If the 1080 is bringing say... up to 40% more performance than a 980 Ti (it seems to be between 10 and 50%, so even driver updates might change things a lot), I wonder how far AMD can push their next GPUs. PC would be better off without consoles. Consoles slow the development in technologie in games. Just take witcher 3 for example. A game restricted by the fact it is also on consoles. Most games can only reach their full potential on the PC plattform.

The 1080 non Ti was already quite a beast and for the PS5 to be more powerful than it and the Ti variant as well, it’s absolutely amazing value for the price.
im stuck with a 760 so its time to upgrade when these bad boys come out woot . My question is , I am running a I5 - 3350p , 8 gigs of ram with a 550 watt power supply and a z75 pro3 mother board . I just spent 1599 on a damn 4090. I remember listening to people bitch and complain over flagship cards being 499, 599 etc. Look at us now. Hell I remember they released a titan for 999 at one point. I get the 4090 is an amazing card and honestly I think the 3k stock has a lot to do with the price, but I just think it is funny people use to complain about 599.
+Chris Bullock The GTX 1080 TI and the new TITAN will have HBM 2.0; 2.0 isn't ready yet and Nvidia didn't want to end up with the same issues AMD did on their Fury X (limited to 4gb, can't overclock it very much etc..) so they're waiting till HBM 2.0 is more available and using GDDR5X for the 1080. GDDR5X is roughly halfway between GDDR5 and HBM 1.0 in overall memory bandwidth i'd say. BUT! Nvidia also has a special SLI bridge that will double bandwidth betweeen GPU's, meaning if you use TWO of the GTX 1080s with this special SLI bridge that only works on the 1080; you WILL get HBM 1.0 performance/bandwidth from the 1080's!
