Better comparision would be between Activa 6G 125 (Top model) vs OLA S1 for 10 years.
Ola (with battery replacement) = Rs. 2,76,869
Activa = Rs. 5,94,057
i.e. huge diff of Rs. 3,17,188
Bajaj Chetak is overpriced 1. To eat FAME2 subsidy, 2. To protect their ICE business
Below is the breakdown for cost of ownership. I made below 2 assumptions
1. I am assuming battery needs to replace after 5 years which is not true. Battery will easily last 10 years with reduced range.
2. Considered 100% avg. elect. price inflation i.e. 20/KWh for highest slab for 10 years compared to current rate (10KWh), whereas for petrol 70% price hike for 10 years (current is Rs. 106/ltr)
Ola S1:
On-road Cost Ola S1 in Nagpur = Rs 1,12,000
Average electricity cost for 10 years = Rs 20/KWh
Battery 3.97KWh
Cost per charge = 20 x 3.97 = Rs. 79.4
10 years average mileage of S1 = 85 KM/charge
Cost per KM = 79.4 % 85 = Rs. 0.93/km
Price per 25 KM = 25 x 0.93 = Rs 23.25
10 years cost of running = 23.25 x 365 x 10 = Rs. 84,863
10 year approx maintenance cost = 3000 x 10 = 30,000
Battery cost after 5 years = Rs. 50000 (Battery will literally last for 10+ years. )
Ownership cost = 1,12,000 + 84,863 + 30,000 + 50000 = Rs. 2,76,869
Activa 6G 125 Dlx - Fx(BS-VI) (nowhere near in terms of features & Performance to OLA):
On-road price in my city Nagpur = Rs. 1,02,807
Average estimated price of petrol for 10 years = Rs. 150
Average 10 years mileage = 30km/ltr.
Cost per KM = 150 % 30 = Rs 5/km
Daily running = 25KM
10 years cost of running = 5 x 25 x 365 x 10 = Rs. 4,56,250
10 year approx maintenance cost = 3500 x 10 = 35000
Ownership cost = 1,02,807 + 4,56,250 + 35,000 = Rs. 5,94,057

Research is good but here is the changing factor:
Electric Motor has Less Life then compares to IC engine so in loger run it will not give the range and will need to replace which is the 60-70 ℅ price of the total Scooter.
Where as the Ic engine will last for almost 15 years with just normal Maintaining cost.
At the end you can use Petrol Scooty as you want.

Electric motors live way way longer than ICE as ICE has hell lot of moving parts plus there is lot of friction, chemical reactions and heat is involved and that's the reason even after 100+years of optimization best ICE cannot go beyond 60% efficiency. Where as electric motors in at a very basic level has a copper coil which rotates the rotor using electro magnet machnism which involves no moving part or physical touch/friction with very very low part involve and can go as high as 90%+ efficiency.
I will be buying EV .... It not only save my money..but good for environment (+ no noise pollution... You can say much less noise pollution)

the conclusion is based on Absolute Value, However it should be done on NPV or IRR based.(To arrive at close to accurate numbers)

Chetak is far better in cost savings
Actually u not need to change battery upto 70000kms(claimed by Bajaj)
If required to change battery u will need to just change cells in it
My 3yr old Activa giving 35-40kmpl mileage after spending ₹1000/mnth on service
Chetak 1.5yrs old doesn't requires a single penny of service
and I installed 3KW Solar system (cost 1.8L) for electricity generation so I can say say my electricity charge is negligible
My both scooter runs 15-20km/day
But at weekend we use only chetak 👍
Buy EV..save money..go green
In your example.. if you select BOUNCE INFINITY E1 it will cost you only 85000. Range will be 70 km per charge and it will make much more sense than Bajaj Chetak. Further, 3 years and 45000 km of warranty. So, that will make much more sense.
Simple easy to understand. Great content. As Indians we will go for EV at mass scale only in following scenarios
1. Law that doesn't allow petrol 2 wheelers
2. Petrol costing astronomically high that EV is better value for money.
3. EV vehicle becomes cheaper or equal to the price of petrol vehicle.

Sir, just on excel show 25KM per day on average. It happens only on paper. In reality some days 0 KM some days 100 KM. Can you go to a place which is 50 KM from your home?? turn around range needed 100 KM. True range claimed is 90 KM (Ather 450X). Charging time 4.5 HRS
Maybe you will wait on road to charge it for hrs

Electricity Rate might not be correct as Electricity billing cycle repeats monthly and unit rate also depends upon Unit slabs where your unit reading false at the end of month.. As reading increase, the unit rate will drastically increased in next slab which will impact heavily electricity billing at the end of month.. Make a note of this all..
Even if you consider highest Slab electricity rate, it will be still cheaper to drive EV.
I will prefer petrol.... As battery gets older performance gets down also with double seat performance of EV is less... on rough road also EV don't perform well... Also battery replacement after few yrs adds major cost

Buy Petrol Vehicle and invest the surplus money which you save around 1 lakh in MF for 6 years. Petrol vehicle will be feasible option then
Compair to petrol byke E byke making cost is very low, then why selling double rates if manufacturers sell 70 to 80k also it's good coast for them, 5years petrol charges extra they are taking

How is it found useful in the long run?
You should consider the rise in petrol cost over 6 years span to get the real figures. Petrol prices will soar till then. Not considered in current calculation.
Remove the battery replacement cost as it will reduce in the future not increase .

I will go by Aastha logic... In my society in Pune, I see only 3 EVs 2 wheelers out of 80 2 wheelers... That is very poor show. For last 5 years we r listening about EVs .but it has not become a trend yet. Still 96% people buying petrol vehicles.

१०० किलोमिटर range वाली और कमसे कम 35 km/hour गती वाली EV भी बहोत अच्छी है ( वैसै मार्केट में ज्यादा परफोरमंस वाली है सब , फिर भी समझाने हैतु )
लाखो रूपए आरामसे बच जाएँगे ५ साल में
५ साल की वॉरंटी भी है EV पे
और क्या चाहीए

Considering how many renewable resources go into actually manufacturing lithium ion batteries and EVs, in general ... it's actually just as bad, if not worse than using petrol vehicles.
I think you want to say natural resources not renewable resources.
Carbon emissions are same for mining, refining, and transporting to end user for petrol and lithium.
Hower Petrol will cause further pollution while usage which is not applicable for EV if electricity used is renewable sourced.

You cannot attribute this stand to the script writer.
