I got up this morning and out of no where starting singing Transformation Crusade lyrics. I had to look them up. I don't think I still have their music but I like to. Still edifying and enjoyable in 2018 as in 1990.
I was listening to King of Glory just now and said, "This guy sounds like Marvin Sapp." I never knew Marvin was part of Commissioned 'til I read your comment. Wow!
Man you just don't know how long I've been looking for this song on you tube. I'm talking about years. This brings me back to my childhood. Man I loved this song. Thanks for the upload. or should I say thanks for making it happen!!!!
Quite a bit actually. I was born in Brooklyn and lived in the South Bronx off of Fordham Rd. My aunt lived near the Bronx Zoo on 181st. Grandmaster Flash & the crew used to hang out on the corner and Kool Herc used to have block parties. I was a rapper myself and was steeped in the culture of Hip Hop. I'm glad I didn't pursue it any further. By the way, this is not Hip Hop. This is rap. Rhythm and poetry is simply one the four elements of Hip Hop. Hip Hop refers to the culture. A culture I left behind when I got saved. The term "Gospel Hip Hop" is an oxymoron.
I was actually giving you props for uploading this classic. I was introduced to this group from another fan of the pioneering years of Gospel Rap which became Gospel Hip-Hop to those Artist who followed after. Those early rappers who got saved created their own christian hip-hop culture do to lack of support from the usual traditional church. I used to support, research, interview artists and follow this movement since the days of DC Talk (I'm actually older than I sound...LOL). I also found it AMAZING that the Black Church movement didnt embrace these Artists like they should have, but the White Christian community embraced it FULLY. Plus, I was the former manager of the 1st Lady of Christian Hip-Hop, LadyJAM (JAM stands for Jesus Anointed Me).. So, I was speaking from my grassroots experience.. Have to have you on my Radio show to tell your story soon.. ;)
I know you were giving me props. You always do. I was simply expressing that this is not Hip Hop, plain and simple. This is rhythm and poetry. Hip Hop has no place in the kingdom of God. It has its own culture and message. Kool Herc, Flash, lovebug Starski, Afrika Bambaataa, KRS One, etc. will tell you that this is not Hip Hop. Some may say that I am splitting hairs on this, but I would have to disagree. I know the truth about Hip Hop and this is not it.
Oh, @Gospel Nostalgia, thank you so much for supplying this song! I also apologize for the problems you've had with uploading this song. I've worked in youth ministry for years, and Transformation Crusade's recording was one of the rap groups my teenage sons introduced me to back then. This group would "preach" to those young people, so I loved listening to them, as well. The 90s were filled with all kinds of messages, so I was thankful to God for this! I would be led to write plays and skits to help teach kids to spread God's Love. Now adults in their 30s and 40s, they continue to put the Father God first in everything, and l sincerely praise Him for keeping them both, as well as my daughter. I'm truly sorry for causing any unwanted issues, though. May the Father continue keeping you walking in victory as He leads you, and showers you with His Perfect Peace!
You're welcome. It's not a problem. Glad to do it. As for the pushback, that happens. I am only concerned about truth and will stand on it. When the last breath has been taken and the dust has settled, only the truth will be standing. When you provide the facts to people and they reject it and persist in their error, it is called "willful ignorance" (Hos. 4:6; 1 Cor. 14:38; 2 Pet. 3:5). The prophets, Jesus, the apostles, etc. have all faced this, but the truth did not and cannot change. As a bishop, I have been dealing with this stuff for almost 29 years now. I learned a long time ago not to dwell on negativity. As one of my bishops used to say, "Don't think about it with your little mind, less more your big mind". There is much wisdom in that counsel.
You're welcome. I will not be uploading any more songs from this album or any other RAP. This song already has 9 dislikes. The majority of my subscribers do not like RAP and do not expect it at this channel.

Who remember....rap song buggin? This song has some of that in it listen to intro😊
I LOVED Transformation Crusade!!!! Especially loved the one where they go through the books of the bible!
Me too. They were awesome. Very positive.
That was actually P.I.D. and their song "Get You a Bible."
No it wasn't, I've never even heard (of) that song before. I believe it's "What Cha Gonna Do With the Cross?"
stoots249 the song where they went through the books of the bible was called " the statement".
Darren Roberts ok, thanks for clarifying that. I wasn't sure if it was "the statement" or "whatcha gonna do with the cross"
Thanks for this! If you have the rest of the album I’d love to listen to it too!
