I agree with you politically, but honestly if you listened to TS folklore and evermore(her previous 2 albums excluding the remakes) and call that bad music....sheesh, we have serious different tastes in what art is in music. The lyrics in all of the songs on those albums are pure poetry. So many deep, soul crushing lines. Telling stories of things shes never even experienced, like divorce. Even in the song she wrote for where the crawdads sing- she sang it all in one take and used all instruments from the time period the book was based in. Besides all of the above, Taylor is an artist who literally engages her fans and she has done/does so much for other artists and the industry in general. She's a pioneer in many aspects, a really hard worker and has also gained the respect of multiple other artists spanning both 'decades and genres'. She puts her all and truth into her music and has been blessed with the ability to express in words that which, many individuals are able to relate to but may not be able to verbalize. I agree with you politically, but honestly if you listened to TS folklore and evermore(her previous 2 albums excluding the remakes) and call that bad music....sheesh, we have serious different tastes in what art is in music. The lyrics in all of the songs on those albums are pure poetry. So many deep, soul crushing lines. Telling stories of things shes never even experienced, like divorce. Even in the song she wrote for where the crawdads sing- she sang it all in one take and used all instruments from the time period the book was based in. You seem(seemed?) quite smart Candace and I've followed you for a while now however, It's my opinion that you have a rather biast and highly inaccurate view of Taylor Swift, primarily because of the beef she endured with your close friend 'Ye'. In all truthfulness, Taylor Swift is a lyrical genius and a tremendous artist and your commentary is a hit below the belt quite frankly.
Saying that Taylor Swift hasn't put out any good albums recently is horrendously false. 'Folklore' was probably the best thing to come out of 2020, and possibly the best album of the last decade. The 10 minute movie/single of "All too well" is a masterpiece.
Besides all of the above, Taylor is an artist who literally engages her fans and she has done/does so much for other artists and the industry in general. She's a pioneer in many aspects, a really hard worker and has also gained the respect of multiple other artists spanning both 'decades and genres'. She puts her all and truth into her music and has been blessed with the ability to express in words that which, many individuals are able to relate to but may not be able to verbalize.

Actually, not everyone pretends to get art. I have walked around in the Tate Modern in London and felt so annoyed at displays of women stockings stuffed with cotton wool, or some shattered dry spaghetti stuck to a canvas. COME ON!!!!! Surprisingly I am listening to her now compared to her music back in her teens and early 20s. Her music age like wine.
