*You can keep the money in FD & earn the compounding interest for 5 years. Load carrying capacity is better in petrol vehicles. I personally feel EV is expensive to buy. Unless the cost is cut down by 25% to 30%, petrol is still a good option.*

Dear I took load test , tripling no problem on ola , also per day I was spending 100 on petrol , after five years it's 1.5 will be spend on petrol plus one lac scooter cost , on ev even after 5 years if u against spend 50 k on batteries still u are saving 1 lac
Excellent detailed video. I want to add on few points. First is there is some energy loss during each cycle so overall you should consider 4 Units of electricity used for 3 KWHr battery instead of 3. Secondly it's better to consider electricity unit as 7 or 8 per unit as in most of the cases you will fall into that bracket for electricity. Thirdly if you can see now alleged battery costs for ola S1 pro(4wh) is somewhere in 80K plus, so even if the cost of lithium ion batteries fall down after 5 years it's not going to make a big dent on its current prices. We may consider 10% of reduction. The reason is simple, companies have to earn profit and just selling Scotter at decent prices won't cut it for revenue growth of any company. Hence prices of batteries are on higher side. Again it depend on company to company but looks like currently we 60% of whole ev cost comes from battery. I am a supporter of EV but I think you may have to re do calculations. This topic is complicated.
I support this view, and i have the following points:
1. The efficiency of the charger needs to be considered. For example, if the charger is 80% efficient then to charge 1 unit it will take in 1/0.8 units = 1.25 units.
So , to charge 3 units, the charger will take in 3 x 1.25 = 3.75 units.
2. The charge retention of the battery may come down with time and number of charging cycles, which will reduce the range per charge. so that needs to be factored in and an average value of range needs to be taken for the calculations.

Excellent video....no doubt the running cost of EV is low, but the Battery cost matters a lot.....Pertol scooter carries a resale value after 8-10 years, but in case of EV , the value depends on the Battery. If the replacement cost of Battery is around 20% to 25% of the value of the scooter, then it is worth buying otherwise Petrol will remain a better option.
You will not get any resale value of petrol vehicle after 8 to 10 years from now.
While considering on road price you are taking onroad price of normal scooter , like hero etc but for milage you are comparing with high end bikes.. you should use on road price of ola or ather..

I live in Patna, Bihar aur yahan thand ke din mein subah mein most of the time scooty start karne waqt self Kam nahin karta lekin since petrol gadi mein kickstart bhi deta hai to wo aise emergency situation mein bahut Kam aata hai.. ab humko ye batao ki petrol gadi mein bhi selfstart battery se connect rahta hai aur thande din me start nahin hota hai aur electric gadi bhi total battery per hi Kam karta h hai to ismein bhi thand ke din mein Aisa problem aayga??? to isme kya solution hai???
Are bhai ev ko thand se koyi nuksan nhi petrol me self to kaam krti hai but petrol engine ke andar ignite nhi ho pta temp low hone ke kaarn isme battery or starter motor ka koyi issue nhi.

Any Vehicle must run upto 10 years minimum or more. I have multiple scooters and one of them is 16 years old and crossed 1.10 lakh kms..... and still its running well. EV can't be trusted like that.... The point is we don't and should not change vehicles frequently because its a long term investment.
But most of the people changes bike/scooty in few years
@@swarnendunandi3149 But the 2nd hand scooter has resale value. Electric scooter have 0 resale value as 2nd hand buyer will have to shell out over 50% of the new scooter cost for battery itself. Moreover, electric battery won't last 5 years with 45000km usage.

running cost is not my concern. I like technology over conventional things. My problem is will electric scooters be good to commute with double seats with a weight of 170kg for long distances like 80KM in one day (occasionally)?

Very informative video. Very good presentation. You are very positive for EVs but please think practical also.
My observation is that running cost is the only USP of EVs. But in smaller cities, the average running is 15 KM per day. So for 5 years overall comparison considering the battery replacement cost, it won’t make a big difference. Also, for most of families, monthly electricity consumption is more than 100 units, so the unit cost is also more than rs 7. Even in apartments, it is little difficult to charge the vehicle in parking areas. Most important is the cost of battery replacement is not going to come down considerably at least in next 5 years. The cost of EVs is also increasing. Good EVs are costing not less than 1.5 lakh .

हिसार से लिया था मंत्रा की सुपर राइडर ई बाइक 16 जनवरी 23 में अभी तक ठीक चली लेकिन अब 8 km चलती है फूल चार्ज करने पर 1 घण्टा में फुल चार्ज हो जाती है..कंपनी कुछ नहीं कर पा रही है कंट्रोलर में खराबी बताया वो रिप्लेस करवा लिया अब भी वैसे ही 8 km ही चल पा रही है..कृपया इसे कोई न् ले मैं फस गया😢

Good quality ev price - 1.30 lakh whereas a good petrol scooter comes arround 1 lakh. Charging is not easy in appartments. Battery cost is high - need to replace battery in every 5 year

Ola battery is covered for warranty for 3 years only. So, after 3 years, there is no guarantee. Also, if one runs for 9000+km every year, electric battery won't last beyond 3 years

Running Cost must less than Service Cost.
Lets take Jupiter, 110k on road price. 40kmpl mileage. Service cost- 350rs Castrol oil + 150-200rs labour every 2500km. And spark plug and filter change every 10-12k km - under 500rs.
Average Joe city running is 4km/day. Occasional long ride under 40km.
Now comparing it with any EV around 1 lakh. Range anxiety is not an issue.
But battery change is sure after 7 years for sure, might cost more than 40k for sure. Service centre time is more due to long queues. However no need to stand in line for petrol.
Service is an another excuse to earn money by the company, so it is not as cheap as it should be.
Considering battery change, its just same.
What about battery performance degrading because of ageing? Battery gives non linear performance by time
Same goes for engines also
They also wear and tear
And even if you replace battery then you had to consider next 7 years to it.

Why you not detailed about On road price cost / Battery replacement Cost,,, good evs aren't under 1 lakh and after adding battery replacement cost it seems like not a worthy option to buy evs. Its good for today but in future it is not good when I actually calculate

According to this calculation petrol scooter sasta padega because koi bhi 90k wala local ev tho lega ni so ev 1.5-1.6l ka aayega + 3 saal baad battery change hua tho uska 60-70k alag se lag jayega so overall petrol scooter sasta padega and after 5 year koi bhi petrol scooter 2nd hand kharid lega but ev scooter koi bhi ni kharidega 2nd hand according to me go for petrol scooter

N u are never making video on real n true review of people who bought ev. Only taking data from ev company sites n comparing n explaining like policybazar. N creating n maintaing a hype of ev unnecessarily . Go to reality feedbacks n reviews of people rather than seeing from websites n shouting
City people ride much fewer kms. Even lower than 4km per day.
They mostly buy scooters less than 1lakh.
Average mileage is 40kmpl.
Considering all that, are EVs worth it! 😊

just correct charges of electricity , i m in gujarat and per unit charge is 6rs but if you average out bill amount /allunit it cost me 10 rs that is because of other charges and all. so it would be 30rs per charge
