only provide the trigger return, but also provide the sole tension to support the trigger bar, which controls how the trigger bar interacts with the rear sear for firing and reset. So even with the G2 variants I still recommend my stiffer trigger springs as they provide more positive trigger return, and can help make trigger reset more consistent and audible.
@@KeepTinkering Update , installation was a breeze thanks to your video. The pseudo feels really good in the 709. I also have a PT111G2 with the stock trigger. Compared both triggers at the range and there is a big difference. Need to order another trigger for the G2!! Thanks for the awesome product.
@@KeepTinkering Well it took me 2 years too finally order another trigger for the G2. I went with another pseudo. Everything went smooth and the difference is night and day. Thanks again. keep up the great work!
Yea, the stock one on the G2c and earlier guns have several problems with their trigger safety, not the least of which is a butt connection between nylon and steel that has a tendency to fail in cold weather, which is why you see some of them break in half.
Ordered the Standard SA/DA Short Stroke Trigger for my G2S today and cannot wait! From all the reviews, this is the trigger I've been looking for! Thank you!
I'm fairly new to semi-auto handguns. I like everything about my G2C, except the long trigger pull. Which of your triggers do you recommend, if the *only* thing I'd like to change is the trigger pull? SA/DA?
@@maximusmax4557 For the shortest possible trigger travel distance while maintaining the manual safety function I recommend any of my SAO triggers, my SA/DA triggers are shorter than the stock trigger pull length, but slightly longer than the pull length of my SAO triggers, but they do keep the DA/Restrike function of the stock trigger. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Yup u can also get 15,18,20 and 32. Probably more by now. I know there are also +2 and +3 baseplates now for the 15 and 17 round mags. Be careful with adding baseplates without changing the spring, can become unreliable. Like a p226 mag in 20 round flavor (its 18 with a +2 baseplate) just didn't work right for me. Even the extra power Wolff spring everyone suggested doesn't do enough. I had to put both it and the original spring in to get it to function reliably. So 2 springs in 1 magazine. And the extra spring took it down to 18 round capacity due to that, less space under the follower. I plan to try a different spring from a actual 20 round mag or higher from another manufacturer.
I noticed my g2c was doing that it's not super bad but it's doing it & I want to fix it... have you found a way to stop the rattle? that isn't a rubber band fix
I will be ordering several triggers myself. The worst is the .40 g2c. Every one I try has a bad hangup half way back ; but mine is the worst. Sometimes it completely locks the trigger .
Howdy, I love my G3c 40. Would you be interested in making me a custom, curved trigger with a wider surface? Kinda like the S&W, factory, wide, target triggers on their revolvers? Thanks for any info.
If this is already been asked I apologize. What are the advantages and disadvantages of the single action versus double action triggers. I normally ride One in the Chamber with the thumb safety on do I need a double action at that point or a single action better
I just installed the trigger on your far right. I have big hands so the trigger pull is better with the biggest trigger 👍 Trigger pull break and reset is 1000x better
This is a very random question, I just purchased one and was wondering if taking the safety blade out, modifying the trigger on a edc if in an instance that I hope to never happen would that be used against me that safety blade was taken out. Even though there is the manual safety. Any thoughts?
Yep, the SAO Pseudo Backstrap along with my other SAO triggers are the shortest pull you can get on these guns without major reworking. Just keep in mind that some 709 Slims have a smaller trigger guard, so while my triggers will fit, you may have to sand off a small amount off the bottom of the trigger to make them clear the trigger guard on a 709 Slim.
Hello Keep Tinkering, I'm wondering if you plan on expanding your product line. More specifically, what I have in mind is a short-throw forward-set trigger kit for the Smith&Wesson gen 1 Shield 9mm. There are a million gen 1 Shields out there. But as of yet, no one is making a short-throw forward-set trigger kit for them. Thanks!
Just an idea, but seems possible to be able to make an adjustable trigger some way. Just a thought. Maybe some sort of sleeve that goes over the trigger.
@@KeepTinkering forward and rearward. But just one replacement trigger. Kind of a two piece but it's threaded somehow ya know. Just a thought? I'm one of those guys just tries to improve on things. What you've done is great though don't get me wrong.
Have u ever thought about making a flat face trigger without the holes to make it appear more stock looking incase of a seld defence encounter? To not give prosecution and ammo.
Even without the holes the SAO Straight would kinda stands out, if you are looking for a better performing trigger that looks like it could have been stock, my SAO Standard is a good choice.
I just tied my trigger with a good length of string, and small strips of paper tape. Night and day. It's the trigger safety that is hanging occasionally. Tie that closed and the action is predictable, and smooth as silk.
My hands aren’t huge. Average sized. I just want a trigger that is more crisp and has way less travel than the stock trigger. What would you guys recommend?
Sorry I missed this before. All my triggers fit the G3c, just make sure to grab one of the trigger+spring kits, as the stock G3c trigger spring isnt compatible with my trigger.
Thanks for your reply! My hands are big..but not huge i always think that most grips are not deep enough to comfortably get proper finger placement on the trigger. Not sure if i should get the faux backstrap or not
Tom, I would try the Pseudo Backstrap if your hands are even a little above average size, I have had several users that wear medium gloves tell me that the Pseudo Backstrap is their favorite trigger. If you really end up not liking it, we can always do an exchange later.
I think I’m stupid but the kt trigger that makes it single action, instead of double action. Does that mean you have to rack the slide in between each shot?
I have a G2s with someone else's trigger [ for now ] that I don't like. Added spring kits, some polishing and it's...decent. I think I will abandon d/a mode and go with one of your triggers. Question have you ever lost the slide safety mode working on these? Thinking it's missing something as safety don't "click". It will lock the slide but not trigger [ seems scary! ] A spring or ball dent thing maybe?
KT, is there a chance we can see a comparison of the 3 different SA/DA triggers in the trigger guard? More specifically the slight curve/standard. I see the curved all over the place. (Or just pictures?) You showed us the SAO trigger shoes in the video on the bar, but that doesn't show those of whom want to still have the SA/DA capability the trigger positions. If it'd be easier to do this via email, let me know, thanks.
I have 3 of the 4 up on my website, just noticed my SA/DA Standard trigger pictures in the gun are missing, so I will need to fix that. But keep in mind the SA/DA Standard/Slight Curve/Skeletal all come forward the same amount. SA/DA Skeletal: www.keeptinkering.com/product-page/spring-slight-curve-sa-da-short-stroke-trigger-for-taurus-pt111-g2-g2c-g2s-g3 SA/DA Slight Curve: www.keeptinkering.com/product-page/spring-slight-curve-sa-da-short-stroke-trigger-for-taurus-pt111-140-g2-g2c-g2s SA/DA Curve: www.keeptinkering.com/product-page/spring-curve-sa-da-short-stroke-trigger-for-taurus-pt111-g2-g2c
@@KeepTinkering Ohh cool, so the bottom-most point of the triggers all come to exactly the same point? So, the center of the "standard" face trigger actually comes a tiny bit further forward than the "slight curve" design? Also as a result, the "curved" shoe gives the most space in the trigger guard for a gloved finger (if you're a cold weather state resident)? Thanks for the crazy fast reply KT!
@@Emolokz that is probably an optical illusion, the SA/DA Slight Curve, SA/DA Standard, and SA/DA Skeletal are actually almost the same trigger. The Skeletal is a Slight Curve that has been Skeletonized, and the Standard is a Slight Curve with heavily rounded edges and bottom.
hi i bought two of your first slight curve triggers when they first came to market. i was just wondering if you will be looking into the G3 triggers? thanks jim
I do have two styles of SA/DA triggers that are completely flat left to right, but have a curve going top to bottom. My completely flat faced trigger is SAO, as the additional forward travel that restrike requires brings the trigger forward too far in my opinion. I do have one SA/DA Straight prototype that I used to test how viable it was, and it isnt horrible, but I dont like it so I dont sell them. If you want a picture of it to decide for yourself, shoot me an email to keeptinkering@gmail.com.
So now I am anxiously awaiting my new trigger and spring ( I think I somehow bent the spring) ?? don't know how a person could do that it is a tuff little booger. That said I really like you'r videos on the PT111 trigger . Do you think you could do a better and more in depth closeup shot on replacing that spring ?. Thanks
Did you watch this video? ua-cam.com/video/n3iMi9jypYw/v-deo.html I did my best showing the spring change there, but it is pretty difficult to show with my sausage fingers and such a small spring.
My wife's g2c was made early this year 2022 and doesn't have far travel to wall but ridiculous creep from wall to fire which trigger would you recommend to also keep double action and reduce travel? Also not a fan of trigger safety but not a deal breaker.
Any of my SA/DA triggers keep the Double Action. What size gloves does she wear? If you are on the fence with a particular style, or if multiple people may use the gun I recommend the SA/DA Standard, as that one is definitely my best general use trigger. www.keeptinkering.com/product-page/spring-standard-sa-da-short-stroke-trigger-for-taurus-pt111-140-g2-g2c-g2s
Ok so I'm having horrible issue with my trigger it's like the trigger catches cause the safety isn't clearing all the way it's so dang annoying it make sit feel like trigger catching everytime I pull it. But if I push that safety on trigger all the way in it goes back flawless. No grabbing or grinding. Will these triggers fix that
I gotta make some soon, I have new trigger springs, replacement striker springs, have to make a better drop test video.... Is there anything particular you want to see?
@@KeepTinkering awesome cant wait. I was doing a facetime video chat with someone on installing your trigger and I'm embarrassed to say it but I cracked the back stap installing it. damn it now i cant use it it's a trainning tool now
I just installed an s/a trigger in my g3c and when i pull the trigger when its not cocked it is gritty and not smooth. When it is cocked it is smooth like butter. Is this common?
Mike, usually if the SA takeup and break are smooth, but the DA is rough, usually it has something to do with the striker. My suggestion to start with would be to take out the striker and give the channel a good cleaning and oiling, then polish the striker tab/lug on the front side where it interacts with the trigger bar "sear". If that does not sufficiently resolve the issue, shoot me an email to keeptinkering@gmail.com.
Thank you for the reply but I’m not sure how .I was hopeful that you would make another video if possible.By the way I am really enjoying shooting this pistol now, my shooting Accuracy has improved greatly with your trigger ,and now I’m happy with this gun.
@@mikenapolitano4648 I cover striker removal in this video at 13:10: ua-cam.com/video/XB-eJqQ8KXI/v-deo.html so you would just clean out the channel the striker rides in, then polish the face of the striker tab/lug on the side that interacts with the rear sear when you have the striker out. Please let me know if you need any further assistance.
What is the feel difference between the SAO Standard and the SA/DA Standard triggers? Do you get a more tactile reset from one vs the other? Also, how much takeup is there, comparing one to the other of the SAO vs the SA/DA? I'm not super-worried about the restrike. What I'm really looking for is something that FEELS like the DA/Restrike pull of the trigger. I wish the stock trigger was like that and I wouldn't have much of a problem with it because it's just more consistent.
Kirk, when you have one of my triggers correctly installed the SA trigger pull is VERY consistent. As far as the difference goes between my SAO and SA/DA triggers, they are almost identical. Same leverage, same reset, etc, the only real difference is all my SA/DA triggers have about 70% the travel distance of the stock trigger and keep DA/Restrike and all my SAO triggers have a shorter travel of about 55% the travel distance of the stock trigger, but they disable the DA/Restrike function. In practical terms this means my SAO triggers give you a trigger pull length of about 0.3” typically and the SA/DA triggers have a pull length of about 0.4” typically. It is possible to make these guns DAO by removing the rear sear. However the problem is the DA/restrike sear is forward of the main sear, so it doesn’t compress the striker as far as releasing from the main sear does, which means the DA/Restrike function doesn’t hit the round as hard as the primary strike does. In fact, in the testing I have done, if you remove the primary sear and try to only use the DA/Restrike function to fire the gun, with the stock 4-4.5lb striker spring it only hits hard enough to ignite about 30% of good working factory Federal ammo, which have primers that are known to ignite especially easily. I tested this with my G2, G2c, G2s, G3, and then put their main sears back in and tried all the "dud" rounds, and they all fired fine the first strike with the normal SA. Doing the same test with one of my striker springs that is closer to 5.5lbs bumped that up to about 65%. If you wanted to convert to DAO and be able to reliably ignite the majority of commercially available 9mm ammo on the first strike, I am guessing you would want around a 8+lb striker spring, which would substantially increase trigger pull weight.
@@KeepTinkering I have a TH9 and love it. All I changed was the recoil rod and spring from lakelineLLC. 28.00 cant beat it and 2500 rounds with not one problem. Trigger is smooth and crisp
Just bought one of your triggers, can't wait to install and test...a question : which magazine do you have in the gun on the right ? It extends the grip down considerably which looks like it should be more comfortable for big hands....thankyou !
Sadly these do not work in the 24/7 guns, as there are a lot of different varieties of 24/7 guns and they are all different from the PT111 G2/G2c/G3/G3c series of guns.
The Skeletal is a good option. The Standard, Slight Curve, and Skeletal all bring the trigger face forward about 1/4" at break compared to stock, but they are about as far forward as the sock trigger safety when all the way forward, which I feel is a good compromise. So as long as you can reach the front of the stock trigger fairly easily any of those 3 are a good choice. The Curve is about 1/8" back from those 3, so if even reaching the front of the stock trigger feels a bit too far, the Curve is a good choice.
Good job on the pseudo backstrap. Made my g2c so much better. Works flawlessly and looks amazing. Watching again to pick one for the g3 I just picked up. Maybe get another for the wife probably a da/sa for the her. Only thing I would note its (pseudo backstrap) gonna be tight with gloves for me i think, will update when I get a chance to test. if you have fat fingers and want the best reduction and a skeleton, Maybe try the straight skeleton sao. Thats what I'm leaning towards for the g3. If you don't care about skeleton try the heavy curve flavor as seen in the trigger lineup in this video. SA/DA trigger would be nice in the straight skeleton flavor, would probably get the curved sa/da skele for the wife just because there is no straight skele in da/sa.
Yea, absolutely, the Pseudo is great if you have large hands and dont use thick shooting gloves, because expanding that trigger face to backstrap distance just helps so much with people that have medium and larger sized hands. But it does very much limit the room left between the trigger face and inside of the trigger guard. For general use, or if multiple users are going to use the gun, I recommend my SAO Standard, as that seems to work well for just about everyone.
Perry, if you are not sure which model you want, the SAO Standard is a great generic choice. It seems to work well for just about everyone, and it is the trigger I would have put in the gun from the factory if I had been in charge of trigger design. However, if you get one of my triggers and decide you dont like it, just let me know and we can do an exchange. I am very easy going about that stuff.
I wouldnt say they are easy, but it is for sure doable. Here is my walkthrough on the install: ua-cam.com/video/n3iMi9jypYw/v-deo.html and here is the closeup of the trigger spring install, which I consider to usually be the most difficult part: ua-cam.com/video/E0rqzitj2Ho/v-deo.html
I sell my triggers on my website www.keeptinkering.com, here is the video on installing the triggers: ua-cam.com/video/n3iMi9jypYw/v-deo.html&feature=emb_logo , and here is the video closeup on the trigger spring install: ua-cam.com/video/E0rqzitj2Ho/v-deo.html . Please let me know if you have any further questions, either here or by email me directly at keeptinkering@gmail.com.
Are they all the same default position (before you pull) or does the long back strap (the forth one) push the trigger forward more at rest. I want a MUCH shorter trigger pull but I don’t want to have to reach out further for the trigger before firing if that makes sense. Thanks! I’ll definitely be buying one of these from you soon.
I looked around and watched some other videos and answered my original question but, Do you have the medium throw in SA/DA? And do you think you’ll be making the shortest throw version in SA/DA as well?
@@LostLeftyLimb Adding the SA/DA function is what makes the throw longer, so it isn't possible to make an SA/DA trigger that has a throw as short as the SAO triggers. In practical terms this means my SAO triggers give you a trigger pull length of about 0.3” typically and the SA/DA triggers have a pull length of about 0.4” typically, so it just depends if you want to keep the restrike, or if you prefer the slightly shorter pull length. As far as the trigger face to backstrap distance goes, the SA/DA Slight Curve, SA/DA Standard, or SA/DA Skeletal are all in the middle, and are all great choices. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
hi i have a taurus g2 pt111 millennium and will like to upgrade the trigger wish one you recommend me to buy also where can i buy from you and email you or call? also do you sell them in red or gold? thanks
@@edgardG-f7t If you have big hands and long fingers I would suggest the SAO Pseudo Backstrap if you are ok with Single Action Only and dont plan to use thickly padded gloves while shooting. If you do plan to use thick gloves or multiple people will be using the gun an SAO Standard may be a better choice for you, or the SA/DA Standard if you prefer to keep the DA/Restrike.
@@KeepTinkering No problem bud. You seem like an upstanding guy so I'm happy to support. I love my G2C, just wanna spice it up a bit. I think I'm going to go with the flat face trigger. Would you say that one is more or less precise than the slight curve?
All my SAO Triggers function the same way, and travel fistance. They just have different face styles, distances your trigger finger is moved forward at break, and the Straight and Pseudo are skelletonized to bring their mass closer inline with the other models. If you like a completely flat faced trigger, the straight is good, if you like a slight curve up and down but flat left to right the Slight Curve is good, and if you like a more traditional curved and rounded face the Standard is a good choice. So I wouldnt say any are more precise, its all just preference.
so my guess is these triggers will work in my Taurus g3 if I replace the spring? because I notice the spring is different on a g3 then a g2c...cool triggers
So its not as drop safe as it was with the trigger safety. You should make a short stroke SAO with a trigger safety. I dont buy SIGs because they lack a trigger safety. I can deal with no trigger safety as long as theres a thumb safety or grip safety.
Awesome! a whole cannel for my gun upgrades lol Even the fattest trigger looks like it breaks on the same spot. How do I cut the travel distance of the trigger? Also will you be making an sada version of the fattest one?
All my SAO Triggers cut the factory trigger travel distance on a G2C by about 45%, all my SA/DA triggers cut it by about 30%. The SA/DA function triggers require the trigger to come forward further, and since the Straight and Pseudo Backstrap already come pretty close to the trigger guard, it isnt really viable to make those in the SAO style.
No, all the SAO triggers remove the restrike, but quite honestly it isnt that useful. The DA functions on these guns isnt dependable from the factory, it isnt even close.
For tools you can use a few punches, a roll of tape to use as a bench block, a hammer, a couple pairs of pliers and some dental tool type hooks can be handy. I go over the install here: ua-cam.com/video/n3iMi9jypYw/v-deo.html and here I go in depth on the trigger spring install, which I consider to be the hardest part: ua-cam.com/video/E0rqzitj2Ho/v-deo.html
In this video my G2c had the stock trigger, but my older PT111-G2 has a SAO Pseudo Backstrap trigger, which is compatible with the G2c/G3/G3c/etc, and can be found on my website here: www.keeptinkering.com/product-page/spring-pseudo-backstrap-sao-short-stroke-trigger-for-taurus-g2-g2c-g2s-g3

VERY helpful to me when I had an issue with a trigger. Agree.
@@KeepTinkering Will you be making a trigger for the Taurus G3?
All my existing triggers work for the G3, but they also require a G2C style trigger spring, as the stock G3 trigger spring is different. I have package deals for $35 that include both a G2C style spring and trigger for the G3.
I bought two of the short throw triggers for my taurus pt140's, awesome, easy to install, and made them feel like a whole new pistol, if i buy another taurus I will definitely be getting the upgrade. Great job and awesome upgrade. Keep up the great work and i will definitely be referring your triggers every chance I get.
Thanks!
Glad you like it, and you are very welcome!
Man I just got my trigger today, got it put in ,in 15 minutes and I LOVE IT. Posted a video about it. Keep tinkering and keep trucking baby WOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Awesome, thanks for the feedback!

@@christiemaerker6693 Amazing
I just installed your new SA / DA trigger on my G2C.
I'm absolutely blown away with the improvement over the OEM trigger.
Very linear & seems to really smooth it out. Was really happy that the short stroke remained about the same on the reset.
Excellent product!
Thanks, I appreciate the appreciation!
Which trigger did you buy? I have the same gun
Which exact trigger did you get for SA/ DA trigger ?
Pseudo Backstrap is the best upgrade ever for the G2C! I’m in love with this trigger! You are awesome!!!!
Thanks again!
I just got mine not to long ago. Yes the long trigger drives me crazy. I’m definitely going to get one of these
Joey Davis I just installed my new trigger about a week ago. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! The gentleman behind the scenes is awesome.
Thanks, I do REALLY like these guns, with the exception of the triggers.
AA American Locksmith Inc Steve Stegle which trigger did you go with?
@@truthteller2106
The DA/SA trigger, curved.
AA American Locksmith Inc Steve Stegle thank you Sir
I'm trying to decide between the shorter pull and losing the restrike capability, or the slightly longer pull and maintaining the gun's original restrike capabilities. Advice?
Hey man I got my pseudo backstrap trigger installed and shot it for the first time the other day and it performed so awesome! My Dad and brother have also shot it, and they also hated the old trigger, and all of us agree it is such a huge improvement! Thank you!

Keep it up!
Thanks, glad you like them so much!
Ordered my trigger on the 17th of July, at my house on the 22nd of July.
I ordered the new standard sa/da with rounded edges.
My take on the trigger
1st... the texture & color are so close to looking like the factory polymer you would think it came from Taurus..
2nd... the smoothness of the pull is 1000x better imho..
3rd... the take up now is probably 25% to 30% shorter and the sa reset unbelievably short 3mm ..
4th.. with my other upgrades ive done to my G2C (ss recoil assembly, ss striker guide & springs & tfx pro night sights) Keep tinkering's trigger was the finishing touch to turning my G2C into a great, accurate, flawlessly running 9mm I would & do trust as a edc.
Glad you like it!

i did not know you come up with these on your own man cool thanxx for coming out with more accessories for the taurus g2cs and etc
The stock S&W trigger is not better than the stock Taurus trigger?
Just received my trigger and it's awesome! Thanks man!
Awesome, glad you like it!
That is because the stock safety is very poorly designed.
Congrats on the new place and gig
Thanks!
The G2C was my first handgun and EDC. I love that thing except for that trigger and sites. Id like to get a new trigger, stainless striker guide and stainless recoil spring. Thanks for making these videos, I cant wait to put some love back into my G2c.
Thanks, and glad I can be of assistance!
I just ordered your standard SA/DA trigger off of your eBay store for my G2C.
Glad to hear it! I do love these pistols.
I have the setup on the far right and I am completely happy with it.
Glad you like it! The SAO Pseudo Backstrap is actually my personal favorite as well, opening up that trigger face distance to backstrap REALLY helps my accuracy over the stock trigger.
@@KeepTinkering yeah but spring doesn't fit at all and video doesn't really help because of it
@@iTsKovxkzR Sorry you are having issues.
@@KeepTinkering hey your spring does not exactly fit the backstrap curved trigger. And no problem it's in now and I love it I put g2c stock spring in

If a SA only KT trigger is installed, bullet chambered, safety ON.... when you disengage the safety, do you need to re-rack the slide to fire?
Like that pseudo backstrap piece. Trigger safeties as a whole if not done well have tendencies to have that mushy truigger.
Yea, the stock one on the G2c and earlier guns have several problems with their trigger safety, not the least of which is a butt connection between nylon and steel that has a tendency to fail in cold weather, which is why you see some of them break in half.
Gonna order the backstrap on ebay now, excited to see how it feels after install!
Awesome, let me know how it goes!

U are the man. Will be buying as soon as possible.
I'm fairly new to semi-auto handguns. I like everything about my G2C, except the long trigger pull. Which of your triggers do you recommend, if the *only* thing I'd like to change is the trigger pull? SA/DA?
Oop! I *slightly* longer grip/magazine would be nice too!
@@KeepTinkering Thanks for the response! I'm preparing to place an order soon!
@@maximusmax4557 You can get a 17 round mag for a G3. It works. I bought two from Palmetto Armory.
I have the original g2 with the slight curved trigger. It is awesome. Now to fix the mag rattle without having to use rubber bands lol.
Yea, that stock trigger safety can be a real pain.
Great video, looking forward to buying your products soon as I get my hands on my first g2c.
Great, welcome to the club!
I just installed the trigger on your far right. I have big hands so the trigger pull is better with the biggest trigger 👍 Trigger pull break and reset is 1000x better
Awesome, glad you like it! Bringing that trigger face forward can make a surprising amount of difference, especially if you have bigger hands.
This is a very random question, I just purchased one and was wondering if taking the safety blade out, modifying the trigger on a edc if in an instance that I hope to never happen would that be used against me that safety blade was taken out. Even though there is the manual safety. Any thoughts?
I lov the sudo backstrap style... Is that also a short pull? Looking for my PT709 Slim
Adjustable in what way?
Which one is the best for bigger longer fingers I’m 6’5 300 lbs and hate the stock trigger in my gc3

I think I’m stupid but the kt trigger that makes it single action, instead of double action. Does that mean you have to rack the slide in between each shot?
Your videos are so great, thank you.
Thanks, glad you like them!
You probably lost the 2.5 mm ball in the safety. Easy to lose. A pack of 10 on eBay are less than 5 bucks, shipping included if you look.

The Skeletal is a Slight Curve that has been Skeletonized, and the Standard is a Slight Curve with heavily rounded edges and bottom.
hi i bought two of your first slight curve triggers when they first came to market.
i was just wondering if you will be looking into the G3 triggers? thanks jim
Yep, I plan to. I have just been waiting for the G3s to become more available so I can get my hands on one.
Você faz envio para o Brasil? Possuo uma g3 t.o.r.o e não gosto do longo curso do gatilho dela.
Desculpe, devido às leis de exportação dos EUA, não tenho permissão para enviá-los para endereços fora dos EUA.
Looking for a metal flat faced trigger like the Apex in my M&Ps to go in my G2Cs that will still allow second strike.
Color options would be awesome
Will these triggers fix that
Yes, because they delete the very poorly designed stock trigger safety on the G2 series of guns.
Is there any way to get the gx4 to have re-strike?
When are we gonna see some new videos
I gotta make some soon, I have new trigger springs, replacement striker springs, have to make a better drop test video.... Is there anything particular you want to see?
@@KeepTinkering awesome cant wait. I was doing a facetime video chat with someone on installing your trigger and I'm embarrassed to say it but I cracked the back stap installing it. damn it now i cant use it it's a trainning tool now
Shoot me an email to keeptinkering@gmail.com with the name it was ordered under and I will send you a replacement.
@@KeepTinkering all set I sent it to you thank you so much
No problem, I will get you a replacement on the way by tomorrow morning.
Cannot stand the spongy g2 and g3 series triggers. What trigger of yours should I get for my G3X?
Any suggestions for the roll pin walking?
A drop of red Loctite usually does the trick.
I like my G3C for the money and reliability too just right for me
I just installed an s/a trigger in my g3c and when i pull the trigger when its not cocked it is gritty and not smooth.
Great info., thinking about ( buying double action / decocker compact model( TH9) but worried about trigger pull. Thanx. Pete S.
I have not had a chance to try one personally, but from what I have heard the TH9 has a pretty nice trigger from the factory.
@@KeepTinkering I have a TH9 and love it. All I changed was the recoil rod and spring from lakelineLLC. 28.00 cant beat it and 2500 rounds with not one problem. Trigger is smooth and crisp
I just ordered the pseudo back strap… is that the best for shortening the pull?
Any of my SAO trigger shorten it by the same amount, so yes they are all the best for shortening the pull.
Just bought one of your triggers, can't wait to install and test...a question : which magazine do you have in the gun on the right ? It extends the grip down considerably which looks like it should be more comfortable for big hands....thankyou !
That is a Mecgar mag for a Sig P226. The spacer is a slightly modified Xgrip style adapter for an M&P 9mm/40.
Will any of these work for the da/sa taurus pt24/7 g2. I hate the trigger on it gotta pull it with the 1 ton diesel
Sadly these do not work in the 24/7 guns, as there are a lot of different varieties of 24/7 guns and they are all different from the PT111 G2/G2c/G3/G3c series of guns.
I like those skeletons. What would you recommend someone who doesn’t have “long fingers”? Lol. I’m looking for a reduced poundage and reduced take up.
Does anyone know what magazine and mazine sleeve that is?
I have the G2 C and the trigger is long. Im trusting you to tell me which trigger to buy.. Thank you
Perry, if you are not sure which model you want, the SAO Standard is a great generic choice. It seems to work well for just about everyone, and it is the trigger I would have put in the gun from the factory if I had been in charge of trigger design. However, if you get one of my triggers and decide you dont like it, just let me know and we can do an exchange. I am very easy going about that stuff.
@@KeepTinkering ok what does it cost
They cost $30 for the trigger, or $35 for the trigger and trigger spring at www.keeptinkering.com
@@KeepTinkering Are they easy to install
I wouldnt say they are easy, but it is for sure doable. Here is my walkthrough on the install: ua-cam.com/video/n3iMi9jypYw/v-deo.html and here is the closeup of the trigger spring install, which I consider to usually be the most difficult part: ua-cam.com/video/E0rqzitj2Ho/v-deo.html
I have a G2 and I dont like the trigger and how do I fix it.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
hi i have a taurus g2 pt111 millennium and will like to upgrade the trigger wish one you recommend me to buy also where can i buy from you and email you or call? also do you sell them in red or gold? thanks
also i got big hand and long fingers
@@edgardG-f7t If you have big hands and long fingers I would suggest the SAO Pseudo Backstrap if you are ok with Single Action Only and dont plan to use thickly padded gloves while shooting. If you do plan to use thick gloves or multiple people will be using the gun an SAO Standard may be a better choice for you, or the SA/DA Standard if you prefer to keep the DA/Restrike.

Thanks for the support!
Good deal. Thanks bud. Looks like It’ll be the Straight flat face for me.
I would like to purchase a trigger for my Taurus g2c
I have these for sale on my website: www.keeptinkering.com
so my guess is these triggers will work in my Taurus g3 if I replace the spring? because I notice the spring is different on a g3 then a g2c...cool triggers
Yep, I have $35 packages specifically for the G3 that include a trigger and G2C style trigger spring.
@@KeepTinkering yea I seen your store on ebay will order on Friday thanks
Does this trigger eliminate the the trigger safety? I mean it's obvious but I haven't seen it mentioned here once
All my triggers do eliminate the trigger safety, the manual and internal drop safety remain as stock though.
So its not as drop safe as it was with the trigger safety. You should make a short stroke SAO with a trigger safety. I dont buy SIGs because they lack a trigger safety. I can deal with no trigger safety as long as theres a thumb safety or grip safety.
Awesome! a whole cannel for my gun upgrades lol
Even the fattest trigger looks like it breaks on the same spot. How do I cut the travel distance of the trigger?
Also will you be making an sada version of the fattest one?
Also I would like to replace the mag release bcuz it's really sharp. I suppose I could file it smooth but I'd rather keep it clean.
@@KeepTinkering oh so the backstrap doesn't remove the restrike?
No, all the SAO triggers remove the restrike, but quite honestly it isnt that useful. The DA functions on these guns isnt dependable from the factory, it isnt even close.
What is the technical/difficulty/special tools level of installing this trigger at home?
For tools you can use a few punches, a roll of tape to use as a bench block, a hammer, a couple pairs of pliers and some dental tool type hooks can be handy. I go over the install here: ua-cam.com/video/n3iMi9jypYw/v-deo.html and here I go in depth on the trigger spring install, which I consider to be the hardest part: ua-cam.com/video/E0rqzitj2Ho/v-deo.html
Where can I purchase the trigger you have on your g2c?
