How often should you change the diesel filter. I own a 2022 Land cruiser prado 150 2.8 1GD-FTV... and to be honest it has 38,000kms... and it has the original fuel filter that came with the car since i bought it new in june 2022... Recently I noticed it and asked for it to be changed... what i discovered is that its not part of the service they do here in Panama... LITERALLY WE HAVE TO BRING THE CAR TO SERVICE FOR AN OIL CHANGE EVERY 3 MONTH OR 5000KMS ... BUT NOO DIESEL FILTER CHANGEE....
Sorry Anthony, I did laugh when you spilt the diesel. We’ve all done it at one time or another. Not as bad as tripping over the drain pan after doing an oil change🙂. Thanks for all the good info.
Anthony if you would have seen the muck in the fuel filter i changed on my Hilux im sure you would have seen the worst ever..i bought it used and she ran great but first thing when i buy used is i do a complete maintenance..well i was shocked seeing the mass of mucky old fuel that probably never been changed since new and the vehicle had 80k on it..but since changing it she runs great..thats a toyota 4ya
Darren Daz 1 minute ago hi anthony, thanks for your channel,i was told to run my fuel tank down to a quarter of a tank, and not to keep it topped up, or it will hold old diesel in there for too long, do you agree with this? and feedback would be great, thanks Darren
Wow i learn something from your video. Btw, Did the warning light for fuel filter turned off after replacing it? Or how you off that warning light? Thanks you.
Thanks. The close ups helped. Mine wasn't squarw and thus not fully tightened. I did this just by removing the top cap and the electric wire. 35000 km and filter wasn't looking too bad. They cost 2-4 bucks here in Thailand so dirt cheap. (AISIN). Counterfeit Toyota filters cost 1.5 USD.
Another tip is to get a spare filter housing bracket from the wreckers and place that in the vice. Makes undoing and tightening the filter housing so Much easier. Repeatedly holding the housing in a vice will damage the housing.
OMG, what a simple but fantastic trick…using (obviously clean) right size drill bits to plug the fuel hoses. Why didn’t I think of that!! Love simple tips like this that cost nothing. Thanks Anthony

Thanks mate, well explained easy to follow 👌👍
I can’t believe you didn’t even say FIRE TRUCK!
Struth, ur too cool!
Actually I really like your metal bench…so easy to clean.
Was waiting for this one. Awesome video Anthony.
20,000 km filter change,
I was doing mine every 10 , I'm pretty sure that's what toyota service requirement says.
O well 20 it is then
I laughed when you spilt the fuel...couldnt help it
good video
Good video. Sorry about the spill, I felt for you - in retrospect, the dish wasn't a good shape, if one wishes to avoid spills.
Thanks Anthony great video. Like the drill bits idea.
When I prime mine, its leaks from somewhere, the engine will start then stall after 20 seconds or so; i assume my filter housing is stuffed?
Great job, yep won't do this hahaha
Shot for the vid, supa helpful, appreciate the time taken to educate.

Have you changed the secondary diesel filter on the hilux above the starter?
Shitty design , what a pest , or taking pipes off and unpluging power was just for the video.
Awesome as mate .. thank u .. I can get the fuel filter for my 75 series Landcruiser.. I put a hilux filter hand pump on it .. cheers mate 👍
You apply something to the oil ring whats the name of the chemical
Me"ch"anics 🤣🤣🤣🤣I'm dieing right now 🤣🤣🤣
hi Anthony, this was brilliant,so detailed. Thanks so much, Darren
Thumbs up for owning the spill. Been waiting a long time for the plastic fuel filter change
Excellent instruction Anthony. Thanks again. Cheers 🍻
Tip avoid being in the vicinity of open paint cans
Nice one ,cheers mate

Reset hilux water in fuel filter warning

Do you know how old or when that filter was changed …. Mines 4 weeks old and looks like that ….brand new motor ….
What is the black stuff in the filter that it's catching? And if small amounts get through filter would that be what wears out injectors?
Thank you for sharing .
A great tutorial and amazing restraint 😀👍
Use Valvoline vps brake parts cleaner with the wurth pump sprayer, good for all engine plastics rather than cheap stuff.

Great video as always! Watching from Jamaica 🇯🇲. One Love ❤️😎
Its funny because iv never thought of removing the whole unit from the car. I've always done it in car
I use plastic golf T’s to plug small hoses, being tapered they are a universal snug fit.
That,s a carton for tipping over the diesel Anthony
Do you have to get the arrows on the clamp to line up aswell?
Oops!! Your video was super helpful!
what molykote did you apply to your orings
🤣🤣 glad you left that spill in there!!

congratulations from brazil😁😁😁
Thanks for the laugh lol Good to see I'm not the only one who has the odd spill
