I have been viewing alot of the coverage from pilots and ATC amazing that everyone was able to walk away see the damage to both aircraft. It will be great to see footage from the Fire Rescue perspective
You guys should check in with fleet on every vlog. Have them show all the progress being made on apparatus and maybe tell us what new units are on order or are being ordered.
PIO vlogs are meant for the general public, most people don't care what's going on with their trucks. They dont think theyre cool, they dont care how they look, and they especially dont care about whats going on at fleet services. As long as their firefighters are running around doing rescues and putting out their fires, they dont bat an eye. For those who actually do want to look at their rigs, thats what fleet fridays are for
I remember this one when it happened and viewed the investigation as to how it actually happened partially due to the odd configuration of the parallel runways that can be confusing. Amazing that no one was killed. A friend of mine has a Cirrus also equipped the same so a nice safety feature. Basically, with the new Collapse Truck is a blank slate to be customized to fit your needs. Nice that it is stationed in the SMFR area, but also for dispatching to other areas as well. Can't wait to see it set-up and equipped. Nice to see your maintenance personnel and how they take care of the EMR equipment. It takes special people with the right amount of patience to deal with wiring harnesses, because it looks like spaghetti to me, so kudos to them. 80-90 hours more? Like I said it is all yours. You get lots of patches from Germany I have noticed. Great video and editing as usual.
I truly think this is one of the best Fire Depts in the country, not only do they have a large district and fleet, they have many volunteers and stations. They have a great UA-cam channel not to mention
@Rywillmoo35, they wouldn't be able to. Each station that has a Brush unit is cross staffed by another truck at the station, similar to HAZMAT and Tec Rescue. Say, for an example, a station has and Engine, Brush unit, and a medic (or whatever setup), the engine would switch to the brush if there is a brush/grass/Urban Interface fire, ect.
Word of advice on semi driving, always always exaggerate your turns and don't start your left turn until your shoulder is even with the obstacle you're turning around. However, having the axles set back will decrease turning radius but will eliminate tail swing.
Same... I’m like how come this is happening in the future??? We already know they’re long to crash and we’re making videos about it!? I hope everyone will be okay!
Something you might want to teach the drivers for the new collapse tech rescue is don't set the trailer brakes during the winter. Otherwise the brakes can freeze and not release when you get ready to leave. The guys at fleet will appreciate it as well I'm sure.
Talking about technical rescue and new replacements, 2 questions, does south metro plan on replacing Rescue 34? Also is Rescue 34 Considered a Type 1 Resource, Some of The Rescue units for other major departments I've seen are actually identified as USAR units instead of just a Rescue. Despite Rescue 34 not being designated as a USAR rig (IE USAR 34) Are you still considered a USAR resource?
The dive rescue most likely occured after they filmed and edited this video so they were unable to add that part and it will be featured in the next vlog
We use the soundoff system for its features/cost/reliability and to keep these trucks consistent. We also utilize whelen, code 3, and federal in other units. Thanks
@@okaythenification good morning Matt, I am starting to spec my personal IDT Tahoe for a new dispatch center down in Houston, TX. I was wondering if it would be possible to get the specs on how IDT11 is built? Thanks I’m advance.
SMFR does offer ride alongs and if you contact the PIO's im sure they could work something out, But at the moment I don't believe they are doing ride alongs due to COVID restrictions, but they might be updating it soon.
Hey Eric Kim if there was a fire at an under construction apartment complex would it go under a commercial structure fire or a multi family residential fire
is the surprise about like a day and the life of a fire fighter at station 21? Because i saw Nate's new videos and you responding with 21's crews of pulse point
I believe there will be a hiring cycle either at the end of 2021 or at some point in 2022, keep an eye out on southmetro.org on their careers section and if you have any questions reach out to the hiring department at employment@southmetro.org
First off beautiful truck!! But being a truck driver I got to ask! Why do you not have hood mirrors?? Also a freightshaker coming off the line fast I died laughing!!
Connor is doing some more strict office duties due to her being pregnant she should be back in the Fall/Winter of 2021 and @landon Palmer please don't joke around with those things.
@South Metro Fire Rescue- could you please program the Sound Off BluePrint system a little better and flash your trucks all red vs all blue thus creating a large footprint of warning instead of the large purple blob of lights that your BC trucks are now? This would really make all responders on the scene much safer and in turn limit liability for responders!
It appears as if they are busy at the moment, and theres a possibility of Eric being on vacation or something else since he has not really been responding to calls that PIO's would and are having Kim respond to them, and Connor can't preform the duties of a PIO since she is pregnent.
@@darthbari -> I don't know if those are highly compressed digital radios or if the video picked it up badly, but the dispatcher sounded computer generated.
The initial dispatch is automated and computer generated, but all other communications are still handled by an actual person. This has been the setup for South Metro for more than 15 years.
Whoever sent you that Dortmund patch - that patch is an outdated career firefighter patch. We have 9 career stations in Dortmund but also 19 volunteer stations responding 24/7.
I'm not gonna say this is the *strangest* collaboration I've seen on UA-cam yet, but it's certainly my favourite so far. SMFR and VASAviation!
Looking forward to a “fleet Friday” on the new technical collapse rescue unit

So I guess I am not the only one then thanks BFF babe

Can you guys do a day in the life of a wild land firefighter? A day in the life of a brush engineer?
A day in the life of a tree. In a forest fire. Titled: when evacuation is impossible. Kinda a horror/documini series.

Eric are you gonna do the day in the life of you on the fourth of july?
could you do a fleet friday on the old and new collapse 45 and a station 45 station saturday??
When covid restrictions ease up you should make a first day as a firefighter pt2 with another probie or do another shift with the first probationary
why was the dive rescue not in this video

that would be a good reason but the dive rescue happened 3 days before the air crash
Can we see the new collapse 45?

so do the drivers of the new collapse 45 need a cdl to drive it when you turn anyting witha long wheel base the back end will swing

is the surprise about like a day and the life of a fire fighter at station 21? Because i saw Nate's new videos and you responding with 21's crews of pulse point

no it was just Eric was responding on medical calls with station 21. And Nate saw them responding but i like where you're going
Good video. The tinkling music in the background is really distracting to those of us that have to utilize headphones while watching in our homes.
Why has the Med 1 a pushbar like a police car?
If a car needs pushed out of the way and it comes on Ford police cars most of the time
