You most definitely show the life of a truck driver, it could be lonely, but, to me, I think that I could talk to myself more often, and have ideas that sometimes amazes me, well, enjoy your job Dan, I work driving localy or regional, I enjoy it even though pays little, but, it pays the bills. Joe.
National Lampoon's Vacation was one of my favorites...still is to this day. The family truckster, the girl in the red Ferrari (Christie Brinkley), cousin Eddie, Aunt Edna, Walley World. 🙂👍
Hello Dan and Bailey that cab over is a classic beauty don't see those often please keep the videos rolling you and Bailey have a blessed trip and come home safe my friend. Dan when you are home do you ever listen to the local radio station The Cave 🦕?????
Cab over Freight Shaker. I drove a 1981 pulling flat bed. No heat or ac to speak of. 300 hp Cummins with 7 speed Spicer transmission no range selector. If you missed a gear going up an incline you were screwed. LOL AM and cb radio was it. It did have a air ride seat. 1985 my first driving job. It was tough back then. I could only dream about a truck like yours back then.
Hi Dan, With all the issues EFS is having with the skimmer thefts, you can load your cards and still get your points utilizing their apps to pump fuel (Loves, Pilot/Flying J, and others) without ever having to take your cards out of your wallet. Check the card readers at the Mom and Pops truck stops before swiping the cards. It is getting rough out there and EFS takes their time replacing funds lost to fraud. Stay Safe Dan. Enjoy the County fair.
You talking about memories of the cabover. Back in the 70s a truck driver friend of mine wanted me to do a pen and ink drawing of his cabover for a Christmas gift for another driver that drove that truck too. Buy the time i was done i had done 12 drawings for each of the drivers. I had cabover cramps from doing all of them. I didn,t want to see another cabover the rest of my life. But now they do bring back fond memories. Safe travels.
Good video. In 81-83 I drove an F Model cab over Mack with a 42 foot Dorsey trailer with spreads on air and it was the same paint job that cab over had, plus I had a side kit so I painted that to match! Looked nice. Thanks for bringing good memories to me and please keep the videos coming. My wife and I always enjoy riding with you.
Truck and trailer looking good Dan, Little Bailey looking like she's a happy camper 😁 Teresa and you have fun at the fair be safe take care yourselfs DAN
While sailing on the old triple expansion steam engine ships of olde...in port when engine is FWE (finished with engine)....we would check all the nuts and bolts with a TEST HAMMER. You TAP the NUT and the SOUND will sound TIGHT or LOOSE. Try it and you will see the differents. We had PUNCH MARKS in the Bolt Head and on the nearby casing web or mounting surface. There was also 2 punch marks there as a standard. Using the Standard setting on your Machinist Dividers ....you would spread the divide legs apart to this standard measurement. You would then use this settle to take a reading on the Bolt Head to its settling TIGHT Punch Mark. If it was loose, you would apply the sledgehammer box wrench to the bolt and hammer it back to the Right Position (Tight Settling previous marked when the bearing were make and fitted on the crankshaft mains. Anyway....old school is a TAPPING HAMMER for TIGHT/Loose .
I remember The Grease Man. So Dan...you ever hear of Wolfman Jack? Way back in the day when I was OTR hauling swinging beef east into the Northeast, at just about Walcott, Iowa on I-80 I'd tune into a Chicago FM radio station and listen to the 'Wolfman' all the way into western Ohio. That was when DJ's did a lot of their own commercials. To this day I can hear The Wolfman saying 'don't you know wearing Levi's is better then wearing jeans.' Enjoying your videos...they bring back fond memories!
Yes sir! That was Busch Stadium. Home of the 11 time world champion St. Louis Cardinals! Looks like you passed through my neck of the woods off I64 just east of the river.
I was about to tell you that you were in 'Bevier' MO at the Loves and you mentioned how you got there by going west on I-70 from St Louis and exited at Columbia and went north. You were on US highway 63 at that point and you drove right through my town of Moberly MO. I live just west of the highway. I would have waved if I knew you were there! I really enjoy your videos. Say HI to Bailey for me.
Dan its probably nothing but the security nut in me, the latch or pin that locks your door on the inside, shouldnt have a knob on it, should be smoothe. someone could use a coat hanger in the form or a small circle and insert it thru the top of your window and open your door. just a stupid thought although i hate chrome i always had smoothe locking pins.
That's too funny you mention the Greaseman. He originated out of WAPE radio here in Jax FL and then went to DC until he got cancelled. He had a small resurgence in the early 2000's and then retired I guess (maybe just didn't get the ratings). I've seen him at live appearances a couple times but his radio stuff is legendary. Definitely an old-school DJ.
Hey Dan. Happy to hear you will be able to make it to your county fair with the Mrs. Events like that have been sorely missed the past two crazy years. When you said you offered your shower card to guys, I was trying to figure out exactly how you did that. You surely could not go up to someone and ask if they wanted to take a shower ;-) Say safe.
One Tsp per cup Dan. It will make you mud less muddy and your coffee taste like coffee. If a little weak to your liking, then a tsp and 1/2. To one cup of Joe Beans. Been using this method for many years with some of the hardest coffee snobs around and they all (95%) of them say I make the best cup! Add a little cinnamon too with a hint of 50/50 cream..... boy....o...boy Dan. You will love it!
To you and other truckers videos. Thank you for getting us out the house and down the road. Seeing different sites and trucks. It beats what's on the 📺. To you and yours B SAFE 🚛💨💨💨
Good Morning Dan I listened to THE GREASEMAN in the 80's ....when he was in Jacksonville. Times have sure changed. His stuff wouldn't never maķe it on air today. I actually have all his albums. Be safe and keep on trucking. Luv your music.
I went up in the arch a few years back. It was pretty cool. There's little cars inside you ride to the top where there's an observation compartment. There's some really nice views!
When you was on I29 if you would of took Hwy 34 East to Corning you would have been close to us. Would be great to meet up with you some time. Be safe out there.
i remember getting a blue ribbon for my lamb. i was still too young to know that my lamb might of gotten slaughtered or used for wool. our county fair seemed to go up in pricing, that it got so expensive, not many regular folk would show up. might show up but not spend anything on rides or food. i never went, was always too poor to go, lol.
your chat about loose bolts. when i was a mechanic we would just do a walk around. if a bolt has a stain going down from it you will have a loose bolt. it makes every thing a lot faster. the inspectors would tap the bolt head, they had a light with a mike fixed to it. of course they were in a pit they didn't miss much. my commet was always a clean chassis and a coat of fresh paint would cover a lot of sin.
Man I haven't thought about Greaseman in years I that was the highlight of running that part of the country loved his show thanks Dan for the memories love your videos!!!
Chevy Chase made the mistake of getting off on East St. Louis. Lol. I did that one time. Instead to turning to go to T/A and racetrack I ended up in downtown East St. Louis. I was in a reefer and cops saw me and knew I took a wrong turn..😂😂
500 miles plus two nights in a row!!!!!! Color me impressed 😂
Old Girls are Hard to Find and also Good to Find. 😬👍 Never seen a Cabover with a Guard but understand why he has it. 👍

The Gateway Arch and the Old Busch Stadium (torn down in 2006) were both Completed in 1966. That was the Current Busch Stadium. 👍
Lived in Baltimore my whole life. Love Nino Greasemanelli. 😀
Haba do ga ga. Haba do gaga!!! And if he heard your truck, blitty bladder, blitty bladder when the jakes kick in!!!! lol Good old days on DC101.

Good you didn't have to worry about foul balls. Nice scenery!
LOL It looked like you were about to microwave your bread. But it makes sense to store it in that unused space.
Bailey would make a really good burglar alarm 🚨if you ever have to temporarily leave your truck. 😬👍
Greaseman was funny as hell, was in DC late 80s he was a regular rock 101.1 in the morning
National Lampoon's Vacation was one of my favorites...still is to this day. The family truckster, the girl in the red Ferrari (Christie Brinkley), cousin Eddie, Aunt Edna, Walley World. 🙂👍
Happy Wife!....Happy Life!.....sometimes ya just gots to do what it takes to keep them happy!....take care and safe travels!
Ya' gatta go where the Chief Despatcher (WIFE) sends ya.
There's a guy who runs wood/shingles down to Sierra Vista in a yellow cabover, really a sharp looking truck.
Hello Dan and Bailey that cab over is a classic beauty don't see those often please keep the videos rolling you and Bailey have a blessed trip and come home safe my friend. Dan when you are home do you ever listen to the local radio station The Cave 🦕?????
Good for you Dan! Enjoy!
Very kind of you to share your shower credits.
I always think of Redd Foxx when I drive thru St Louis...
Wow I seen you on i80 or i90 today and I thought that was you!!! Once you said you are carrying bob cats that conformed that it was! That’s awesome!

Stones Truck Stop. Your in my neck of the woods. just 51 miles from me. Stopped there many times.
The name of my uniform said Greasemanelli; my men knew me as Sgt. Fury!!!
Bailey is so attentive when you speak as if she is the only dog in the world lucky enough to ride beside her Alpha Poppa...

Took my road test in 1974 in a cab over freightliner. Didn't have the wheel base that one had but it was cool none the less.
