We once sold a car (BMW 320d) to a guy who had seized up his previous car by running it out of oil, anyway some months later said BMW comes back to us on the back of a recovery truck with a very poorly engine we got it in the workshop and whilst examining it drained the oil to check it and there was 10 litres in the sump, when we spoke to the customer he explained that once a months he poured a litre of oil in it so as not to seize it up like he had the last one ! Some people should not be allowed under the bonnet of a car.
Our 120 series with 320,000 plus klms uses immeasurable oil at 8000klms which is when oil and filter is changed with full synthetic 5W-30. I’m happy to change it at 8000 now she has some klms. Always measured first thing in the am at the same park location. I’m really surprised at how good this engine is. The best vehicle we have ever owned. 9 years and 230,000 klms and counting. Toyota, bring back the 3 litre!
This Coronavirus thing, if anything this experience should help highlight how important good hygiene is - like washing hands before you eat, touch face and any other sensitive areas etc...we’ll learn sooner or later.
My sons D4D 3 litre diesel has 200 thousand miles on the clock and never burns any oil I change it every 6 months for him new oil air filter oil filter and fuel filter it’s a 2009 and runs great had to get some welding done last MOT but I live in Scotland 🏴 🇬🇧
Can you show people the difference of the oil colour from a engine that has blanking plate and one that doesn’t. I have noticed a massive difference, the oil discoloring like a petrol engine now not black within a few thousand km without a plate
Cheers for the video mate. You mentioned 7 litres is a good amount. Does that apply to the newer prados too? Specifically 2015 onwards with the 2.8L. Cheers.
Hi Anthony I just would like to know why my 2011 prado KAKADU does not have crawl control switch? I’ve a lot researched in google but couldn’t find any answers. Can you explain me please Thanks a lot
bought a Prado 2003 1KZ-TE. 188K on the clock but I found out it had its clock rolled-back. I'm assuming it has 350K - 400K. changed oil, changed transmission oil, filters are new, runs great with no smoke. Should I worry about doing a compression test before I dump money into it such as bullbar and suspension? should I replace injectors just because? thanks!

my dipstick is impossible to get a clear reading, especially when the oil is new
Just for the record
1KD with 315K on the clock. The level on the dipstick doesn’t change at 10K intervals. Shell Rimula X
