Very nice toolset! The scorp is interesting. What brought me to greenwood working is the need for tools to work a hollow limbed hickory selfbow. I actually made a very similar tool out of an old worn out 1" (25mm roughly) box end wrench. It works phenomenally well, and as he said I don't need to switch tools when working either side of the limb...just change the orientation a little and it will carve the left, center, or right with equal ease.
It's really funny how we bladesmiths think so alike in some ways, and so differently in others. I'm very much enjoying your channel friend, thanks for sharing.

The laminate steel also allows you to have a great edge holding steel on the edge at a reduced cost. The high carbon steel is usually more expensive, so if you just use it for the edge and less costly mild steel for the rest you save money.

Wow Zed, you lucky man. What a very nice touch the blanket is with the button and tail. So on our next installment we can expect to see some carving done by you? If I had the set I'd be on my way to the woods or my most comfy chair to try them all out. lol I love the idea of the gouges being a loop, it makes sense. Look forward to the sharpening video for my own kit.... not as nice as yours but I've not got the experience to sharpen them yet. Thanks for taking us along!!

Really love your channel Zed. Thanks for putting this stuff out there for us. You may have already addressed this in another video, but what type of saw do you use? I just purchased a Silky Bigboy 2000. Not arrived yet, but looking forward to when it does.

harry watkinson Hi Harry, it all depends on what wood you wanted on the handle, etc, you're best enquiring with Lee himself to get a quote. Bare in mind the blade is entirely hand forged with premium steel by one of the countries top blacksmiths and the handle is carved by hand too ~Peace~

    • @Zedoutdoors

Three Red Trees The handle feels great, it fits very well ergonomically and there are no issues with long periods of usage. Lee carves with the same design himself full time so the end product is tried tested ~Peace~
