    I definitely find that speed is my friend. If I get bogged down too long in a track I end up tweaking it forever. My best tracks happened when I forced myself to finish them quickly.

    You’re like the perfect mix of actual pro-level producer (who definitely should have lots of commercial success with music) and great to-the-point- teacher. Thanks! 🙏🏻

    I do Folk and Acoustic stuff mainly. Sometimes Rock, sometimes Funk and other stuff but never EDM. However I am a longtime subscriber. Your vids are so on point and transfer so well into other genres. Great stuff man, thumbs up!

    • @IanSolano
      @IanSolano 2 роки тому

      So true! Keep it simple. You don’t need so many sample packs, VST’s and plugins. As you and Big Z said, stick to the ones you like and learn them front to back.

    • @ItsAzeza
      @ItsAzeza 2 роки тому

      @@IanSolano so true 💯, I never master 1 plugin, for compression/reverb , etc
      Never selected my fav samples that's why I left few of my projects which are not yet completed indubitably. Now way to go pumped up for organising everything

    Pretty amazing, I now start with the main melody & then create the drum pattern that goes with the melody & bass lines

    This is just what I needed. I've spent over a month making my first song and I would still learn/try new things throughout. I should start something new but it's hard to leave something good when it could become great.
    That said, moving onto other projects indeed would give me more experience and creativity. Thanks for the great vid brother!

    • @thenewtiafey
      @thenewtiafey 2 роки тому +1

      If you really like the track, think of it less as a "goodbye" and more of a "see you later"- you can always come back and apply all the things you learned from working on other things :)

    • @electropocalypse5877
      @electropocalypse5877 2 роки тому

      @@thenewtiafey That's a great point. It's at a stage where I have perfect EQ/mastering, basic modulation and tons of instruments layered together. The parts I'm nervous about are using complex modulation and synths with many knobs. I'm pretty good with Synth1 now so the others should (hopefully) be not too hard too learn.
      Thanks again for the phenomenal work you do. 🙂

  • @kiillabytez
    @kiillabytez 14 днів тому

    You are absolutely correct. 99% of Producers mix like producers. It's the 1% (Chris Lord Alge for instance) mix like a Consumer. This is why he's so quick in getting a mix finished even though a lot of his projects have over 100 tracks on them.
    So, just stop worrying about getting a perfect sound when at the end of the day, nobody but you cares that you used 10 snare samples to get that killer snare sound, or how you got those six synths to work together. Just get the music done!

    Great ideas in here. I create full templates, including song structure so I can make a full song, just by making a melody and chord progression. Only if the idea is worth it I will work on making it unique. The biggest gem from this video for me is using a sampler to have all your favorite kicks, snares and whatever together instead of looking through files and directories. Thanks for the inspiration.

    Also, this might seem like logic to a lot of people, but wasn't for me. Try to download free sample packs from different sources that exactly match the style you're making. This will greatly improve your workflow as the sounds you drag in from that sample pack are already in the style you're making so you don't really have to fine tune them which I used to do all the time (for example I used to use only KSHMR and Cymatics sample packs)
    For instance, I make 2 genres the most: future bass and future house/bounce. I have 3 packs that I use the most for those genres because they exactly have the samples that I need (like fills etc.)
