Hello Everyone, We developed a fix with 034motorsport in the form of new harder durometer rubber upper mounts. shop.solo-werks.com/vw-mk-v-vi-density-line-upper-strut-mount/ The factory mounts are too soft and allow for the metal mounting point of the shock rod to move too much and create the squeaking noise you hear in the video. 034motorsport also removed the voids/empty spaces in the mount to reduce movement. The new mounts take care of the noise and allow the shock absorber to have a more positive attachment to the body similar to a solid race mount but with the benefit of the sound and vibration deadening of the rubber. The new mounts are created using modified factory molds and construction so there is no modification needed to install them, they simply replace your factory units. We do recommend that you replace or at least re lubricate the OEM bearings before you re install them to ensure correct movement and eliminate possible spring bind. Thanks!
check your bushings
my mk6 S doesnt do that
did you fix it? what was it?
Hello Everyone,
We developed a fix with 034motorsport in the form of new harder durometer rubber upper mounts. shop.solo-werks.com/vw-mk-v-vi-density-line-upper-strut-mount/
The factory mounts are too soft and allow for the metal mounting point of the shock rod to move too much and create the squeaking noise you hear in the video.
Thanks!
