To me, 90% of Seikos catalogue of today is very nice but always has one or two design choice that doesn't resonance with my taste. This one however I really like, I would like to see the 24h dial was a 31 days dial instead, but other than that, it's currently the only contemporary Seiko I put under my radar.

On the face of it this watch looks good. Looking deeper it's unlikely to end up on my wrist though. The fixed bezel would be better if it rotated but does not annoy me as much as I initially thought as it gives the minute positions (if it was duplicated on the dial it certainly would annoy me). I also quite like the dial finish with the dual sunburst on the main dial and inner sub dial. The hands are good too. What I don't like is the missing inboard lume plots where the open heart and 24 dial reside, it would have been been better for my taste if the lume plots were outside of the index batons. The partial open heart also jars with the sub dial. Great photography FT!. Thanks for the honest review.

It’s a weird bezel for sure. I think many people don’t actually use bezels as a timing device but like the sporty look of a watch with a bezel. I could see this watch being in a lot of peoples wrists for sure.

Definitely not a fashion watch by any means. A fashion watch to me goes out of fashion really quick whereas most established brands designs are more timeless. Just my opinion. Very nice work with the review

You can't call anything by Seiko a fashion watch but this one looks like the subdial has fallen away, exposing the movement. This would look so much better with the subdial back in place and no open heart. Surely that's possible with the 4r39.

Something like this with a small opening, I think they can on a leather strap for sure.

Seiko seems to make cheap watches that should be upscaled and done like their grand seiko’s, and a lot of their up scale versions should be made like their cheaper ones. Like thats a nice looking watch. But id rather get one thats finished to a greater degree then buy a cheap one.

This is not for me. Open heart dials are just not my thing. I don't know what it is but the dial is unattractive to me. But there are other Seikos that rock!

A "fashion watch" is just a term used to insult a watch or brand that is not catered towards enthusiasts, such as MVMT or Hublot.
It's a open heart which to me leans more as a dress watch fashion watches are just crap.
