Same- I genuinely didn't think they could make it hurt worse than the song already does, but they managed with something as simple as having Eurylochus just... stand there.
right! when i listened to it i just imagined him standing there. scared and regretting his decision. It was him who killed the cow, him who brought their demise.
I love how in this animatic. Zues has this presence you know? He seems so much more. He looks like he couldn’t care less. He’s here to “punish” the crew. But he looks like he was just having fun. How he was just toying with the mortals. How he came to just show off his godly power.
Zeus is so fucking terrifying in this animation and i love it so much, you can just see that he loves to show off like this, almost like he told everyone that noone but him gets to punish odysseus. The way he sometimes manically seems to lose himself in how much fun hes having before coming back down with those poisonous smirks. Hes imposing ass hell and i could ramble about why for way to long
Well before this Eurylochus WAS the one who opened the bag when they were RIGHT THERE. At the very docks of Ithica. Worse? Eurylochus is Odysseus's BIL. So when the Oracle said "a brother's final stand" & "portrayals of betrayal". Odysseus KNEW who he was talking about. Anytime he called Eurylochus his "brother" it wasn't just a term of endearment it was the truth. Then in the books Eurylochus was plotting against him for a while which lead to the "Mutiny" song which was shortened for the sake of it being a musical. And even after the betrayal he was STILL trying to save them and shouting for Eurylochus to not k×ll Apollo's sacred cattle. And the supposed reasoning Eurylochus offered for the mutiny was hypocritical. Eurylochus was the first to try and abandon the men to Circe. While Odysseus found a way. No matter how much Eurylochus or the crew scr€wed over Odysseus he TRIED, scraped, and bl€d for his crew so they could all make it home. Was Odysseus sacrificing 6 unaware men for the sake of everyone else to survive cold? Yes. Was it needed in a way that can never be rationalized or explained without sounding like a "MONSTER"? Also yes. This is the tactician Odysseus and the "Monster" Odysseus. He has been through too much & if we tally the mistakes of the crew vs Odysseus the crew is without a doubt in the red. THIS was their greek tragedy karmic justice. Do I say Odysseus deserves the torment he gets? Also yes. He was too full of himself and now he must sail alone. Without a crew to tend a HUGE ship. That is the labor he must endure to make it home alive. And yes this is "no longer him". Just like the Prophet said. He will become the haunting man who makes it home alive.
It was Helios' cattle, not Apollo's. Some comments somewhere said that Helios threatened to go to the underworld unless Zeus went down to punish Ody and the crew
This one has to be my fav of the Thunder Bringer ones I've seen so far. *They don't even make it off the beach!!!* It's so good, the energy, the individual faces of the crew to humanize them that much more... uuuugh, it's SO GOOD
Ever since I heard a reactor I was watching call Zeus “sky daddy” I’ll be fr I have been calling him that in my head subconsciously, his voice actor is sublime!
Same😂 He is a total creep and narcissist but so perfectly portrayed I ammelting anyways😅 And yeah sky daddy, there is no way around thatbeing theobvious nickname with how the sun god just went all my father will hear about this, so skydaddy punishes who wronged him
Honesy, as much as I love scylla and she is absolut everything i love, there is no way around luke holt being my favorit of the cast ... He slays the portrayal to an unreal level, and I f*ing hate zeus
one thing someone had pointed out was that Zeus definitely manipulated Ody in making sure he would pick himself by bringing him a vision/hearing penelope and that left me shook. So happy you took the time to check this one out!!
I love this song bc there's so much nuance to it. Yes technically odysseus doomed them initially by telling the cyclops his name, but for all other instances after that one time, it was the rest of the crew that screwed up, first the wind bag & then the cattle. It's fascinating how they pin the blame for everything on odysseus when they were just as guilty. Meanwhile, they were justifiably afraid & angry when odysseus had to sacrifice 6 men in order to get at least 42 men home, but at the same time if none of the prior instances happened, he wouldn't have been forced to make such a hard choice. Although his first priority was always his family, he was still trying his best to get ALL of them home, somewhat trying to retain the last message polites left with him in Open Arms. Everything culminates in Thunder Bringer when all parties realize that yes, they wouldn't be in that situation if it weren't for odysseus trying to be honorable, but also yes they screwed up by making the situation worse twice. It was very apparent Odysseus does care for them, he wouldn't have been so broken about making the choice if he didn't. He understands where they're coming from & wishes it didnt' have to be this way. I think the crew knew that Ody would've ALWAYS tried to also keep them as a priority, but they've been forced into a situation where they knew they were the losing choice n the end, they really all are just men
I always prefer the animatic where Eurylochus doesn't botter to attack Odysseus in Thunder Bringer ⚡ Not because of his loyalty as his friend but, as the song Mutiny showed. He's tired😔 As far as he's concerned, He's done fighting, he's tired in trying to survive, he's accepted that he'll never go home and that this is how it ends😔
It has been 8 days today since the release of the saga and 2 days or something from the original video. Like the animators of this show are like fuckin cultists in how fast they be making this high quality shit. Its beautiful and almost scary how fast they do it.
for the best context of this animation, this was the final straw from Olympus. over the course of odysseus' journey until that point his men have constantly been warned not to do things that would anger the gods specifically or delay them dramatically, and eurylochus (the man with the eye scar near the beginning who looked at odysseus) is the primary culprit of crew incompetence. the event that brought the wrath of zeus down upon them was the final straw and unlike the rest of the crew, he accepted what came next.
I dislike Zeus so much but I love this animatic because it for real captures the energy, pride and seediness of Zeus and lends to the lyrics so well. He is a horn dog, of course even when speaking of a metaphorical woman he's all handsy, but oooooh it makes me so uncomfy 😂
if you wanna check out a fun animatic of suffering you should check out irunaki xd version. i like how they make ody seem playful when sneaking info from the siren 😂
I highly believe Thunderbringer is the last song of the musical if not the last song of this saga because how the hell is Odysseus supposed to get home without a crew? He cannot pilot a ship by himself
Thank you so much for checking out my animatic! I'm so happy to see you enjoyed it!
Thank you for this masterpiece you did an amazing job.
my favorite animatic so far
The best one that there is.
Nealillustrator I’m such a fan!
What really got me was Eurylochus just standing there.
Dude understood Odysseus the most, and knew it was a foregone conclusion.
Same- I genuinely didn't think they could make it hurt worse than the song already does, but they managed with something as simple as having Eurylochus just... stand there.
He is just so done
As he fucking should with his dumb ass.

Yeah, he is a massiv show of and also has fun torturing ody just as all the way back in troy same mmo

The way this man caresses the cloud had me uncomfortable.
But it’s oh-so wonderfully Zeus 😂
Even worse, the cloud looks like Penelope
@@mochiandturtles5642 yeah! women shaped
@Devilspade the creator intentionally made it look like Penelope for some unholy reason that slimy bastard.... but the animation is divine

Zeus comes straight in womanizing a cloud, and I know I should have the ick from that but DAYUM
He makes me so uncomfy but damn if that isn't a perfect representation of Zeus
This is maybe my favorite interpretation of Zeus in animatics. It’s just so perfect.

The gods can bring mortal voices into their songs. Penelope singing to Odysseus was manipulative in such a cool way
I’ll say the quiet and unspoken part out loud: Zeus is giving ZADDY
I dont know if zeus has me rock solid or totally disgusted and uncomfortable.
Thats exactly the effect he should have, like he is the worst bit has max charisma so he kinda gets away with it and charms one anyways
@SingingSealRiana if it was really myth accurate he would just transform into one of my cats and rape me in my sleep
the answer is both
it should be both
I so desperately need more people to react to this animation
Halyardel also has a really cool thunder bringer animatic! Their Zeus design is really cool
Joey really could do asmr and I would listen his voice is so smooth

Zeus kinda fine tho
This zeus has me questioning my interest. I never like zeus cause he takes advantage of women but this might change my mind.
And men. Ever heard of Ganymede?

Joey being gay for Zeus is hilarious, but as a straight man myself, I get it.
