The original line was what was called on the video the Old Loop (where the engine/carriage shed and the big steaming bay in the middle is). Back then, the big steaming bay was the main one. Then the outer Loop was built and that was the only line until I think 1993, when the Inner Loop (actually a figure of eight) with Bailey's Bridge was built. It was a little before then when the small Steaming bay and Turntable was built by the Clubhouse at Lakeside Station, and for many years that was the main steaming bay and the little shed at the back of the clubhouse was the main Stock and Engine shed. The Avoiding line was built in the mid - late 90s (which I actually helped a little with), at some point in the late 2010s the big Steaming bay was refurblished and became the main one again and the new Extension and what would later become it's tunnels and Richard Jefferies Halt only was built just before the COVID Pandemic (about 2018 I think). It's changed alot.
Thank you very much for watching! I did really enjoy how this journey seamed to go on and on yet the area the track takes up is quite small in the whole country park.
great video! that looks very fun! a few years ago when i was not very smart i rode a real train, but not a passenger train. a freight train. it wasnt going very fast but now that i think about it that was a stupid idea. i was only on for about 15-20 seconds before it felt like it was getting faster.
This is great,, We have some in the states most all private, none really close to me, there is a huge one way out west, I only see these on the internet.
Not the best of days to be riding the trains with all that rain..We have drove the old line with our B1 (now sold) but we need to ride the new extension, this was planned for 2020 but never happened...Looks like a nice run for the Scot one day.
It wasn't the best day to visit, I was in the area to get 5619 at Swindon & Cricklade. I do plan to revisit this one again this year as I was very impressed with the railway.
@@andrewhurrell6690 Well done for the effort! If you want to check its correct have a look on their website, they have a trackplan and gradient profile!
to be honest Henry i have to ask you how it is that the train driver overcomes all that smoke from the funnel ? thank you again for another wonderful video....

Thank you for watching and explained the evolution of the railway!
Very impressive route through the woodland, a great layout where one could quite easily believe the journey had taken them many miles. Super film.

@@HenrysAdventures I am the driver and owner of Linda. On wet days like this one the steam looks far worse than it is.
@@flatronW22243S I enjoyed my trip behind Linda! Brilliant loco and railway and I must say very atmospheric in the rain!
I hope you haven’t traveled from a t4 area!?!
Tier 4 wasn't around back in October!!
