Great video! I have the X-line facelift. Was lucky enough to grab one of the first X-lines in Bangalore in Aug 2023. I agree with every point in the video. However, I've found maintaining the matte grey very easy and quite rewarding too. The fact that a simple wipe off the Jopasu duster pretty much sets it going. Unlike the ones with shine, where you have to go an extra round to make sure it looks shiny and new. I've always said this to anyone who's asked for a car recommendation. It's a great all-rounder - it's quick, it's versatile, it's feature rich. Yes, safety is a hush-hush matter when it comes to Seltos. But we all have to remember, the NCAPs are done at 64kmph. As a Seltos 2020 HTX diesel owner, i must say having test driven the Turbo Petrol, it sure feels like great upgrade. But those 18 inchers sure feels bit let down. Yes they look amazing feels grippy but the 17 is where the sweetspot. Also the Stock tyres are just OKAY. The Conti Uc6 are like the default upgrade for majority of Seltos Owners. Even I'll be upgrading to them after my stock ones are close to 60k KM. They actually make a big difference. The feature list and their Reliability is where the Koreans dwarfs every other manufactures. You'll find yourself using almost all the features on day to day basis more and still find something new down the line. But this Usability/Reliability comes at a cost of slightly higher Replacement cost especially after the warranty ending. As usual a Quick, To point and informative Video by Kartikeya. Feels so fresh like Chai On a cold morning ❤
*Diesel with auto is best for practical & fuel efficiency. although care should be taken to look after it like a baby bcoz it's a diesel means problems will arise if not taken care.crossover SUVs with petrol or turbo petrol is a pocket burner when it comes to mileage on long tours & as vehicle ages mileage is worst suitable for rich who has stock money somewhere rusting. what are your thoughts motor inc ?*
Last month, I was considering buying the NS 200 because it’s known for being value-for-money, despite not being fond of its outdated looks. However, after watching your podcast on the NS 200, where Shumi sir emphasized not basing a bike purchase solely on its value-for-money aspect, I reconsidered my decision. As a college student, mileage was also a concern for me with my first bike. I test rode both the Apache 200 4V and the MT-15; both bikes felt modern and upscale. Watching Shumi sir’s video on the R15, and knowing it shares the same engine as the MT-15, was crucial in helping me decide. I finally bought the MT-15, and I must say, this bike is amazing to ride! The engine is incredibly smooth, and the overall feel is awesome. Thank you, Shumi sir, and thanks to the Motorinc team!
@motorinc - helpful analysis - could you please throw some light on the reliability of the DCT. Have heard that in city / start-stop traffic the DCT is horrid - jerks, some gears not working, reliability issues, etc, is that so? As a city driver (Delhi - Gurgaon no less) that is the ONLY worry one might have in the longer run. Thanks
Hi Dhruv, HMG had been very cautious with their first gen dual-clutch gearboxes. They were learning that tech. Still we have heard of very few failures/issues. The new gen gearbox - shows that they are confident. They work better in every way. If we were looking to get one - we wouldn’t worry about it. But would opt for extended warranty as insurance. It’s a small cost for big peace of mind.
Which is better, sp125 vs glamour xtech vs raider vs hero Xtreme 125 vs ns/pulsar 125? Which is better? 1. For those who wants to shift from activa to bikes. 2. No backpain, comfortable bike with comfortable position. Sometimes long ride, weekend long ride. 3. Easy to handle, maneuver, eay to handle. 4. Low maintenance, no after sales service tension etc
Before the Seltos facelift, every reviewer kept saying that the reason Creta outsold Seltos was coz Creta came with panaromic sunroof. Now Seltos facelift also comes with panaromic sunroof and look at its sales number. Its even lower 😂 People choose Creta over Seltos coz its more comfortable and has more service centres throughout India, which is important for Indian buyers.
Rear space isn't that good though!! Visited kia seltos at its showroom and found to be like a well made premium small car . Rear space could have been made better i felt !! For 24 L ( seltos X line ) i found hycross Vx hybrid ( 32 L ) worth by paying an additional 8 L ( though both are different segments, but prices are close approximate ) So for 8 L , we get more space, hybrid tech ( efficiency) , premium car , Toyota's resale and reliability. Was it a wise decision @motorinc ??
All are our top picks in their respective segments @sarax065, comes down to your budget and brand preferences, essentially. Please take test drives and get back to us if you have more questions.
This vs the Elevate, purely based on driving experience? I'll be honest here - right before this video, I used to think the Elevate was the best SUV on the market. The Seltos X-Line changed that today and now the argument will be about driving experience alone.
If you've driven the turbo petrol Seltos, the elevate will feel like crying to accelerate. It sounds a bit too much as delivering a baby while accelerating slowly
Even the elevate interiors, I was upgrading from figo. Figo felt better than Elevate. You will be sold on the Seltos, the premium feel part is unmatched.
I see.🤔 I was considering the Elevate due to the suspension. You guys said that it can easily take care of potholes and not let the passengers feel anything. So, for my parents, I thought that would be the perfect car. How is the Seltos in that regard? I already know if I have to selfishly choose one, the Seltos is my answer, but is it good for my parents?
@@Farhan_049 that's the issue bro, every product has some flaws. If suspension is the top priority then buying Elevate is fine but Motorinc suggested you Creta as well which is a perfect balance of refinement and suspension. Have a test drive of Creta with your parents, it's actually quite comfortable
Hi Sir!! Just love the way you share your views and analysis about the vehicle..Big fan of you Sir!! I am literally confused between creta n line, seltos & virtus.. Being a fan of manual transmission, i m disappointed with Kia for not giving us a proper manual gearbox in the tubo petrol variant..Can you please help me in choosing the right one between these 3 options?
Until the VW-Skoda SUVs 1) find a better balance for the suspension that makes them better on our broken roads 2) improve cabin quality 3) Make air-cons India ready - they will be hard to recommend.
It's immensely difficult getting into these courses if you are not familiar with these design schools. There isn't much scope regarding automobile design in India....i passed out 17yrs ago and it was terrible then. Also scope of landing a job is really hard cause design houses are very small organizations located usually in Europe..... American ones in California are very competitive
Hey.. you guys are doing some terrific work 👏 and my go to place to gather more informations about cars. I am driving a 7 year old Baleno manual and considering upgrading to an automatic. I am getting around 1.85 - 2L discount in 2023 make Seltos Htx Plus DCT , but I can only take the delivery around September end as I need to be out of town for couple of months.. is it a good deal ? And is it right to drive home a 9-10 months old car sitting at the dealership ? Another thought in my head is should we wait for couple of years for the next generation Seltos ?
Hey Ritesh! How are you! First some advice - If your Baleno is driving well, don’t rush to make the change. As for the purchase: 1) is this the facelifted Seltos? 2) if you can wait, why not? There will be a new Seltos. And it will be better, but more expensive too.
@@motorinc I am doing good, thank you! ya this is the 2023 December make facelifted Seltos. And if I keep my Baleno it’s high time to change its tyres . I was considering continental uc6 .. but little confused if I should stick with 195/55 r16 or upgrade to 205/55 r16.. I can understand the pros of it, but the only thing I am worried about is how much heavier the steering wheel will become (the steering did become a little heavier over the time and Maruti service has no solution for it)
Very detailed and impressive analysis and report on Seltos. Promptly for us, looking for one. With 4 adults, mostly within the City - Would you recommend DCT or D with AT? I see the Diesel AT is only 117 BHP, which keeps me a bit skeptical. Kindly throw some light on it.
Hey, nice video! But you forgot to mention something really important: safety. The old Seltos did poorly in crash tests, and I don't see anything here to suggest that's changed. They've added a bunch of features, but they've missed the most important thing. As a reviewer, you have a responsibility to point this out, and it's a shame that you didn't. U went to such length to explain tiny details...u didn't mention anything this critical safety aspect... almost feels like u guys were paid not to mention this...
Hi @siddharth44410, thank you for the feedback. We do not do paid content at MotorInc and to us it's more important that the Seltos has every electronic safety aid and most of them are available on all variants too. Kartikeya has mentioned that in the video as well. The new Seltos is yet to be crash tested (not safety test, crash test!) by BNCAP so we haven't talked about that here. And fwiw, we don't equate crash test ratings alone to how safe a car is.
Can you please make a comprehensive video on switching from manual to automatic transmission? Many of us have been driving manual cars for a long time and are either planning to switch to automatic or have recently made the switch. We're unsure about the changes we need to make in our driving style and the precautions to take, especially with concerns about transmission overheating and failures. It would be great if you could cover: * Differences in Driving Style: What changes should we make when switching from manual to automatic? How to adapt for different types of automatic transmissions like CVT vs. DCT. Which transmissions will you recommend for hot places (like Delhi, Rajasthan), for hilly areas (like Himachal, uttranchal) etc * Driving in Different Conditions: Tips for driving automatic cars (especially models like the Hyundai Creta or other cars under 20 lakhs) in hilly areas, both ascending and descending. Precautions for bumper-to-bumper traffic, handling automatic cars at signal lights etc * Running-in Automatic Cars: How to properly break in a new automatic car since you don't control the gears directly. * How to maintain your automatic cars (and transmissions) in proper manner These topics would be really helpful for those transitioning to automatic cars. Thanks for considering this!
I think the HTK+ variant covers all the essential features. Only miss are Auto Dimming IRVM and Electrically folding ORVMs. I am really confused between the 1.5l NA CVT and the 1.5l Turbo iMT. Both cost the same. Which one would you choose?
Opt for the turbo only if you plan to 1)Drive fast 2) Spend more of your time on the highway. Else CVT is plenty good! We’d happily pick one for city users.
Nice video. I suggest that more stress should be given on DPF issues faced by owners who use a diesel cars almost exclusively in the city. Prolonged low speed usage results in clogging of DPF and a difficult ownership experience. I had a chat with one of the service advisors at Kia. He informed me many customers face this issue and think the car has a manufacturing defect. He was very clear that diesel should purchased only if you are doing prolonged highway driving. In the city petrol is the way to go.
Background music takes away the real content watching experience. The BGM is not subtle in nature and it constantly annoys. Just a genuine feedback. By the way, i love your podcasts
Is it worth upgrading from my 2015 1.6 petrol Creta to a brand new Seltos petrol CVT from a mileage perspective if i want more fuel efficiency and less pinch on my pocket ? Primarily in city driving
Considering Seltos X-Line price, should i consider xuv700 AX5 which falls in the same price bracket but is a bigger car, bigger engine, and a 5-star rated car? Dont have a need for a lot of features, cruise control and back camera is a must which xuv covers
Hullo Ashish, if you need the extra space or a bigger boot - sure. It’s the better rough road machine by far. But its turbo petrol will be more thirsty and the experience isn’t as rich. We would anyways recommend looking at the GTX/+ or the HTX+ for the best experience with the Seltos. We hear discounts are happening too.
Sir.. In seltoes brochure its shown the use of high strength stell... same as new creta... This same used in verna got 5 star rating.. So new seltoes and creata we can expect 5 str?
Hi i had asked the question in a previous video posted by you about Creta. I am getting the 1.5 NA HTX seltos petrol manual and the 1.5 NA SX Creta petrol manual in more or less the same brice bracket. The seltos is 40,000 cheaper and offer some extra features. But my main concern is whether the seltos is good enough for 3 people in the back and its ride quality compared to creta? Which once would you advise?
Hi. Frankly speaking this is very subjective. Many people find Seltos over Creta in backseat and many have vice versa choice. Best is I suggest just take a longer test drive with both and sit 3 at the back. 😊
Hey DD, the Creta has the better back seat because of the seat shape. But it’s best you try them out for yourself since the difference is subtle. Our serious recommendation- go for the CVT! You will get more of that engine with the manual.
Well, my question was more on the lines of its 'top-dog status'.. Anyway, I ended up buying the N-Line N10 DCT. Hyundai's 4-yr extended warranty as against Kia's 2 went its favour. Didn't want to take any chances with DCT under the hood. Ofc, seltos had a few more features, but I thought I could live without them. Another thing most reviewers will miss out is the audio quality on Creta. While both use Bose, I did enough tests to conclude Hyundai's implementation sounds better for some reason. One reason I can think of, is the placement of tweeters. They are closer to the ears offering better higher frequencies, that translates into better perceived clarity.
Thanks, as always, for an insightful segment! While hard to digest at first, i am now warming upto a cvt/normally aspirated set up. In a more enlightened world we would all still be buying the diesels. If, for instance, there was a transparent roadmap in terms of reasonably long usable window and fuel availability. The strategic ambiguity maintained by the government on the future of Diesel rivals that of America on Taiwan and has been an unqualified buzzkill! Today, when the daily commute sees average speeds of 15-20 km/hr, on a good day, a turbo petrol is exactly the wrong sort of engine the Diesel the right one!
We agree that the Government can be clearer about this but Diesels seem to be going away, sooner than later. So, it would be wise to prepare for that eventuality rather than being hit with a surprise @shailesshs9750.

Thank you for watching @Holy_Demon!
Congratulations @Arindamghoshonline. Wonderful to hear that! Thanks for sharing this with us…

@@motorinc a good diesel automatic in today's world
Petrol vehicle are great but e20 and e10 are not bad petrol just trash
Sp125, parts availablity, Honda Service Centers and legendary reliability
If one need to take decision between Creta N Line N 10 vs Seltos X line, which one to go? For Automatic gear box
I would probably go for Xline DCT
Hey Priyank, because of the better suspension we’d go for the N Line. Do try it out. Would love to know what you think. Thanks!
Need a Taigun vs Creta vs Seltos comparo!
Aha! Thanks for the recommendation Vignesh!
Before the Seltos facelift, every reviewer kept saying that the reason Creta outsold Seltos was coz Creta came with panaromic sunroof. Now Seltos facelift also comes with panaromic sunroof and look at its sales number. Its even lower 😂
People choose Creta over Seltos coz its more comfortable and has more service centres throughout India, which is important for Indian buyers.
Seltos X -line is begging to be bought just by the way it looks.❤️❤️❤️
If only that grille was smoother…
Rear space isn't that good though!!
Visited kia seltos at its showroom and found to be like a well made premium small car .
Rear space could have been made better i felt !!
For 24 L ( seltos X line ) i found hycross Vx hybrid ( 32 L ) worth by paying an additional 8 L ( though both are different segments, but prices are close approximate )
So for 8 L , we get more space, hybrid tech ( efficiency) , premium car , Toyota's resale and reliability.
Was it a wise decision @motorinc ??
Kia Seltos
Kia Sonet
suzuki baleno
Which is better ?
All are our top picks in their respective segments @sarax065, comes down to your budget and brand preferences, essentially. Please take test drives and get back to us if you have more questions.
This vs the Elevate, purely based on driving experience?
I'll be honest here - right before this video, I used to think the Elevate was the best SUV on the market. The Seltos X-Line changed that today and now the argument will be about driving experience alone.
If you've driven the turbo petrol Seltos, the elevate will feel like crying to accelerate. It sounds a bit too much as delivering a baby while accelerating slowly
If you like the Elevate CVT just drive the Creta CVT before making a decision. We find the Elevate to be disappointing.
Hello! That’s choice is simple. N Line! The difference in suspension tune makes it a better pick. Do let us know if we can help further.
@@motorincThanks!! In case an option is given to pick between creta N line manual and Virtus GT 1.5 manual?
Until the VW-Skoda SUVs 1) find a better balance for the suspension that makes them better on our broken roads 2) improve cabin quality 3) Make air-cons India ready - they will be hard to recommend.
@@motorinc Thanks a lot for your suggesstion Sir!!
Guys pls make a View video on VE VIRTUS!!!

HTX+ with that Tan Dual Tone Interior is just 😍😍
YES Definitely 👌
Pure temptation!
Please tell which is better... Scorpio n or kia seltos..iam confused in these 2
Amazing video as always guys :D. The music choices are amazing!
Awesome to know that A!
Hey I want to design cars. What should I study? Where? How?
U have to look out for universities abroad, usually in US like Rhode Island School or Pratt.....there are few great UK universities too......
I wanted to study the same after my architecture degree was over....but after sometime I decided against it
@@dattatreya_das may I know why you decided not to pursue it? Also what about Indian colleges/Universities?
It's immensely difficult getting into these courses if you are not familiar with these design schools. There isn't much scope regarding automobile design in India....i passed out 17yrs ago and it was terrible then. Also scope of landing a job is really hard cause design houses are very small organizations located usually in Europe..... American ones in California are very competitive
Also cost of doing a design degree is no small matter....😢
Hey.. you guys are doing some terrific work 👏 and my go to place to gather more informations about cars.
First some advice -
If your Baleno is driving well, don’t rush to make the change.
We would recommend the petrol. And we highly recommend trying the CVT.l before you decide. That would be the best pick for you. Hope that helps BA!
Compared to the geman cars, how does this stand up?
It would be great if you could cover:
* Differences in Driving Style: What changes should we make when switching from manual to automatic? How to adapt for different types of automatic transmissions like CVT vs. DCT. Which transmissions will you recommend for hot places (like Delhi, Rajasthan), for hilly areas (like Himachal, uttranchal) etc
* Driving in Different Conditions: Tips for driving automatic cars (especially models like the Hyundai Creta or other cars under 20 lakhs) in hilly areas, both ascending and descending. Precautions for bumper-to-bumper traffic, handling automatic cars at signal lights etc
* Running-in Automatic Cars: How to properly break in a new automatic car since you don't control the gears directly.
* How to maintain your automatic cars (and transmissions) in proper manner
These topics would be really helpful for those transitioning to automatic cars. Thanks for considering this!
Hey AI! Thanks for the recommendation- good one!
We agree @vikramghanekar!
Background music takes away the real content watching experience. The BGM is not subtle in nature and it constantly annoys. Just a genuine feedback.
By the way, i love your podcasts
Thank you for the feedback @Manishhtan.
Is it worth upgrading from my 2015 1.6 petrol Creta to a brand new Seltos petrol CVT from a mileage perspective if i want more fuel efficiency and less pinch on my pocket ? Primarily in city driving
1.6 petrol manual? If you factor in the extra cost of buying a new car - it won’t make sense. Assuming your Creta is still in good shape.
Pls do a “should you buy one” for creta n line black
Noted @7oa178. Are you specifically thinking of that colour?
@@motorinc Yes cause black color hides the design flaws of the car and it is aethestically best looking out of the all the other color.
I absolutely loveeee the new seltos
Good to know Harshit!
We hear discounts are happening too.
the main concern with the Mahindra and Tata cars is their so so QC, like you are never quite sure when all of a sudden a feature goes kaput..
Noicceeee
Thanks @ub678
Please give some giveaway episodes for the fans.
It will be fun and appreciated guys!
Thanks for the feedback SA!
3:47 UV cut glasses are no longer available. Dropped from March manufacture cars, you can’t find it in the latest brochure as well.
Thanks for the heads up. We’ll cross check.
Torque and fuel efficiency, usable in day to day driving, that's diesel for you.
That has been the charm. But, there are more challenges now - DEF, resale, and lower efficiency than before too.
I love to have a diesel vehicle but unfortunately for now I don't clock that much Kilometres in months 😢
Yep. Then it won’t make sense.
Bring back sedans and hot hatches! Im so sick of seeing these bricks for pretend rich people.

On the 18s it’s a problem. Not on 17s. Do check out our video on the Seltos variants. Will be what you wanted. 👍🏽

ANSWER IS SIMPLE: FLAT NO! 9:26 MINUTES NOT NEEDED FOR AN ANSWER ON THIS TOPIC. PEACE.
OKAY! THANKS A LOT!
Great video. Will you recommend diesel automatic for a regular city drives with enough long (spirited) drives ensuring DPF does not clog?
Hello Nitin! Sure. If you can do that - great. But you still need to be clocking lots of kms for the hassle to be worth it.
@@motorinc Thanks much for your response.
Sir.. In seltoes brochure its shown the use of high strength stell... same as new creta... This same used in verna got 5 star rating.. So new seltoes and creata we can expect 5 str?
We’ll have to see @JOELLOUIS-tr6xy. We’re happy that the Seltos has all the safety equipment on board though, most of them are standard too.
@@motorinc i am asking about chasis strength rather than all the so called saftery features
Seltos have rear 3 head rest
Hey DD, the Creta has the better back seat because of the seat shape. But it’s best you try them out for yourself since the difference is subtle. Our serious recommendation- go for the CVT! You will get more of that engine with the manual.
Loved the iMT Diesel version. Hope they give 360 camera for tech line and GT LINE too for that High 15lakh+ price and bring YELLOW color in Segment
Excellent combo. Aces over the auto.
@@motorinc also waiting for them to give iMT Diesel with Paddle Shifters. Is it possible that we can have iMT with Paddle Shifters?

Why not Creta DCT or the N-Line DCT version
We’ll talk about those too later. Any specific questions?
As always, amazing take ❤
Thank you Pawan!
