I couldn't make much sense of this piece when I played it on a modern guitar years ago. I read that the baroque guitar is a completely different beast. But only your playing has opened my eyes or ears for this music. What a great performance, flexible tempo with the pulse of the music. This is a joy to hear. Thanks an awful lot for sharing.
Actually, these are a new string made by the Italian company Aquila. They are a composite of gut and nylon. I use them on my classical guitar and am a big fan. They don't sound quite as good as gut but they aren't as susceptible to weather, last long and are less prone to going false. Lots of advantages if you haven't tried them! Cheers
I keep coming back to this video. I really love the way You play. I really thinking of getting started with the baroque guitar. Thank You for the inspiration.
@larsstrik the excellent sound is also a contribution of the guitar. The instrumentents of Ivo Magherini can develope a special soul (search also for: bartolotti passacaglia in g matthew cellan jones - baroque guitar). kindest regards - S.
There's a lot of baroque guitar music on You Tube and some of them dosent sound very good. But this clip is in the top league. Your guitar sound very very good. Its hard to see but in the beginning of the clip the camera is focused on your right hand and it seems to me that you dont play with nails wich might be the cause of the good sound. I'm not a baroque player myself - i play a 19th century guitar with gut strings and no nails. Check this clip on U Tube - Duo Historico.

I really like this song. Is this something that can be played on a six string? Does a tab for the song exist? Thanks!

Where can i get the score for this piece?

I recognize the church of St Nicolaasga...
questa è una chitarra battente, non barocca, perchè ha il fondo ricurvo
non e' vero... ci sono chitarre barrocche del fondo ricurvo, anche ci sono chitarre battenti del fondo piatto...
nice touch, horrid plastic strings.
Bravo!
