I agree. It's not just about playing the songs, its also about the good ol' tri-vocals harmonies Gabe, Tyler and Heath had on the first album (and a bit on the second). Even some of the cover songs they did had a seamless transition.

Their tri vocal work was really good, I liked the fact that they all sang individual songs plus did back up vocals, the sad thing is after this record they went downhill like The Starting LIne at least for me,

I wish I was there. But I was at the LA Troubadour one. They played two shows in Jan/Feb 2004 prior to the Spring tour and FWYK album dropping.
From this to cobra starship. What a tragedy. This entire album marks my intro into adulthood. I played the shit out of this song in particular for almost 2 years straight. It still to this day holds up as one of the best songs ever created, imo. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it. I absolutely hated CS. I gave them a try just because it was Gabe and I loved midtown. But it never grew on me. Miss the old drive thru sound way too much.
Midtown never had the big fandom that carried them through like the other bands. They did have a loyal base, and I was fortunate to meet many of them, and follow along on message boards and more. Also great to have known and talk with the guys on many occasions and see them during the Reunion shows.
@@krazywane I only got to see them once, they opened for fall out boy. Academy is and gym class heroes were the openers. It was right around the time they put their last album on a major label, and I got to see them do this song. It was great. Met them afterwards too, gave was one of the nicest guys I’ve met from that era of pop punk. Super down to earth. I just ended back up on this video 6 months later, lol, I can’t get enough. If they ever do another reunion show, I’m there. Are they still in jersey? Or all over the place. I love in Delaware so if they did it in jersey or ny I’d be there in a heartbeat.
@@christopherkimber7679 Hahaha dude, I know that tour! I’ve seen so many shows over a 3 years period, right before they disbanded, and saw the reunion show. All the guys are great! Doubtful they’ll do another but who knows. Gabe moved to LA with wife and kids (though they maintain their place in New York) and works on his TAG music management. Tyler works in the fashion world with his wife, and he’s an executive now I believe. Heath and wife and kids are still in Jersey I think, and he has great job but has also been doing some music stuff lately since he was a member of Senses Fail as well. Rob, still himself haha with his independent label, and he runs this Bodega Cat Insta, Fb, and Twitter page I think. I’m sure I follow all of them so I keep tabs lol

Yup, from his humble days to him being hitched in a few months.....did you see the old Midtown recording of one of their live shows from 1999? It's on YT here somewhere and part of my Midtown playlist. Someone converted their VHS recording and uploaded it and Gabe retweeted my tweet to him. Douche bag is too busy to email me back...grrrr.....I'll crash his wedding if he doesn't! Hahaha

What goes up, must come down...don't get me wrong, I love that Gabe and the guys/gal is enjoying this success and living it up. I hope they continue to strive but with everyone passing year, new music comes onto the scene, kids grow up...Gabe knows this well, from grunge to punk to this, so yeah, Midtown can be relived one day even if it's only for a brief reunion show with no new music....never say never :)

I agree! I've been saying that ever since Cobra got so big...it could happen still maybe. Heath left Senses Fail recently. It wouldn't last though, Cobra is way too big now...
