    Oh well, one more list for me to try, thank you Baumi. I love your decks. So much interaction . I have been playing Norin lately with my friends and we always have a blast. Or me at least. :)

    You and I must operate on a similar wavelength. Starting brewing the same commander and theme just a day before watching.
    I love the production value you add to the builds as well! Keep up the great work!

    Glad this was recommended to me. I've been picking up spirit support for a Hofri deck but this was such a cool theme I may just have make a version of it

    Moonlit Strider has some excellent synergy here.

    I wish my time zone matched up better with Germany’s- the commander sessions you play start at my midnight ;-;

    Such a fun concept for a deck. Peak magic. Take LOTR and blend it with other IP and ideas.

    Can you do a queen marchesa build? I’m always curious what route people go with any monarchy commanders

    2:18 ☝️🤓 ummm, actually - you can restart the name with Karn the Great Creator ultimate to remove it

    awesome video, as always! one question, why did you decide to make this one a 60€ deck instead of the 50€ budget as per usual?

    • @CommanderBaumi
      @CommanderBaumi  24 дні тому +3

      I built a functional deck for 50€ and then decided adding the dragons would be cool. but it felt really clunky to then take apart the functional deck just for some flavor inclusions. so I just decided to keep the deck as is and say that you should remove the dragons in the video lmao

    This is interesting, I bought your Derevi deck list after your cEDH video because I liked the idea of it and it was so different to how I normally build decks. I see a lot of similar cards and strategies here. I was actually wondering what your thinking was for how to play that Derevi deck and I’m guessing you play it very similarly to this one. I’ll actually be playing it for the first time with my pod tomorrow, but I’m curious, what’s the game ender in Derevi? How are you closing out a win? There’s so much card draw and control, but mostly small creatures and only a couple lords. In any case, love the videos and thanks for helping me think outside my comfort zone when deck building!

      Derevi is a tournament deck, so it plays without a social contract. In practice that means it kills players one after another. Pick the most dangerous target early, and then just rush them down. Dealing 40 damage is actually quite easy if we focus on it from the very beginning. Especially with Rule of Law effects slowing our opponents down considerably. Our counterspells then exist to prevent our opponents from playing the game. They get one spell a turn-if it's not dangerous, they can have it-if it's dangerous we counter it, forcing them to effectively skip their turn. This is why we want to reduce player count as quickly as possible-in a 1v1 we can't lose, since we just counter everything our opponent ever tries to do. Card draw then refreshes our interaction, and finds us the handful of lords we do play. We don't need a lot of lords-one or two will often have us dealing 15-20 damage a turn because of the sheer quantity of creatures we control, which quickly ends the game as our opponents are trying to find a way around Rule of Law. The trick to playing this deck is really down to learning which cards you need to counter and which you can let slide. Just because our opponent played a big creature doesn't mean we have to worry about it. We need to be ready to prevent boardwipes and win attempts.

    Comparing LOTR lore to that disastrous MTG set is crazy 💀
