The Hardest Thing To Do in Bass Fishing (Decision Making)

  • Опубліковано 30 чер 2024
  • After fishing a Bassmaster Open on Lake Hartwell I decided to do an extensive overview of how many tournament went and why I choose to fish the way I did. Lots of factors went into this decision and I show you from practice, to the tournament, and after on how it went down. These are going to be a series I do explaining what's in my head and how to view an overall body of water before fishing it.

I like hearing about the whole journey and not just the fish catches. Theres a story to be told behind every video and you dont get everything when you just show the catches. Great video.

Great video brother. Watching them all from here in Azle, TX on Eagle Mountain Lake. In the video, everytime you said the light switch went off, your 1st light out of 3 above your bar in the kitchen would go off when you snapped your fingers. I'm loving it Homie!!@.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! That’s what I come to this channel for! You make me think. I respect your ability and confidence to figure out a lake. I learned from you that I don’t have to try to outfish the sticks on a lake doing what the sticks do. That’s a good way to lose. I need to be open to what’s happening on the lake and find a way to make it happen.

Thanks for just hangin out and discussing how you were trying to figure it out. It's very interseting to me to figure out how to strikie that balance between over and under-thinking. As a pretty new fisherman, I tend to overthink and overplan and then not be willing to chuck the plan. Nice to see you adjust but also realize you may have been a little slower to adjust than you'de like but at least you adjusted instead of sticking with a plan that wasn't gonna work. I'm gonna try and do the same so thanks again.

I’m here for this. I commented on one of Hallman’s videos about doing this. Computer breakdown, practice breakdown, tournament breakdown on 1 video and explain what he was expecting vs what he got on the water and what dictated his choices. Totally on point. I don’t fish tournaments a lot anymore but this struck a nerve with me. I really never listened to dock talk as I wanted to find my own fish and figure out how to catch them. My problem was trying to make them bite to my strengths... Call it stubbornness I suppose. Nothing more satisfying than figuring them out and bringing 5 big ones to the scale or just crushing them fun fishing. Keep them coming as I’m waiting for your videos....

I think in the long run that’s what makes us better, you don’t get to experience what you had by sitting at home or by thinking it just wasn’t meant to be, it’s imperative that we come away with something useful, the way you broke this down is also a tool we should be using to our advantage, thank you for that.
Always great content man, much appreciated !!!

Love this video. I struggle on practice days to decide between hooking fish and shaking them off. Hard for me to gauge the size of fish when shaking off. So while I want to save fish for tournament days it’s nice to find areas that hold decent size fish. Plus most of my tournaments are 1 or 2 day events and not necessarily needing 3-4 days worth of fish. Kn a future video would love to hear any thoughts or elaborating on how you view this or decide on this.
