The lake where you found them crappie up in five foot. Is it a shallower lake on avg? Or did it have deep basins as well? I guess my question is would you ever find fish in 5ft if a majority of lake is 12-25?

Shallower lake on average. Lots of water 11-14 ft with a few points deeper.
When searching weed flats like that without forward facing sonar. How often should a guy drill when covering ground looking for fish? Are they usually grouped tight?
