👇🏿 From @Letsgomental- Wariimi Karingi. Hi all, I want to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who took the time to watch my video and leave such encouraging comments. Your overwhelming support and kind words have touched my heart and reinforced my belief that I am on the right track in my advocacy work for mental health. To those who physically attended and cheered me on when anxiety threatened to overcome me, your presence meant the world to me, were it not for you, I would not have managed to share my story. Unfortunately I'm not able to respond to every comment individually, but please know that I appreciate each and every one of them. If you would like to reach out to me directly, you can contact me at wkaringi@letsgomental.org or letsgomentalke@gmail.com or via our social media, IG:letsgomental.ke LinkedIn: Let's Go Mental Kenya. Our website is currently unavailable, I will update this post with our url once it's back up. Once again, thank you for being part of this journey and for helping to spread awareness about mental health.
Wariimi gal 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽!! You did well for yourself and for schooling us on mental health.. Wariimi you are stronger than you think. You will be fully well soon.God has a purpose for you, keep believing!.
I will love to communicate with you one on one currently am going through alot just lost 3, people in my family starting this year. My grandma grand Papa and now just last month I lost my Dad and this hit me so hard . Have been trying to get enough sleep but it is not working instead I get headache a whole day
Wow..just wow. I'm happy to know that I am not alone. It's 2 months now since I got discharged from a mental hospital, was there for 3 months, still fighting for my life and I won't give up. It's not easy for me now after leaving hospital;which was a controlled environment, adjusting in the outside life is what I'm fighting with now. Like I said earlier,I'm not giving up and I won't 😊 Depression and anxiety is an illness that needs medication, stop telling us that we are lazy or not trying enough. A promotion at work might be your achievement, but getting out of bed and having a shower is an achievement for me.
This is one of the most powerful statements on mental health ever told. Seeing Waiirimi push through, almost giving in them asking for help and finally telling the story. Powerful 🤝🏽♥️
You did it better than many of us can ever do it ,by simply standing in front of the world and sharing the most vulnerable aspect of your life. Nothing should scare you, you have crossed the bridge and came out stronger than you can ever imagine. Karingi Karingi you can do it
You are amazing! You've done well and you are getting better every day, this is a stride to the right direction. I am doing the same. This happened to me last Sunday and other times prior to that.
I thought i was alone... I thought i was hallucinating... Weeeh this thing is real and happening i wish i can have a chit chat with you wairimu... Thanks
Ohh Wariimi,am sending you so much love and peace.Their is a time I used to struggle with anxiety and even tremble.I sang through it and sought the Lord.I sought the Lord and He heard and He delivered me
Thank you Wariimi for sharing. I'm 107 days after my discharge from hospital with the same abnormalities you have. Let's go mental and assist others achieve wellness and get a diagnosis as a bare minimum .
What a courageous young lady. She felt the anxiety but did it anyway. Isn't this what life is all about? Feeling the fear but fighting it with the light of your faith and spirit? You are released from that spirit of anxiety and depression in the mighty name of Jesus! It shall be well with you. Amen.
One of the greatest honors of my life was watching you push through to tell that story, it was a powerful “human” moment! Well done Wariimi for bravely sharing your story and that of many of us who have at one point or another, or still continue to struggle with mental health.
Honestly this is one of the most powerful talks i have listened to! I broke down at some point 😢 but your resilience even when you felt like you can't do it, you still pushed yourself. Asking Agatha to come stand with you was so powerful, shows we all need support and we should not shy away from asking for help! Have been following you for some time now, and i must say this was so inspiring! Thank you for doing it Afraid! Thank you for being bold and authentic.
Your personal story and capacity to stand on stage and share it is your super power Wariimi. Hold on to that power and keep telling your story! Meanwhile, we all need an Agatha in our lives ♥♥♥
May God in Heaven bless you, heal you and give strength to keep going. I will keep remembering you in my prayers and the more we tell God about you He will hold your hand and use you for his glory on earth! Be healed sister in Jesus Name!
You are one strong girl Wariimi. Thank you for showing anxiety attack who the real boss is by not letting it overcome your courage. You are a winner beautiful girl. I am so proud of you.
Hii Wariimi❤ I'm a depression/anxiety survivor that's been on meds for 8 years (we're so similar its weird!). You're not alone. At times things fall apart but then at times its possible to smile so we wait for when its possible to smile. I'm proud of you! Cheers
And from experience, I discovered that anxiety does not really go away no matter the amount of medication and therapy one takes in. We only learn to live with it. The reason why support is key. To help us in pushing through.
Waaaaah so emotional, I've gone through depression, low B.P, low Blood level & 💔. Don't forget family rejection after loosing my parents. I personally went to a nurse for B.P then he referred me to a physiatrists, I battled for 2yrs. thereafter I was pregnant, unfortunately I miscarriaged. I've never drink nor smoke. I thank God it all happened before COVID-19, now I'm a strong bubblish woman even imagine I'm in mid 30's without a child but hainishitui.
wow, keep up the fight, believe me you're not just fighting for yourself but for many, we need you and your purpose is valid, lots of hugs from me, thank you so very much for sharing
Thank for sharing your story Wariimi. You are a fighter, a brave fighter! Your story is not in vain. Through you, many many people have become aware of the importance of mental health issues. You will undoubtedly tough many many more lives through Lets Go Mental. Hugs, hugs, hugs. And lots of love.
Wao Wariimi...thats a very strong gal there. God bless you. Allowing yourself to be soo vunerable and being able to stand and share your personal story...you are going far. Wishing you well, wishing you healing...May God continue holding your hand. Thanks Agatha.....we all need an Agatha.
Great job wariimi. Not many who can share their personal stories many of us are dying alone. Brave girl for your story we av no energy to share our own.
You spoke from the heart and shared your experience on mental health which most people suffer silently. Thank you for shining the light in this area and removing the stigma that we have embraced by our silence. Mental health is part of our health just like blood pressure or diabetes. We just need to treat it as such and help our family/friends who are living with mental health. Again, thank you for sharing!
I am so proud of you! What a story! The true epitome of Do it Afraid! God will surely never leave you, and indeed, your purpose is bigger than your situation. One of the realest Engage shows I have ever watched!
I love the braveness, few people suffer anxiety not knowing it, may God see you though the process of healing, and touching other lives of young people. I ❤ this, very inspiring speech
I love this Wariimi you are the epitome of do it afraid but do it anyway. You don't know how much encouragement you've given people with anxiety standing there as the poster child for all those battling so hard with this disorder but still wanting to stand proud & make their impact felt on the world stage & leave a footprint that they lived bravery. Bravo gal what a legacy! You are a star girl 💫
Oh my heart💜 I have never resonated with a talk like this. I painfully relate. A gnawing feeling in your tummy, a tightness in your chest, dread, a feeling like the world is going to collapse and swallow you. 7 years now since my diagnosis. We push on, I tell myself I'm not going to give up on myself. Thank you for your courage and determination 💜 I'm cheering you on!
Wariimi, THANK YOU SO MUCH! Thank you for pushing to keep seeking help. Agatha, thank you for holding space for her and being an example of how we can sometimes hold space for those in our lives who may need it.
Wariimi.... My heart goes out to you. I know you have fought to be where you are right now. Am proud of you.... Thank you for sharing this, means the world to a lot of us!! Be blessed.
Bravo gal, you are strong. Keep on believing in yourself. Jehovah is with you. You have the right inner circle there is hope it will be over soon. Life is for the living gal, appreciate it.
That takes great courage! Bravo Wariimi😊 Proud of you. May God bring you complete healing and restoration. May he use this platform to connect you with destiny helpers for the work you are doing. He is well able!
Dealing with a mental illness in a family is not easy, it requires a lot of patience, learning and understanding on how best to manage and support your loved one. It is important to remember that this person does not fully understand themselves and their condition either, explaining exactly how someone feels is quite hard. What I shared in the video barely scratches the surface.
Very bold of you to share your story...You are not alone..if you need help ,am here..i have in that boat and am willing to help others going through the same
To God be the glory that your relationship with Him is thriving. You are an overcomer. I pray that your attitude towards all these keeps improving for you to scale higher altitudes.
❤❤❤ Sending truckloads of hugs to you Wariimi. God has you on the palm of his hand, you are the apple of his eye. Thank you for sharing abit of your beautiful self with us. You're fearfully and wonderfully made. God bless you. 🙏🏽
I look forward to a time where Africa will appreciate that mental issues are real, and no one chooses to be a victim. I pray that a time will come when people battling mental health issues will be embraced and given equal job opportunities. It takes a lot of bravery to even come out publicly and speak about this condition. And for that, I salute you Wariimi. Employers need to be more supportive to staff going through mental issues. They need to look out for ways to support such employees and help them up. Laying off should not be an option. And by the way, I have realized that most people who go through mental health challenges are very bright. They have a good academic background. They scored good grades in school. And if they are put in a work environment that is supportive and that can bring out the warrior in them, they do wonders!
I dont what to say! Thankyou thankyou for your openness and willingness to share. you are wonderfully and fearluly made by God. You are a strong lady. I have learnt alot from your story. Blessings

@@ruthmburu2643 precisely. Anxiety isn't malaria, it won't go away just bc you're on meds or exercising or having therapy.
Thanks for being vulnerable.
