ഒരു കാലത്ത് 3000 ലധികം തൊഴിലാളികൾ ഒരേ സമയം ജോലി ചെയ്തിരുന്ന മാവൂർ ഗ്രാസിം കമ്പനി. വിഷപുകയും, ജല മലിനീകരണവും അമിതമായപ്പോൾ ഒരു പാട് പരിസരവാസികൾക്ക് ക്യാൻസർ പോലുള്ള മാരക രോഗങ്ങൾ പിടിപെടാൻ തുടങ്ങി. മലിനീകരണം കുറയ്ക്ക് മാവൂരും, വാഴക്കാടും ഒരുമിച്ച് സമരത്തിനിറങ്ങി ഇന്ത്യ കണ്ട ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ജല മലിനീകരണത്തിനെതിരെയുള്ള സമരം. അവസാനം 2000 - 2001 കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ കമ്പനി പൂർണ്ണമായി അടച്ചുപൂട്ടി. ഇന്നും ആ കമ്പനിയുടെ ശേഷിപ്പുകൾ അവിടെ ബാക്കിയുണ്ട് എല്ലാ സ്ഥലവും എകദേശം 300 ഏക്കറോളം ഇന്ന് കാട് മൂടി കിടയ്ക്കുന്നു. ഇന്ന് ചാലിയാർ പുഴ ശാന്തമായി ഒഴുകുന്നു. ആരും കുളിക്കാതിരുന്ന ചാലിയാറിൽ ഇന്ന് കുട്ടികൾ നീന്തി കുളിക്കുന്നു. കമ്പനിയുടെ അവസാന കാലഘട്ടം ബാല്യത്തിൽ കണ്ട എനിക്ക് ഇന്ന് ഈ സിനിമയിലുടെ കമ്പനി കാണാൻ സാധിച്ചപ്പോൾ വളരെ ഖേദം തോന്നുന്നു.

ഉർവ്വശി ഒരുപാട് വ്യത്യസ്തമായ വേഷങ്ങൾ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചു കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. എത്രയേറെ ഭംഗിയായി ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു. മറ്റാർക്കും ഉർവ്വശി എന്ന നായിക യെ അനുകരിക്കാൻ സാധിക്കില്ല. വിമർശകരെ വരെ ചൊടിപ്പിച്ച മറ്റൊരു നായിക യും ഉർവ്വശി യോളം പ്പോന്ന പോൽ മലയാളത്തിലും മറ്റ് ഭാഷകളിലും കാണാൻ തരമില്ല. എല്ലാം അടച്ചാക്ഷേപിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് ഉർവ്വശി എന്ന നായിക യെ അംഗീകരിക്കാൻ സാധിക്കില്ല.

@@pranavbinoy9707 Jayan was daring and bold (and had a superb physique - without using any steroids, he was built like a rock) and did dangerous stunts (especially the helicopter one that killed him), but he wasn't very flexible. In fact None of the actors at that time were flexible, they weren't required to. Only stuntmen and dupes did all the somersaults, flips and jumps. But that was a different era. Mohanlal has done pretty dangerous and daring stunts, and is very flexible too. But he does not have Jayan's physique, none of the actors of today has (not natty anyway). So yea, Jayan and Mohanlal each has strengths and weaknesses. So how about we say, Jayan was the King of action and stunt, in his time and Mohanlal's the King since that. At least Mohanlal had the privilege of working with Jayan (even though as a villain) and I believe Jayan passed the baton to Mohanlal. It's like trying to compare Michael Jackson and Prince! Both are greats in their own way. Both geniuses.

@@pranavbinoy9707 Jayan was daring and bold (and had a superb physique - without using any steroids, he was built like a rock) and did dangerous stunts (especially the helicopter one that killed him), but he wasn't very flexible. In fact None of the actors at that time were flexible, they weren't required to. Only stuntmen and dupes did all the somersaults, flips and jumps. But that was a different era. Mohanlal has done pretty dangerous and daring stunts, and is very flexible too. But he does not have Jayan's physique, none of the actors of today has (not natty anyway). So yea, Jayan and Mohanlal each has strengths and weaknesses. So how about we say, Jayan was the King of action and stunt, in his time and Mohanlal's the King since that. At least Mohanlal had the privilege of working with Jayan (even though as a villain) and I believe Jayan passed the baton to Mohanlal.
It's like trying to compare Michael Jackson and Prince! Both are greats in their own way. Both geniuses.
