- Testing out two of my favourite power amps today, the Mesa Boogie 3:95 and 2:50.

Also, what pickups are you using in that Strat? They're so clear, wow.
The description says "original" pickups but I thought there were several that Strats can come with.

Man all your tones are always so good. What are the specific pickups in the Strat? Never really hear Strats be so balanced in metal with both body and chime and spank. Surprisingly the bridge humbucker also has that biting edge top to it that's very rare in any humbucker.
It says un your videos it's original pickups, so maybe better to ask which exact Strat do you have? year, specific model, etc.
Thanks man! The strat has custom shop neck pickup and a vintage very bright hb in the bridge, i dont know the name. Bought as a mystery pickup 20 years ago in guitar center on sunset 👍

They sound almost the same on UA-cam. The 395 sounds a pinch more detailed.
I have the fifty/fifty and just got the 295 today after lusting after it for a long time. Both amps sound the same, except the 295 takes longer to warm up, lol. This is weird in way, not just because of the price difference and different tube types (EL34+6L6 vs 6L6), but also because I just tube rolled all day yesterday, and noticed a pretty big difference just switching the brand of 12ax7 tubes in my California Audio Labs DAC (hot tip, buy old ultra high end CD players and use them as a DAC, they can outperform modern DACs for 1/10th the price, because no one wants CD players anymore and the specs matter far less than the components). The Amperex (most hifi, crystal clear, yet warm sound) and Mesa Boogie (huge bass, most enjoyable) tubes sounded noticeably the best in my DAC, and I tried pretty much every brand but Telefunken. I have JJs in the 295 right now, so I'll switch them out for Mesa Boogie (currently my fifty/fifty has all Mesa Boogie tubes) and see if it makes any noticeable difference between the two Boogies, or even just the 295. But, right now, I'm under the impression that switching cables would make more of a sonic difference than switching between Mesa Boogie power amps.
Also should mention my test was at a listening volume of about 60db.
They are wery close, I do prefer the 290, it is perhaps a mix between 395 and 250. Thanks for listening👍
@@Rohbemusic I just uploaded a video *one minute ago lol* comparing the 295 and fifty/fifty. The 295 does sound slightly better once it's warmed up, now that I've had mine serviced.

Thank you! I did sell the Bogner, it wasn't 100% right for me so I couldn't justify keeping it.
@@Rohbemusic Hello again Emil. I am considering buying a Bogner Eclipse myself. Just wondered what caused you to sell the amp/ what wasn`t 100% right for you and what kind of amp do you prefer to the Bogner since you mentioned -i think it was your first Bogner Eclipse video -that you considered the Bogner along with the Mesa to be the best 2 amps you have. What made you reconsider?
Hey! Yes my plan was to run the bogner with the mkiv but it never sounded like I wanted, even the victory sounded better for what I wanted. The eclipse is a great amp by itself does many things but I realized the sound I wanted with my mesa was a stock plexi sound. Although the bogner sort of do that it was overkill and it boiled down to a marshall sv20 that I can dime in 5w mode together with my mkiv. Perfect volume, perfect tone! For me! @@Rohbemusic Thanks a lot Emil. Very much appreciated. Somehow the best times ever to buy an amp on the one hand since there are so many options, flavours and pros and cons for pretty much any amp there is out there. On the other hand do all the options make the right choice a little bit more difficult. Well a luxury "problem" after all and as we all know the search for the next amp is almost the funniest part until the honeymoon phase is over ;) So many good amps but not the one amp that can do it all. So either one gets a jack of all trades and master of none or an amp that is very good at one thing but usually not as versatile. Deciding now between a Helios Eclipse, Marshall SV20, MArshall JTM plus some pedals or a Friedman BE 100 deluxe. Thanks again for helping out and i very much understand your decision. Your Marshall clips sound killer.
Sounds like it comes down to what kind of music you play or want to be able to play. Also if you can play loud or not. Good luck 👍
no comparison here, even not to the 2:90, the 395 is the advanced and powerful poweramp on earth, done the bias and simul class mod and this thing is now even more unbeatable ❤ ..p.s. the 2:50 is not too great at all

@@Turbo-D what speakers are you using? I'm just using the fender speakers in my twin reverb. maybe the speakers just aren't that sensitive. although both mesa amps sound way better than the amp in the twin.
