7:34 Do you know Filmon.... LOL! Asmera is not a little village where everyone knows every resident. Or is this Filmon guy a celebrity? By the way I am sure the taxi driver and his passenger wouldn't appreciate that you show the whole world what they were saying in private.
15:30 UTOPIA this young man is refering to the quality of the Eritrean people, despite the difficulties the Eritrean people keep their good values and morals intact!
    28:36 Castor
29:02 chickpeas, it starts like this🤣🤣! It is even tastier when you eat it raw just as they were doing it. This might be strange for someone who usually sees chickpeas in a bottle or plastic bags.
29:25 what is the name of this cafe, really? I love how he showed you the name.
31:50 well, if people want to use it why not? It is like keeping cars from the 50's don't you think?
36:32 Correction! Only those who can't open their own account not every customer because it sounds like she helps all their customers.

Hey brother, please use some sort of musical background to remove the conversations that the taxi cab driver and the lady were having. The driver and the lady that was seated in the front were talking about personal matter that they don’t want anyone to listen to. So, please be considerate about other people’s personal privacy. First, ask them if they want to be videotaped. Second, blur their faces. It’s not ethical to brandish people’s private life to the public. And they don’t have any idea that you will upload it to UA-cam. I hope you understand and be respectful to any country’s culture and traditions.

@@sebkedem9410 He needs to understand that being culturally humble and respectful society, and actually nice people to others, doesn’t make us a foolish society. We have a great tradition in our country that gives foreigners a great deal of respect. However, that shouldn’t be translated into saying that we don’t know anything. They could have snatched his camera and get him out of the country. But that’s not what we stand for. You can see the driver wasn’t too comfortable when he saw that he was being recorded in plain sight. But, like I said, as a society we are very shy to speak up for our cause, and often we choose to just let it go in order to avoid arguments. I hope he sees this comment thread and edit the video.

I was trying to see the areas of your video , the places I use to drive around. It changed somewhat, but still has the old look in some of the places. Haile Selassie came to our base and I remember he was a short guy, but a powerful Emperor. I and a few others got a villa and resided outside the gate. We even took trips on weekends to go to Massawa and did boat trips. Driving down the mountains from Asmara to the Red Sea is all memories now. I am from Hawaii, and I often think of Ethiopia. Asmara, Ethiopia was good to me the Country and the People.

Wow what a funky looking city. "Funky" in an interestingly good way. I'm in Rwanda at the moment, been travelling around and living in East Africa for just over a year. Going to Uganda next for a month or so, then back to Kenya for a few months. Ethiopia definitely on my list but now seeing Eritrea, I might have to make a stop there too...

It's a SHAME that after ALL this country has endured and survived, it will NEVER show any signs of progress so long as the DICTATORSHIP continues to rule the nation!!! Eritrea NEEDS a complete government overhaul with a NEW & YOUNG leadership following with a DEMOCRATIC government and TRUE FREEDOM to all!!! IT'S TIME FOR CHANGE!! ERITREAN PEOPLE DESERVE IT!!!! GOD BLESS ERITREA🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Thank you for visiting my beloved country as the same time I feel so sad looking into the hardship life that my people are going through the people who work hard, the people who are peaceful, the only people who live in harmony regardless their religion, the lonely streets, old cars, the unmaintained buildings and roads, shops filled with outdated stuff, youth waiting for an internet access in the internet caffe which is monitored by the regime and so on…….. makes me so sad. Our biggest and most beautiful city in Africa, Asmara used to be so beautiful. Today our biggest and beautiful city Asmara resembles a city aftermath a war - a deserted city. Two third of its people live in exile because of the totalitarian regime in Eritrea but I hope it is not going to be long before we all go back and see our families and friends again once the regime falls down.
