With Lionel Hampton on drums (one of the best drummers ever), this version is BETTER than the one he did with Jimmy Dorsey on DECCA in the same year.....
I totally agree, the studio version of this song isn't nearly as good as this one, which is weird because the Dorsey brothers are usually great! I really wish they had a full length complete recording of THIS version without all the crowd noise and sound effects :-/

It would be GREAT issued as a 12 inch, but it wouldn't be on Decca.....Columbia......
