Thank you for featuring our recipe. Means a lot . We didnt know we were so loved . Truly a special feeling .Thank you from mom and the entire Blue Poppy Team.
I am an ardent pork lover.. thank u for this recipe.. I have had great chilli porks in so many Calcutta restaurants.. but listening to the background music in this video I suddenly remember an extremely spicy dry chilli pork dish I had at a makeshift food joint near a flower garden in gangtok.. just remembered everything! snow-capped mountains, bright sunshine, colourful flowers n red eyed me gobbling on the chilli pork! :-)
This is to inform all and sundry that I love ALL your pork/beef recipes. Keep the meat recipes coming! (Also, "real Bengalis" don't police what other people can/cannot eat.)
You've just made my day, Bong Eats. I've been craving Calcutta-style (Blue Poppy-style is the best!) chilli pork for some time now, and this is like manna from heaven. Pork is my absolute favourite meat, followed by beef. And those narrow-minded individuals who judge fellow citizens on their choice of food can go stew in hell. Won't be a terribly appetizing stew, I can guarantee!
Hi! For the first time I am writing a comment but have tried a lot of ur recipe and it’s has never failed the taste is always bang on my hubby is Bengali n I am a catholic n sometimes i make Bengali food. you know he best quality about u both is that whenever u guys get a recipe from anybody u both always thank that person as well as put that person pic , like one of the priest said it in church during his homely that “ Gratitude is the best attitude “ and when u have a habit of gratitude the Lord always blesses u God bless n Thankyou so much once again for all ur recipe
Whenever I try to make a recipe that I don't know exactly how to make, at first I search your channel if you have the recipe, if not then I go for other channels. You are that much reliable. I love your videos. No extra talkative time waste. Simple, short, to the point videos with some cool music. That's all I need when I cook alongside a video. Please upload different cuisines. I'll love to try them too. Lots of love♥️♥️
I went to sikkim house, blue poppy last month. I was not a pork lover. But i wanted to try this chilli pork and trust me it is now my favourite pork dish. And I m planning to go there soon again😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Long emo post ahead: You guys have created a beautiful channel. I wait for your upload every friday. I do not understand why some people have to crib about a pork recipe, because they may simply ignore it and not spit venom in their comments. I am not big on pork, but i still enjoyed the beautiful way in which you presented it. I dont frequently comment /gush how impressive you are. This is probably a first. But I just had to write so you know there are many fans and they would love for you to continue what you clearly do the best.
This has become quite a popular cuisine in Take5 pub in Chikmagalur. I always go there just for this. North East Indian people make it and it's really good
I absolutely love your recipes and each one that I have tried has come out remarkably well - that too for someone who hardly ever cooks anything. However, I have one feedback-all your measurements are usually in grams making it rather difficult for anyone without a digital measuring equipment. Request you to kindly share measurements in spoon/cups too. Thank you 🙏🏼
Music ta oshadharon actually. Ekta besh mischievous bhab ache much like the recipe which resonates fun and quirkiness. Oh and to those who feel like beef and pork is ruining their religion, here’s my request to I+S Aro anek anek BEEF AND PORK Calcutta recipes chai!!
As usual, loved your presentation. Keep it up! :D Would love to try this one soon! Also, I have a quick question though: what do you suggest if I don't have a pressure cooker? Any quick hack for the newbie in cooking? :)
Hi, thank you! You could cook it in a covered thick bottomed pot with a lid on. It will take longer and you may need to add a little more water if it dries up.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. We attempted cooking pork at home for the first time. Looked over many many recipes. Tried some glazed/braised and what not international types... but laut ke buddhu ghar ko aaye. The pressure cooker is the best! Absolutely wonderful fail proof way of cooking pork. A tricky meat for the uninitiated. I of course took liberties with the sauce but stayed true to the method. And i am now an eager confident cook to make more pork b
I don’t eat pork. But still it’s a kind of addiction to watch ur videos. N u guys are doing a great job. I have already tried making 90% of ur dishes. All thanks to u ;-)
Hii bong eats, I regularly follow your recipes because the cooking ingredients and the process is authentic. The pork recipe is great but why don’t you explore the North East of India where there’s an array of different tribal recipes-so simple and a gastronomic delight.
OMG IT'S beyond EVERYTHING. Chilli pork is probably my soul food and when it's from bongeats coupled with the legendary Blue Poppy it's got to be the BEST. Blue Poppy used to be a saviour during my broke days in Presidency. Its almost like a college life mystery unfolding infront you. Can't thank you enough for this!❤
I liked the taste of the recipes, and they are mouth-watering. Thanks for sharing these impeccable recipes with us. We are delighted that all the videos of all kinds of recipes are the best of the best.
Thank you so much for this. I absolutely loved this recipe. I'm an avid pork lover and I obviously love Doma ma'am's Blue poppy. Btw, Please try and upload a recipe of " Roasted chilli pork " or roasted pork anything for that matter. Roasting in a pan is quite a technique!
Thanks for the recipe bongeats. I requested it long back. Blue poppy is one of my favorite restaurants in Kolkata. During my recent India trip I wanted to go to Blue poppy again but just realized that they have stopped their saltlake outlet. Finally I ended up eating at " The darjeeling " - at gorkha bhawan. The momo was good but the chilly pork was a disappointment. Nobody can make chilly pork like The Blue poppy.
Heya ..Bong Eats...another gem... Lovely background score...went perfectly with ur recipe... It just makes you feel ravenous... My husband and one of my twin boys r big time pork fans... I would like to mention I had pork for the first time in Coorg... Then at a friend's place in Kolkata.... Was superb...will try it out for sure... Much love your way😄😄
Ami eta try korlam....bodhhoy bhul area r meat Jena hoechilo tai hoyto bhalo sedhdho hoyni ar prochur prochur tel bere geche compared to what I started with.....sudhre dile khub helpful hbe!!! Sese asol kotha ta bole no U r the reason I cook at all....Thank u so much!!!❤️😍
Hi Asmita, thank you. The time required to pressure cook the meat will vary depending on the cut and the quality of meat. You can always cook it for a little longer in the pressure cooker. Try to get meat from the shoulder and if you see lots of fat, trim it before cooking. It takes some time to find the right meat vendor and cut of meat, and then to figure out the timing. Once you do, it will be worth it 🙂
I tried and it was a super success, reminded me of chili pork which i had in kunga, though i added very little some extra tomato, oyster, chili and dalle sauce to boost up the spice
My favourite is Chinese style, char sui...number one for me,lived in Hong Kong for 9 months,20 odd years ago and had BBQ shop at top of street...so good, miss my Chinese here in small seaside village, but plenty of fresh fish......
After watching the tingmo recipe searched the web for chilli pork , didn't find anything satisfying You made my life guys. Love you a lot . This is bliss 😍😍😍😍😍😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
one of the best Indian Cooking channels, this video is sick! Though i don't eat pork, but I shall replace it with chicken.... oh my heaven...slurrrrrrrrrrrrrrp!
I am a huge fan of your page. Your recipes for Anglo Indian Pork chops/ribs, Anglo Indian vindaloo (its completely different from Goan Vindalho), Kosha Mangsho, Tomato chutney, Nolan Gur Payesh and now Chilly Pork are household dishes at my home. I am yearning to make your Christmas pudding with tea custard which looks divine. I just made the Chilly Pork which was awesome too - I've tried making this dish before but have never made it so well. I have a small request to ask. I have eaten a 'sweet version of a similar dish - called Roast Pork in Calcutta Chinese restaurants. Even though the dish is called 'roast', it is not oven made but rather a pot roast. After making Chilly Pork I realize that apart from the sauce (you used a Soya Sauce), they possibly add a sweet sauce to the dish and call it roast pork. Could you please assist me in how it is made should you have an idea. Thank you
The recipe link doesn’t work. Even a search for chilli pork on your site didn’t show the recipe. Please share the ingredients and measurements in description box too. Thanks!
I don't know but that music which used to play before was so much more soothing and with that music and your recipes both go like hand in hand :-( I missed that speciality 💖💖
Yum!! Very nice! By the way, this is the first recipe that I have seen where you haven't added sugar! 😂😂 I kind of expect that from you now, like Chef John's cayenne pepper! 😉
@bong eats do you seal the pressure cooker shut as you’re boiling the pork? It seems like very little water and it would evaporate if set for 45 minutes
Which is your favourite place for chilli pork? What is your favourite thing to eat with chilli pork?
Bong Eats

Bong Eats Favorite place would be Chung Wah! We usually have the chilli pork on its own. If not, then along with some butter rice. :)
