I went to high school with Courtney and remember her playing live in our theatre. Beautiful lady and beautiful voice! Go Courtney!!
mx4life34 she is amazingly good, and is coming back to Leeds West Yorkshire to play in April. Can't wait👍🏾
Here is country meeting it's real potential.
I was a kid in the 90s, and loved the country music I grew up with along with the older stuff.
Then came the era of disenchantment.. Country lost its poetry and its honesty. It is nothing more than crowd-pleasing pop today.
What a breath of fresh air this is.
What a trip. I went to high school with her. We all sat at a table outside and listened to her practice from time to time. A sweet genuine girl. Her music reminds me of Rilo Kiley and Cat Power.
She is unrivaled
These songs are beautifully crafted, this woman is a real artist. Every song has ambition, not every one makes it, but the leap is always magnificent
00:08-03:46 How Quickly Your Heart Mends
04:07-07:42 Irene
14:40-18:33 Table For One
23:11-26:15 Rookie Dreaming
Beautiful music, uplifting voice and a genuine sweetheart to boot. I wasn't surprised to hear she is a Townes fan. I may just have to break out my pocketbook.
support the little guys, yes!
I found out today. Not to mention the musical qualities, which are obviously above average, their music brings a feeling of inner peace, joy, whatever it is is the best thing I heard this month. Kind!
its sad that this video doesn't have millions of views. she is so f@#king awesome
Table for one is one of the greatest songs of all time
She is awesome!
Hi---First time listener---"what a wonderfully beautiful voice." Can't wait to see you live in Phoenix Sep. 22nd @ Rebel Lounge.
What a great session.
Thank you Thank you Thank you
Fantastic performance and the perfect backing band. Was bowled over when first heard Courtney at about this time; look forward to her live at last in June!
Her voice...great depth.
awesome set
SUPERB songwriting. Mitchellesque vocals. I'm re-inspired
never years courtney before its a wonderful discovery thanks a lot kexp
She is awesome... I have all her albums and have been listening to her non stop for two months... she shares her birthday with Joni Mitchell... that is not a coincidence!
Saw her at the Edmonton Folk Music Festival last summer - thought someone might have genetically engineered a Linda Rondstadt/Joni Mitchell inspired angel! Kudos to KEXP from a soundman, the audio on all your clips is pristine.
Watching this for the first time after seeing her on Jim Atkins's podcast and wow, I am totally a fan now.
Love her so much. Amazing musician.
Holy crap when I heard she was in Belgium... I could have met her... I'm half US living in Belgium... I'm a lost cowboy playing country here... *sigh*
Just discovered her music today thanks to Bandcamp, great site to discover new records!
I saw her live in Norwich, U.K. Last night. She was the support act. Should have been the lead act. Just her and a pedal steel guy. Utterly stunning performance. Mesmerising, transfixing, l'm lost for more superlatives. And meeting her after. Beautiful and charming person. This girl needs support and attention from key music professionals because she really earns it. Jools Holland- get on the case and get her in the next series.
Martin Woods 99 channels and nothing on, old Bruce Springsteen song. There has to other avenues for young artists. Poor old Jools wasn't even the best keyboard player in Squeeze.
And Jools has. Fabulous
I love your voice and your songs 🌟
It's a fantastic album, highly recommended. Nice set, too!
Super proud of you, Courtney! Love from Phoenix. -Eileen
Courtney Love's not from Phoenix?!
wow! i love her and the whole band and every song! inspiring!
its been awhile since a female artist this talented and awesome showed up.
Album of the last 2 years for me. Songwriting from the heart. Good luck girl! Paul Shaft 2.3
The whole album is amazing. So nice to come across such a talent in my dotage :)
Love the lyrics and music. Keep touring! Come to Denver!
Amazing singer.I'll definitely get this album. The lyrics are really good.
I remember listening to Pomegranate on this obscure indie music site named after a popular highway (66?). I remember I absolutely fell in love with the song and her voice. glad toward she's still making music!
Lovely.
I totally enjoyed this.
This is simply brilliant. What a great voice, fantastic performance!
I remember seeing her playing keyboards for Jimmy Eat World 6 years ago.
Wonderful voice, and the songs are fantastic.
Great interview Greg! Irene is an amazing song.
Absolutely Fantastic Artist, Music and Band,.

Niiice!
The bass player has the best laugh in the world. The guitarist has the best hat in the world.
Exquisite ...
She's adorable.
Great!
Mesa para um , vou tomar todas !!!kkkk.... putz esta musica é linda demais
the new Maria McKee
bealtiful
first song is great
Hey KEXP team. Can you please add at which point in the video the songs start? I would be more that happy, if you added this start time thingy in the description. Greetings from Slovenia :)
I was told there would be synths
Great music! Didn't know she spent 3 months in my country :(
Also the host reminds me of an actor, but I can't put a name on him D:
John Turturro, perhaps (looks wise)? And he has a way about him like Mark Ruffalo.
Equal parts Hank Azaria and John Turturro.
Perhaps a hint of Jeff Goldblum in there too.
Props for the production Courtney. I would love to hear you collaborate with Daniel Lanois....btw, most of the vocal comparisons are WAY off the mark, you are your own unique voice.
1:24 glad to see the kid from Love Actually made it as a professional drummer.
nice
rad
Although “Irene” definitely has a Joni Mitchell sound to the vocals
Who knew Jurgen Klopp played drums?
I feel like her voice reminds me of someone, but I can't seem to identify who that is.??
Kelly Willis perhaps?
Joni Mitchell?
Jane Vonderheide that could be it..??
Laura Marling too. But also a little bit of Tift Merritt...
Bingo. Both, yes.
Interesting lyric writer...
don't do drugs lady!
"Is it just You?" She's got the whole package. Wish I was about 30 years younger and looked like Tom Cruise.
She's got a great singing voice but a terrible vocal fry when she speaks.
i noticed at times she puts too much into her singing live at times which causes distortion.if she stays calm she be extra special during live gigs.trust your ability with voice n guitar n dont compensate for bad pa systems.she well on the way and as a fan i am very pleased as she lovely artist/human being.95% of stuff online ive seen is awsome
sweet and nice, just a bit too classic not really creative in sound.. Some variations of the voice are nice... Courtney, please, listen a lot Eva Cassidy, you can be her soul again alive do not stay stucked in country ...
