I came to this video after watching your Forbidden Memories video because of your comment on Seto's music in the game, this is clearly the origin of all the game themes, as Anzu's is the Receive Card theme, Grandpa and Yugi share themes with this game in DDS off the top of my head. This is def a lost gem of the Yugioh series showing an awesome version of Capsule Monsters and its also one of the few Yu-gi-oh games that acknowledges the pre duel monsters era of Yu-ig-oh and does a great job doing it.
Fantastic. I knew about this game, but I thought it would be rather simple. This feels so neat to see all of the love and attention that went into this. I recognized Yugi's theme right away, I was shocked to hear it in the very first Yugioh game. It's almost surreal to see a Season 0 video game as nearly everything from hereon out has normal Yugi and the rest of the crew. There were some other gems that changed up the formula, Falsebound Kingdom and Duelists of the Roses, along with a retake of this concept, all gems in their own right.

Really wish we got an adventure or RPG Yu-Gi-Oh game that isn't about the capsule monster nor Magic & Wizard games but basically following the story of the early manga (from fighting his bully to the Death-T arc).
A yu-gi-oh RPG period sounds amazing. capsule monster GB was an amazing game mixing monster capsule and Rpg elements on an original story that would fit right into the early manga or toei anime giving a continaution to both Death-t and yami bakura arc. An rpg based game where you play along with yugi and his friends partaking in different kinds of games with each battle having unique mechanics would be great. i would also like to have a full on duel monsters/card game RPG. so far almost all yugioh games based on the card game lack a good story with the exception of forbidden memories, its sequels and Nightmare Troubadour. and even then those games have more of a campaign styled story mode where you just chat a bit and go from one opponent to the next. imagine a huge open world exploration based RPG based on the duelist kingdom or battle city arc. hell each yugioh spin-off features a unique setting that could make for a great RPG world to make a game in.
@@ciclon5682 I'm surprised they didn't take the idea of the Virtual World arc as a basis for an actual RPG where your main card acts as your battle character. Kinda like Shin Megaten/Pokémon/Digimon but in YGO.
@@ikagura Honestly konami is wasting it all on gacha based games or just basic simulations of the tabletop mechanics. give us a story with actuall gameplay outside the card game, give us crazy rule breaking moments and mechanics, give us the crazy visuals of the anime. Give us an experience that its not just duel after duel with nothing in between.

You control different characters from the manga/anime and they each have a party of three monsters fighting in turn based battle. You also have to recruit monsters by encountering them in the campaign and sometimes battling them.

Sick video man. Season 0 Yugi is best Yugi! Wish the Japanese VA didn't change. My fav part of season 1 Yugi was during the Pegasus arc when that Shadi guy accessed Yugi's mind. That part reminded me of season 0 Yugi. Game looks fun too : )
This game came with some promotional cards. Including the Blue Eyes White Dragon, a year before Konami launched their official Yu-Gi-Oh card game. And the promotional cards actually had the same artwork that would be used in the official card game and Anime.
it's interesting to think that the first official yu-gi-oh game is more similar to a prototype of what would be the first Digimon World game than to the card game we know today, many people immediately think of Forbbiden Memories as the first but I think that in an alternate future, if this game were the direction the franchise would take, would it be so successful? would it take pokemon off its throne? who knows, but I wanted this game to win a new game or at least Konami released a collection with some yugioh games from ps1, ps2, gameboy among other old cosoles and of course include a translation for this game too.

I’ve always seen this game and it’s GameBoy counterpart and always was interested in playing them but the language barrier was tough especially with all the little details and specific gameplay in the game. I do want to purchase them eventually to own. I also noticed a music track used in the background that sounded similar to Falsebound Kingdom and Duelist of the Roses, was it a track from those games or the Capsule game? I only ask because Yu-Gi-Oh said games have reused and remixed their own music in its games like the Free Duel Music in Forbidden Memories is the same track in the Yu-Gi-Oh! duel 3 for Gameboy when duel with a link cable.
