This was one of my memorable malls I always went to from mostly 1992 - 2013. In 1993 I went there for stores like Suncoast, The Wall, KB Toys, Spencers, Hallmark & Radio Shack. I remember when Spencers was on the 1st floor right next to The Wall and it was a really small store. In 2002 Spencers moved upstairs and when The Wall changed its name to FYE, they ripped down half the wall that separated the 2 stores and expanded FYE. The original enterance to The Wall was replaced by big windows and the new enterance to FYE was where the enterance to Spencers was.Soooo many memories at Silver City for me. I mostly went into the main mall enterance at where The Ground Round and Ruby Tuesday was. If I went to that mall 1,000 times, 900 of those times was at that main enterance.I watched the demolition and I had to be there when they finally tore down the last section of the mall ...... the main entetance.. Ill miss Silver City. I thank you for this video and I was glad to see inside The Ground Round again for the 1st time since I last ate there in 1999.

I used to manage the Sam Goody in this mall back in the 90's and this mall was the bomb back then! Traffic backed up for miles on the highway to get into the mall during Christmas time. Sad to see it go.

Does anyone else remember Camp Bucky in the food court?! That was my whole childhood right there. I wish it was still there when this video was made, I wish I could see it again... :( The food court filled with the neon yellow, pink, and blue metal chairs.... I so badly wish I could somehow buy a set just for the sheer nostalgia and memories those chairs brought me. :( I had my first ever ice cream sundae (mint chocolate chip with rainbow sprinkles and a cherry on top!) in the Brigham's at the Galleria mall. My dad put so many quarters in the little ice cream truck ride on toy for the kids that was in front of the Orange Julius/DQ. I remember my mother always parking in the Sears parking lot, and we would walk around the mall so often after school. I got my ears pierced at the Icing store in 1st grade, then my second holes at the piercing pagoda in 7th. The halloween parties all throughout elementary school in front of JC Penney, so many pictures with santa/the beautiful christmas decorations, the bungee jumping trampolines!! I miss all of it. Im so grateful that I lived only 5 mins away and got to grow up during the peak of the Galleria Mall. Thank you Silver City Galleria for all the amazing childhood memories. The area will never be the same without you! :(
(and thank you @Triangle Of Mass for making this video... it brought tears to my eyes!!)

Of all craziness of dead malls, this one baffles me. I was there in 2017. Place was packed and busy, with a full food court and lots of tenants. Bad business that it had turned around and closed after covid.

08:50 This WAS Suncoast. So many good memories there it hurts.
09:31 Bertucci's. Can't remember when it closed, but it was likely a full decade before the mall.
31:11 The Ground Round, closed about 2007-8. 32:26 Remember having dinner at a table right by that window.
33:04 Ruby Tuesdays, closes about 2008.
36:29 One of the last FYE anywhere; it lasted nearly to the end.
39:08 Both floors of this wing had been virtually abandoned years before closing.
39:17 Underwater World. This aquarium store was there for YEARS!

One of my favorite malls I’ve been to. Probably as a kid my favorite mall. This is so sad and eerie. I drove past it 2 weeks ago not know they had took it down and was mind blown.

The building was only 30 years old . Can’t see why they’d demolish it. 1992 doesn’t seem that long ago but maybe because I’m an Xer. Times were definitely better back then.

You were wrong in the first minute of your video. It was a very busy mall from the start. It was built at the intersection of rt24 and rt140. I spent my high school years at that mall and it was booming the first 15 or so years of its lifespan. I also worked at this mall.

I can't even describe why your video is fascinating. Thank you for not opening the bathroom doors.
There were billions of dollars worth of stuff there, and it was all demolished?
We have millions of people who have no way to even get out of the rain or the oppressive heat, and this was demolished? I'll bet Habitat for Humanity could have done something with this place, along with 50 other non-profits.
So very sad at how the greedy/rich can waste what could have possibly helped millions of people in so many different ways.
Thank you for showing us all something we would otherwise not experience.

Sorry, but I've got to criticize the facts in your opening monologue.
"When Filene's Basement left the mall started dying."
    Absolutely not.
    Filene's basement closed around '99/'00.
The mall thrived for much longer than that....
