There's a few of these types of videos now from the Galleria, but this one is special in that you've actually been to the mall before, and from around here, which is very important to the narrative of something like this.
I used to come to this mall every Saturday with my family, I'd go into the Macy's entrance (Then Filene's, this is 1993), and sprint down past Babbage's (before it turned into Gamestop), and then Electronics Boutique to Cyberstation, the proper arcade this mall once had.
It was across the way from the food court, directly in-between the Spencers and the old Electronics Boutique/Gamestop. For anyone that ever sped Saturday nights there (it closed in April 2002), Round 1 has none of what makes Cyberstation special.
I ended up working in the arcade from 1997-1998, and it's my most fun job to date.
I bought all my video games at this mall, had my first date at the Ruby Tuesday's, went trick or treating with my little sister. Handed out candy on Halloween when I was working there, and seeing it in the state it's in is sad, but it's important that it get documented. Please consider keeping the source video in case UA-cam takes it down for music copyright in the overhead tunes.
Thank you so much for doing it, if anyone wants to get in touch about the Galleria, I can be reached at cyberstation5745@gmail.com (The Taunton chain of this arcade was location #5745.)
Thanks again, also the jeweler to the right of Disney Store was Belden Jewelers.

Thank you so much for the kind words, I really appreciate you checking out the video and sharing all the great memories you had at the mall! These are the types of comments I love to read(I enjoy all the comments but this one really did it for me), and it really adds to the nostalgic value that you actually worked at the mall too! I have this saved as well for sure to preserve it, if you wanted to even collaborate on a video I think that would be really cool too to just reminisce about the mall

Ditto on the above comment. It’s nice to see a video like this from someone who went to the Galleria, not just someone who came after seeing in the news that it was closing. Also, Cyberstation was amazing! I’ve been trying to archive as many photos and info about the history of the Galleria as possible. A couple of years ago I recreated this end of the mall where Cyberstation was and put it back, this is in a 3D game engine. facebook.com/pg/cyberstation5745/photos/ (not sure if that will load, but there should be some photos of the mall using crude textures. :-) I might make a new comment with extended notes from this video. Thanks for sharing that, I follow your channel and see that you've shown some car meets that have happened here as well, sad to see that go away now too. Who knows what they will do with all these big empty lots, I know plenty of people have enjoyed doing some donuts in the parking lot for sure! They should have a race track set up for the fastest time around the mall now that would be something to see, hitting top speeds in your stylish yet race car 1996 honda civic banging rev limiter hearing that D16 single jingle be pushed to crazy speeds, and have everyone set up with bleachers and chairs around the track filming this event. But you better watch out because I heard that Hector is going to be running 3 Honda Civics with spoon engines. And on top of that, he just went into Harry's, and he ordered 3 T66 turbos, with NOS. And a Motec exhaust!!!

My greatest memories at Silver City was between 1996 - 2012. My favorite store was The Wall which was on the first floor and Spencers was right next to it. When Spencers was on the first floor it was a very small store. They moved upstairs in 2002 and when The Wall was bought out by Trans World (who owned Suncoast and Record Town, etc) the store name changed to FYE. They knocked down the wall and expanded FYE to the corner of the hall where Round 1 is. Round One was Steve & Barry's and before that it was Lechemere. My other favorite store was Suncoast. They were originally located on the first floor. I used to park my car, walk into the JC Penny enterance (the one near the Best Buy) and took a shortcut through JC Penny and when you walk into the mall leaving JC Penny, Suncoast was right on the right on the corner. Suncoast moved upstairs in 2001 that eventually turned into the Chinese sword store around 2007..KB Toys was another memory and next door was Sam Goody. I first went to Sam Goody in 1993 and I remember the pink and purple neon lights that were on the wall around the store. After Sam Goody left, it was used as a Toys R Us Express store during the months between August until January for the Christmas season. I also loved going to the original Yankee Candle store that was located on the 2nd floor and Claire's was right next to Yankee Candle. In 2012, Yankee moved down the hall, Claire's left and Regal Cinema took over those 2 stores spaces as part of the renovation. Another cool store was Vince's sports memorabilia that was located on the first floor next to Debbys Pet Land. And finally, a store ill always loved going to between 2000 to 2009 was Hallmark. They were located on the first and the cell phone place took that location over. In 2007 I noticed quite a few Hallmark stores that closed in Massachusetts. When I went to Silver City one day in 2007, I asked "You guys aren't closing are you?" and they said no, we're staying open.... Well ... that only lasted for 2 more years. It's so sad they are demolishing it. I go there everyday at around 1pm to sit in the parking lot where the Gatra buses go and I want to see where they rip down the food court mall enterance. The Sears building is gone and ill shed a tear when I see them tear down that mall enterance because that was my enterance from 1996 until it closed. Ill miss you Silver City Galleria!!

One more thing I like to add. There was 1 other store in that mall that was called "We Got Whats Hot". It was located on the 2nd floor, ptobrably 2 stores after the DQ. I used to go that store alot in 2001 and 2002 before they I believe went out of business. They had nice leather jackets and great music items like t-shirts.

The store off the escalator was The Gap. JC Penney was in that middle dead area. Next to Olympia to the left, at least in the late 90s was Bath and Body Works, then Express, then Structure, a men’s Express. Worked there in college. That was definitely a Payless. In the 90s, that store on the corner of the big area no one went was Wilson’s Leather. Gymboree and The Children’s Place were near there. Charlotte Russe was near Yankee Candle. That Unplugged place was H&M.
My mom and I went to the opening of Filene’s before the mall even opened, right around this time of year in 1991. I was a freshman in high school. Oh, and a store next to KB Toys was Sam Goody waaaaayyyy back in the day.
I remember waiting for concert tix in that weird lower level of Macy’s because Ticketmaster ran out of their offices. That was 2000-2001.
That store with the motorcycle on the lower level was once Lane Bryant. Worked there too

When there is less then 8 stores in a decently sized mall and always empty parking lots all over the place besides round 1 and the movies, I'd say it safe to say about 80% of the mall is abandoned, soon to just be round 1, the movies and work out world only left
