Hello there! Thank you so much for trying Donna's Recipe! We are sorry to hear that the products did not meet your expectations and assure you these products were made with love! We would like to offer some tips should you consider trying the products in the future. The products are designed for all hair types, including kinkier and tightly coiled strands. We do recommend either pre-pooing with our products or using our products as a deep conditioner when coming out of a protective style, particularly if the hair is drier than usual. The Leave-in Conditioner can be paired with the Strength Hair Oil as a pre-poo, and the Conditioner can be paired with the Strength Hair Oil as a deep conditioner. Also, adding low heat can provide a deeper penetration when using the conditioner (or deep conditioning duo). However, we do appreciate your honest review and thank you again for your purchase!
I love it. My hair is super dry low porosity and it lathered out the gate and the conditioner did give me slip and I loved it. My hair had been in braids for the past 6 months (different styles back to back) so I was expecting to need a deep deep conditioner but I did not have any of the issues she was complaining about. My hair is 4c and I’ve only used it once so far. Just got it and love it. This is your sign to buy it and love it too. Come on in the room baby💜
You know it's crazy because I've watched so many reviews on this line, then when it went on sale for black Friday i got the whole line. I loved every single thing that i used! After the shampoo my hair was so so soft. I used the conditioner and left it in for 3 hours under a plastic bag and my scarf (i had to take my son to school and that's how long it took until i felt like washing it out lol) and i swear it felt like it was a deep conditioner. I used the hair cream and the leave in only for styling my mini twists. I did them too small and took them out 5 days later and omg!!!! My hair was so soft, moisturized, and it was the most definition i ever had with no frizz. My hair always look so frizzy so that was a huge shock. I even texted my bf while he was at work to tell him that was the best wash day I've had in a long time. My hair is i would say a 4b,4c mix and maybe high to normal porosity. Not sure if that makes the difference. Maybe your hair just didn't like the bit of protein that's in it? Or it's just not for you i guess lol. I mean that's all hair products though i guess. Hit or miss depending all on you and your hair
@mzbeonita1 It's so crazy because I still rave about it to this day!!!! The only thing I've noticed is that the shampoo was so moisturizing for my hair the first time because it needed protein. I still love the shampoo but now I only use it every 2 to 3 weeks so it won't feel too clarified. Everything else is still the same and my favorite is the leave in. The only leave in that instantly softens my hair during application. Doesn't matter if it's dry or wet either. She made her line from magic fr 😍
I agree! Everything just won't work for everybody. That's the beauty of people. We're all different. I don't even watch many hair videos in hopes of wanting to try something. I just enjoy watching influencers who I'm subscribed to experience products lol
Honestly, I have wasted so much money on black products that would be called expensive. I tried enough lines to have learned a lesson. Some items I brought via UA-cam representations; others came across my FB or Instagram, but nothing actually worked for my 4cb hair, so I decided to stop spending so much money. Find me regular products which are working and go from there, items are too expensive to keep wasting my money. Oh I do buy products for black hair but nothing crazy anymore.
Hey Love! Love your videos and appreciate your review. In my opinion, I don’t think this was a cash grab and while there are other influencers who like her products , I understand it’s not for everyone, especially with all of our different hair types and porosity types. That said, I think her products are best used for styles like twist outs/braid outs, mini twists etc. in my experience it worked perfect for my mini twists. However I only used her leave in , her cream and creamy hair oil using the LCO method. I found that instead of packing on the product on my hair, rubbing it on my palms first sparking warmth, then applying to my hair, then following with a comb/detangle brush to evenly distribute it to my hair , it was absorbed it really well. Can’t speak for the shampoo and conditioner because I didn’t use them, but as for her stylers , they’re very rich, which is what my hair loves for these types of styles . I have very thick coarse, high porosity hair. And I applied all of this on stretched, blown out hair. Maybe try on your mini twists? Idk just trying to offer a different perspective. I also like her biotin gummies and only use the hair strength oil on my scalp . So far so good .been using for the past couple of months . & Hope you feel better too!
I love the leave in and hair cream. Moisture for 10 days. Holy Grail for me. I haven't tried any shampoos or conditioners. So I don't have opinion on those but those stylers are bomb.
I have not tried the shampoo or conditioner but the extra creamy hair cream and the extra creamy hair and scalp oil work great together on my 3c/4a hair...also works great for wearing my hair in a sleek bun (no gel needed) or braid/twist out...beware of the smell if you use too much😂a little goes a long way😊
K have the same hair type and just bought both the hair cream and scalp oil (it looks like a butter tbh). I need a creams that are moisturizing and will last so I’m glad this one works, gotta switch it up sometimes from Camille rose.😊
I really appreciate your honesty. There are so Many people getting behind bad products. You buy things based on someone's reviews 14:33 and it's garbage and a waste of money! Thank you!
We’re all influenced. we’re human. I like Tab so ima stand beside her…. Just not on this 😂. I just couldn’t even fake like I liked the products cause y’all woulda saw right through me lol.
Thank you for trying these products! I’ll admit, I don’t bother trying new hair care lines 😂 I stick with design essentials and omg that blue tansy deep conditioner you always recommend?? That things is amazing and worth every penny!
The leave in conditioner and the styling cream which you didn't have on a twist out has actually been really good in most reviews I've seen. Blowdrying it I think may have altered the results of the products. Sometimes using products in a way they're not meant to be used can effect the results you get.
yes I was a little confused by the blow-dry because I was under the impression Tabs products was "wash n go" like products? I could be wrong about that tho. ive never tried them
Totally fair if the products didn't work for you although I do believe it would have been more fair to try them under more ideal conditions when you weren't coming out of a protective style by your own admission was left in much longer than you usually do. The update at the end was a nice gesture but unfortunately most people wouldn't likely stay long enough to see that. Especially as black women I just like seeing us go the extra mile for each other vs holding each other to an even higher standard than the rest of the world expects of us. I typically your content very much but honesty felt like several things said in this video were in a bit of poor taste esp the 'cash grab' comment 😢 I'll still support your content but wanted to provide my honest perspective.
Also I think she needs to consider her hair’s porosity rather than concentrating on her curl type. Knowing her porosity will help her choose products that work better for her hair especially as far as retaining moisture.
Looking at how you just applied it, you used it very sparingly. You didn't apply it from root to ends, saturating your hair strains. Just my observation.
I’m actually shocked the sweet potato pie conditioner wasn’t a hit. I used to use sweet potatoes on my hair to deep condition with and my hair loved it! Guess there really is nothing like the real thing.
Hey @Jai Mari, I have 4b/4C hair such as yourself and I REALLY,REALLy wanted to love the line. However, the shampoo made my hair so dry I was afraid it would break right off. The conditioner has some pretty okay slip, but not the best. I will finish the product, but the two products are a fail for me.
I didn't even know that she came out with a hair line. Have you ever tried Pattern by Tracy Ellis Ross? I've been using the shampoo and conditioner and it's ok. I'm still looking. I'm glad you reviewed this so that I know not to try it.🥰😁
I haven't used her hair care line but I know some people who were excited about trying it. I'm guessing it's because it was made by her but I haven't heard any reviews from them 😂. I'm glad I saw your video. I felt your disappointment through the video though.
Lol I was. And I was sooo excited to try. My husband and son have been using the shampoo. Sometimes I’ll use the leave in on Isaiah’s hair. But it’s just not for ME.
I was excited when her line came out until I went to Ulta and smelled it. WAY TOO STRONG FOR ME😢. I was disappointed but I didn't feel bad because I have purchased / supported her other products (via her website and Target).

"Maybe this recipe is just for Donna"😂😂😂😂 Thank you for reviewing because I had it in my cart and was on the fence.
I say try it! ( but just keep the receipt just incase lol )
That statement was hilarious 😂
Try the strengthening oil with 18 different oils inside. It’s really good. I wasn’t intrigued to try anything else

That’s not true everyone has different hair and different hair u get different results

I agree with this comment . I had the same result. I love it.

Why would you use the conditioner without water??? I’m lost. Am I wrong? It appeared you put the conditioner on dry hair.

Thank you for your honest opinion! I tried the entire line as well and only a few of them worked on my 4c hair!
I really appreciate your honesty.

I told myself I would try more products this year. So here I am. Lol
Why are you putting the conditioner on dry hair though.....im confused.

I don’t think not blow drying would of made a difference honestly. But maybe? I won’t be finding out lol

Loooove the honesty 😅😂 I can totally relate. Let's check these products
I think the reason your hair might feel softer after applying heat is because the heat helps the cuticles lay down our hair strands.
I thought heat raised/opened the cuticles?
Actually heat opens the cuticles.
Also I think she needs to consider her hair’s porosity rather than concentrating on her curl type. Knowing her porosity will help her choose products that work better for her hair especially as far as retaining moisture.
Thank you for your honest. I tried this and it did nothing for me. I unfortunately fell for the hype. It did not moisturize my hair at all.
Thanks for the review and the update. Being that your hair was so dry and neglected for months I'm glad that you tried it again.
Big ups for an honest review..much appreciated
I wash my hair once a week and tried the shampoo and leave in . The shampoo made my hair feel very dry . My hair is similar to yours
Yeah. My mother in law felt the same as you. She actually ended up washing her hair 1 day later just to get the smell out and soften it back up. 🤷🏽♀️
How often do you blow your hair?
Probably every 3-4 weeks.
Love the honesty and Ty
Tabitha Brown done sold ya'll some marked up Pert Plus with a sweet potato label on it lol
Not Pert Plus! Lol
I love the smell! My favorite product in the line was the hair oil.
That’s the only product I tried and I love it. I’m not interested with anything else in her line. 🤷🏽♀️
Hi what kind of blow dryer is that, thanks.
Dyson
Thanks for letting me know! With my texture hair I would probably have the same results as you!
Hey @Jai Mari, I have 4b/4C hair such as yourself and I REALLY,REALLy wanted to love the line. However, the shampoo made my hair so dry I was afraid it would break right off. If anything, this helped detangle my hair. I could not find the oil
Try chebe butterit leaves your hair moisturized chebe shampoo conditioner and butter
Yay!!am here for wash days🎉

I appreciate your honesty. I like the moisturizer. It made my curls pop, but I haven't tried anything else.
💙
@@JaiMarii Are you 4c?
Thank you for this video! Cause I was iffy if I should try it.
I can’t with these celebrity lines 😩😩 they be 😏😏
Thanks for the review!
💙
I will be saving my coins. Thanks.
😂😂😂😂 you are tellin' it like it T eye is with the protective style.
I hope you feel better soon.
I just purchased the line of products
You might like them! Everyone’s hair is different!
I thought her line was just okay too. Smells great tho!
I love the strengthening oil!
I hate the trial and error with products. I have soooo many products that didn't work.
I was excited when her line came out until I went to Ulta and smelled it. WAY TOO STRONG FOR ME😢. I was disappointed but I didn't feel bad because I have purchased / supported her other products (via her website and Target).
Hmm watched this after purchase. I thought I was being too picky, but I too was not impressed especially for the price.
Ok I thought I was tripping cause I was like what’s this 🥴😂
Tabs, her daughter husband son and dogs hair texture all seem 3C 🤷🏽♀️
Yeah I didn't like it either.
Too much talk
