Everybody is whining about how "weak" this draft is but its actually very fun to see how many different ways this draft can go. Drafts like this is where front office scouting departments show what they're made of.
Great take man i also enjoy seeing all the different Options for each draft Position
The ROY is going to be really good. Way better than this year since it was only close the first half.
It's weak in the sense that no one jumps off the page. There will be good players but people are used to having a player with All-NBA potential go in the top and very few this year feel that way IMO.
Teams that figure it out may end up getting crazy value out of the draft
And we don't know they haven't even played NBA game yet

Hot take: This draft is FAR BETTER than what the media would lead you to believe.
i agree, i feel like there wont be as many busts as other years
Probably less mvp candidates or all nba players but fs a deep draft with a lot of great contributing role players
@@thechickenman3713 There's been roughly 5 all stars per draft since 2015. I can see at least 3 in this class becoming allstars if they stay on track, and plenty more with potential.
Seems like the media is making a bigger deal of this draft than necessary.

I think that the fact that there’s no clear consensus on the first several picks and their draft pick makes this class seem way more tough, interesting, and very deep
I’m a little shocked to see Clingan so high in these Mocks. He moves well in game action, and patrols the paint pretty well, but he tested very poorly at the combine. In drills, he was outperformed by Edey, a guy who everyone seems to believe is Greg Ostertag….
Clingan is another Mark Eaton. He has poor conditioning and can only go 20 minutes a game before he gets too winded and has to be replaced.
Totally disagree I think clingan will be a great defensive big especially in the center heavy western conference

@@robertteague6342having a high level defensive anchor is very important still. Getting a young one with good size and pretty decent mobility in this draft is a no brainer. Closest thing to a sure thing in this draft. Great sample size and comes from winning.
@@EDTheOneable I have nothing against Clingan but won’t go any higher than 7 at the very most. Most likely 9th. If we draft Clingan we need to trade down and a aquire more assets. Topic, Sheppard, Holland, Risacher, Dillingham, Buzelis, Knecht and Castle are all better picks than Clingan. Go look at every mock draft and come back and tell me where he averages to go?

It's getting hard to explain why Clingan should be a top 5 pick and Edey shouldn't be lottery. Edey beat him at every single Combine drill and measurement,...."but Donovan's defense!" yeah and Edey destroyed him in the championship game

@hamiltopia5211 agreed with clingon but edey should Def be a late first at the very least. You cant teach the measurables, killed it in college which def matters and moved better then most thought at the combine. Too enticing to pass on if your a good team picking late with nothing to lose
Edey is gonna get absolutely smoked in the PnR game. He doesn't block shots and is an average rebounder. Offensively, he doesn't have a reliable jumper so he's limited to playing around the rim. Scouts believe his stats are the product of his size compared to smaller college players.
It's really simple. Defensive anchor is going to be more valuable than a back to the basket center who will be a liability on defense and still has questions about if the offense will translate. NBA teams do not want to run that style of offense for players unless they are next level.
Edey is slow and doesn’t fit in today’s nba . He’s a defensive liability despite his size . He isn’t a 1st rounder lowkey
If the detroit get nikola djurisic at 53 it will be the biggest steal in this years draft for sure or if anybody take him in the 2nd round he has proven more than topic in mega squad as their first scoring option.
He averaged around 15 points, no? Topic 19 and is a better passer + younger, injury concerns are scary and it is is a smaller sample size given that Topic only played 13 regular season games for Mega but still.

Life as a Pistons fan sucks. Not only did we fall to 5 but quite literally every single mock draft has us taking Matas… I haven’t seen 1 single other player mocked to us.
i’ve seen Risacher a few times which would be way better. Ausar/Matas/Duren spacing is horrific

Bulls wouldn’t utilized Collier, Williams would be the better pick. They have too many mediocre forwards and Cody would bring some scoring in that is needed. Especially if they hit the reset button (they won’t 🥲).

I think they're having the Bulls get Collier because the Bulls position of need (center) is in an odd place in this draft. The best centers will be gone before 10 and the second teir centers aren't good enough for pick 11. So all the mock drafts are just ignoring who is picking at 11 and just projecting the player assumed to be the 11th best or so and just shoving them on the team.
If the blazers pick Dalton Knecht it’s gonna feel like to me that they just settled with the safe pick and weren’t even trying to go out and gamble with some potential which I am very hopeful they do NOT do

The Sheppard pick is ok, but don't like the Risacher pick for the Spurs. Would want them to take Dillingham at 4 and Castle at 8. I left out Topic because of his injury concerns
Risacher just dropped 28 points 6 rebounds in the french playoffs with crazy efficiency (5/9 3 pointers, played 29 minutes). Dude looks like a solid defenser as well. I would love having him join the Spurs but I doubt he'll be available at 4 :/.

Uhhhh Bulls best 2 players this year was Coby White and Ayo...both PGs. Ayo plays the 2G. Lavine and Ball and their 62mil in Cap Do Not Play!!! You talking about Memphis made me remember just how stacked the west really is. Already having ELEVEN teams go .500+, now throw Memphis in there and you really have no idea when it comes to San Antonio. They could make trades this summer and even if they dont, young teams all the time take that big jump, and Wembanyama is scary to even think about how high his ceiling could be.

Illinois has 2 Sleepers to watch. Hawkins was the best Big at the combine. And if our 6-7 PGs assault case is investigated and he seems innocent, which, why Illinois let him play this year after investigation. But 6-7 PG, 30ppg in the B1G. Lead Illinois to B1G Championship. Elite 8. UConn obviously beat em but, if they wasn't in the No 1 bracket, they may get blown out by UConn in the finals 😅💯😭. I think 🤔 Nba is higher on Illini kids than the public is

I honestly prefer how anyone could go anywhere compared to other drafts where every parrots each other for their mocks for 30 picks. People actually having to do research is a nice plus.

7:50 Reed Sheppard at the combine was 6'1.75 (without shoes) in fact (with a 6'3.25" wingspan) he's not 6'3 or 6'4 as you think.
12:15 6'2.5 (without shoes) but with near 6'9 wingspan, and so athletic who can shoot (over 37% a 3P) he should be higher imo...

Risacher or topic are going 2 and 3. Topic could fall with the injury. I don't see Houston passing on Risacher if he gets to the 3. They want defense and shooting with some size next to Sengun. They don't need another guard or small wing type. I keep doing Clingan to Memphis at 9. Knecht to the Jazz 10. I think Buzelis is a lock to Detroit at 5. Like Houston, they have centers they like and plenty of guards and small wings. There're tons of great prospects in this "bad draft." I feel like there is going to be a lot of moving around before and during the draft
I'm not deeply familiar with the draft class but I seriously doubt that Jazz would pick another small guard. Organization is very open about seeking positional size. Unless they think Dillingham has true (super) star potential, that would change things.

It's a hard lock. A pick I want to see is Edey to the Bucks. Spend a year with Lopez, could be legendary. I have a very hard time seeing Smith fall to the Jazz at 29 sheesh.

I am almost positive Atlanta won't go Sarr at #1. If you look at their draft history, they always do something that no other team would do. Laitner, Sheldon William, Marvin Williams, Luka, Reddish and a few others. So that's going to throw off the draft a little. Sarr wouldn't get past the Wizards so it wouldn't be a big deal.
Castle reminds me of Latrell Sprewell. I’d take him First. I also like Dalton Knecht as a a scorer and a plug and play pick. Heck he’s better than Jordan Poole at the 2. Wizards should take him.

They could use wings, shooters, and quality defenders, and if Melo’s availability is worrying enough to draft injury insurance wouldn’t you rather just take Clingan as insurance for the equally-injured Mark Williams??
