First time I saw this scene, I was definitely squealing on the couch. This is only my second time watching this scene, now with an iPad and earphones and it's so much better. Fully immersive and it's giving me such North & South feels.
When I saw the preview clips to this I decided to give it a try. I immediately feel in love with this show. Then John & Sara had their first scene together and I said "Oh DAMN!!!" Their chemistry jumped off the screen and hit me like a ton of bricks. I WAS HOOKED!!! Yes...when John says here "Turn me down by all means, but do not pretend I have no feelings for you." made me EXHALE!!!! I wanted to scream at Sara "Girl that man loves you like no other and he is so damn FINE!!!!" I pray that there will be a season 3 and Sara will realise it's possible to marry the man you love, bear his children and still be yourself. Then march over to John's place & snatch him away from violet. Who btw I don't believe was pregnant and if so then it may not be John's.
There will be another limited series based on the second novel by Caleb Carr titled "The Angel Of Darkness". The story will pick up some months later after the events in "The Alienist". And yes, all the characters from the first miniseries are still there, but their individual situations have somewhat shifted...and the case they deal with this time is quite different... And Dakota Fanning confirmed that they wrapped up filming in Budapest recently.
I'm honestly so torn. The independent side of me is happy they didn't get together yet. But then the other side of me wants these two together so much... hopefully season 2 will give me the best of both!!
In the show John does say that he's been in love a few times. Sara is the cold character here...I don't even know how she can even contain herself in front of a man like John!
@H S Men are mostly the romantic ones. Just look who is doing all the romantic stuff (Music, Poetry , Books, Movies, Theater, etc). Men are the romantic ppl, not women.
