4:34:35 Mavis going into huffy annoyance when she finds out that Roger Crompton (of the art class) is not only NOT pining for her, but is now taking Rita out, is such a good scene. For all her outward timidity, Mavis was so vain, it was unbelievable.
She was vain, and I think she believed all the baloney from Victor about how she was a seductive temptress that men couldn't resist because she was full of sexual magnetism, etc. Like when Derek (or Dirk) compared her with Marilyn Monroe!
She is showing how horrible she can really be. Rita is supposed to be her friend and she has been to hell and back but all Mavis can do is try and sabotage any friendship or relationship she may have .....all for jealous and her own vanity.
Tracy has always been a little witch. The nerve of Ken judging Deidre when he is popping out babies left and right and the women being WAY younger than him every time! Gail is turning into Ivy with "Our Nickie".
Derdrie COULD have made it work with Ray. If the actor wasn’t leaving the show, they would have. They were a great fit and could have gotten through. Ray did NOT leave for another woman. He, unlike Ken, wanted to stay with her. He was willing to do anything she wanted to save their family. SHE demanded they all move away together, he made all the arrangements, SHE called it off at the last moment. SHE refused to try to forgive him. He WAS sorry, he DID regret it and he was willing to spend as long as it took making it up to her. I get so annoyed when she rewrites history. KEN cheated and walked out with the other woman. Ray did no such thing. Ken carried on behind her back in a love relationship behind her back for months and months. Ray had sex a couple times, called it off and chose Derdrie and Tracey. They were different situations. It drives me crazy that they act like Ken is a saint and Ray was a demon. That’s not the way it was
I feel the same about Gail conveniently forgetting telling Brian she no longer loved him hours before he died, but then stopped Ivy giving Brian the funeral in his faith, because she was 'his wife'.
@@tazzie2shoosThat drives me nuts too. It's bad enough that Gail is malicious, but she then applies that trait to rewrite history and claim victim status.

Quite frankly Corrie was better before it was infected with the virus of political correctness. I find many of today's storylines and situations disgusting. Ken the two faced bigot. The one who tells people about being responsible, spreading his non important option, but father's a child in his 50s with a much younger woman, selfish and unattractive.
I, personally, think Deirdre was rushing into marrying Samir, considering the fact she'd only known him for 3 months. Tracy, Ken, Emily & Liz all tried to warn her, but to no avail. Deirdre thought they disliked Samir and were all just being jealous and resentful, and trying to hurt her when actually it was the opposite. Emily, in particular, said it was a recipe for disaster. She was right, but not in the way that anyone would've predicted; death. In the days that followed, their marriage was already taking a toll when they had trouble with immigration. Personally, in my opinion, I think even if Samir hadn't died, it would've still ended in disaster, just not in a morbid way. After Samir, the next man, Jon Lindsay, was even more of a disaster, he got her sent to prison. Deirdre was like an egg, hard on the outside, but soft on the inside, particularly because of her taste in men.
