Thanks for your time sharing the troubleshooting steps. I had the same low water pressure when brewing. I descalled, no success. I replaced 1 small broken o ring in the orange cylinder, no success. I disassembled the water pump pressure relief valve, nothing looked wrong or dirty but after putting it back together my issue was fixed! A correct brewing pressure was back. After hours of investigation it feels so good. I hope it helps. Good luck folks.
For anyone else with the same problem. You don't need to remove the boiler part of the assembly as this guy shows here, this is very fiddly and difficult to reassemble so follow this approach and save some grief. Simply switch the machine off, remove the casing and top cover. Remove the brew unit from inside the machine. Then with you hand inside the machine holding the piston unscrew the single hex screw from the top. The piston will drop away into your hand and you can then get to work on it. For the O rings attached to boiler unit, these can be accessed from inside the machine.
I had trouble finding the "hex screw" you referenced in your comment, so I took the unit apart as shown in the video. However, now I understand the method you explained, so for anyone else needing help: the screw is a Torx head screw, not hex (although if I would have seen it, I would have understood Graham's comment). T-15 Torx head to be exact. In order to find it, you *may* have to remove the water supply that goes straight down into the middle of the boiler assembly - the one heat-shielded with a silicone jacket. Hope that helps someone, and it's the method I'll be using from now on should I have to service the O-rings in the piston again. Of note, my O-rings *looked* fine, which was disappointing because I thought maybe the issue was something else. I cleaned the piston and re-lubed all the O-rings anyway, and after re-assembling the machine, it worked like new again. So, even if your O-rings look fine, cleaning and re-lubing may fix your issue.
@@debbinkmmine was not reachable even after removing this hose and I had a phillips head screw on top. But my infuser plate was completly rusted anyway so i had to buy a new one…
I had the exact same problem you had. I went to Lowes (Home Depot didn't have that size o-ring). Per your video, I replaced the o-rings, and it worked! Thanks so much for this video. You've saved me some good money. One note for others who may try this: Be sure you track your disassembly of this mechanism carefully. There are a few more screws than appear here. My o-rings weren't cracked, but I thought they had probably worn a bit thin. That seems to have been the case. After I put it back together again, there was a great improvement in the drip.
Thanks a lot for this video, it was a great help for taking apart my own machine. The problem with mine was the white cylindrical piece (seen at 6:23) was heavily scaled. For some reason the machine's descaling procedure doesn't cover this piece so it had accumulated scale over years. There is a little spring valve thing in the cylinder where water flows through. I just popped that out, soaked the pieces in descaler solution and poked a paper clip through to chip off bits of scale. Eventually I got a nice flow of water through that piece so I reassembled the whole thing and it worked like new.
Run vinegar thru the spout. This will help coffee making as well. I had the same problem - no pressure in spout or coffeemaker and dry pucks - this fixed it all.
Thanks for your knowledge. I have a different model (cafe corso), and a different issue (infuser stuck in the 'down' position). But through your video got a sense of what's going on as our machines are very similar on the inside. I just needed to trick the sensors into getting the infuser back in a removable position. Thanks again you just saved us some cash for a while :-)
Thx it helped a lot. I had a similar issue. My washer (the one you replaced) had herniated through the bottom hole in the orange cartridge. Repositionned it. It now works wonders.
My machine stopped pulling water from the tank. This happened over the course of 2 days. I replaced the water pump, the flowmeter, O-rings, diffuser, cleaned internally and lubricated everything. Could it be the in line filter just after the water tank? I'm soaking the tubes in hot water with a little CLR today but they do not appear clogged. What else could it be? When I watch it with the sides off, water is not pulling through the tubes. Also, the machine now makes a higher pitched noise when trying to run. Coffee is being ground and pressed, it appears to be just a water issue. No leaks. Ideas?
On my 3000 model there is a white plastic piece attached to the top of the pump that allows water to pass and to split between the steamer and the main coffee part. This has a few little pieces inside that act as a non-return valve I think and there was a tiny little non-return plunger that had become stuck in the closed position so tightly that no water could be pushed past it. Once I figured out that this part was jammed somehow I disassembled it completely (making sure I had freed up, removed and cleaned all the teeny tiny pieces inside it) and reassembled it, the water could pass through just fine and all has been good ever since. There is a small spout that is clipped onto the main body of this part that is very hard to prise off but you must do so to get to the guts of it. Good luck to anyone who has this problem. It is part number 35 on a blow up diagram I found online searching for: delonghi magnifica parts
Hi - I replaced my pump on the Delonghi Magnifica because it was not delivering water anywhere - the steamer now works but the coffee part is not delivering any liquid - any suggestions ? - I’m an amateur but I’m willing to try ! If so do you know where I can get the parts and directions to repair myself? Thank you
why my coffee machine delonghi magenta ESAM 3200 grind coffee but it does not flow what a defect it may be I made 2-3 cleanings and it worked but the coffee does not come in the cup after it is ground it has the water pump identical to the one in the video
I changed some things in my Magnifica but nothing worked. It sounds to easy but I mixed 50% water and 50% vinegar and did the automatic cleaning thing three times. Works like new
The 1st machine arrived defect. The second although required frequent maintenance and cleaning performed ok for 5-6 years. Recently I encountered the same issue described in the video. I decided to throw it in the garbage where this crappy italian/chinese device belonged since the beginning
someone suggested to change the brew group. Although I have since retired this unit I may just spend the $40 to try this one last possibility. If it works I'll give it to my son. If you try this please let me know.
Actually got mine working just fine in the same evening. I also took the thermoblock off to replace seals at water piston assembly. It was full of crap blocking the valve, so a quick rinse at ultrasonic cleaner and I replaced all O-rings since I had a full set already bought in advance. I noted that in most cases you can just replace seals that can be accessed removing filter from bottom of the yellow piston by pulling plastic rod down. After this I put everything back on and it worked like champ for three cups and then suddenly same prob again. Looked for a video about fixing the pump since pressure was low. Took the pump of and put it to pieces. Only thing I found was that maybe the plastic screen had unscrewed a bit. ua-cam.com/video/DoO9ckyJ-rs/v-deo.html Also checked all springs and valves to be in shape. Well now it has been working for a week.
Hey such a lot words....really i did not understanding one word so what is not working and what is finally broken what should i change right now or not...gosh after this im double confused right now...whaaaat??? Thank you next time of ITS possible come to the Point fasters..

No, after replying your comment, to be exact

I fixed this by using vinegar in front of water couple times. It works try it
Did you find the o-ring?
No I did not. I gave up and bought a Breville Oravcle
Scrap Metal Works what type of unit is that?
So does your Delonghi work at all? Mine is leaking as well
How do you adjust thermostat regulator?
I decommissioned this machine a couple of years ago but from what I remember the thermostat is not adjustable.
The 1st machine arrived defect. The second although required frequent maintenance and cleaning performed ok for 5-6 years. Recently I encountered the same issue described in the video. I decided to throw it in the garbage where this crappy italian/chinese device belonged since the beginning
hello you probleme Delonghi Magnifica Red Triangle Alert won’t turn on
Ereplacementparts.com has all the O rings and most other parts. It they show discontinued, cut and paste the part number to eBay.
This seems to be same problem that I am having with 5500.
