Trains at: Eastleigh, SWML, 12/06/21

An excellent but short afternoon spent at Eastleigh on the South Western Mainline where we see plenty of services from South Western Railway, Cross Country and freight from Freightliner and GBRF.
Eastleigh was built by the London and Southwestern Railway company in 1839, when the station was built however it was actually known as Bishopstoke, this was later changed to Bishopstoke Junction in 1852, then it became Eastleigh and Bishopstoke in 1889 and finally just Eastleigh in 1923.
Eastleigh has always been a busy station with a branch line serving Salisbury and Romsey which was opened in 1847 and its also home to the Eastleigh Works which was constructed in 1891 and still sees plenty of usage each and every year.
My next station will actually be Portmouth & Southsea as I wasn't able to get to film at Southampton Central.

Hi Tornado922, if you get the chance to go there, Brockenhurst (New Forest) is a fantastic station to film at. You get services going between London, Southampton, Poole, Bournemouth and Weymouth stopping here, and I think freighters as well but don’t know. You also see the Lymington shuttle service. This is the new forest’s main station and all trains stop here. All in all it would make for a great video if you get the chance to go there 😊

You are obsessed with trains been clean. You want to drive your car up and down the motorway all day and see how clean it stays

Driving my car up and down the motorway is a completely different kettle of fish as I'm not providing a public service. These trains are in a sense the face of the company and if your fleet is completely dirty what kind of message is that sending to the public who use this service? It's not different that the countless courier vehicles that you see running around the country. They are always fairly clean as that gives the impression that the company itself cares for its image.
