This song is inspired by Gerrard (singer) and Mikey's (bassist) grandmother, she was very close and always supports them. she used to be a ballerina, that's why she danced in mv. In my opinion, the part when she awake and dances is an illustration when her soul flying into the sky. Well who knows? Gerrard's idea is wild, not surprising because he is a comic writer. By the way, Peni Parker (Spider-verse) and Umbrella Academy created and written by him

Gerard's captured expressions were incredible indeed. It is hard to replicate what he has been able to accomplish.
Also I've watched a couple interviews thar Gerrard was a part of and he said the dead girl not only represents a younger version of their grandmother and the dance represents her final dance before she descends on into the afterlife.

They said they weren't emo, and at first they hated being called that because during that time the emo culture and the punk music culture weren't as accepting with lots of things they believed in, so they distanced themselves from them, later on, as people kept calling them that, they said they just didn't care what people thought of them and for them they did rock, but that people could called them whatever they wanted

Expect to see a good mix of 30-40 year olds and then 12+ year olds at future MCR shows
The younger fan base who got into them post-breakup is huge. Very dedicated following across the board.
At the 2019 reunion show, Gerard asked how many in the audience were at their first ever MCR show, and a majority of hands were raised up lol

You'd piss the band off if you called them emo. They all have said, especially the lead vocalist, that they are simply just a punk band, and get offended when people say they're emo.

Yeah the singer is Gerard. I wasn't really a fan of them. Some of the people I hung out with in high school were fans. I was a senior when this came out.
Gerard Way is also a comic book writer. One of his comics was adapted by Netflix, Umbrella Academy.
