Love my 1991 E36 325i manual sedan, puts a smile on my face every time I drive it, reliable and practical with the added bonus of being fun to drive and easy to work on. It's impossible not to love a manual 6 cylinder E36 after driving one ;)

Its a good title. My 4 years with an E36 325is a 1992 were a mixture of pure bliss and frustration - but the problems were always solvable with knowledge and proper mantenance. You articulate it so well - proper LSD, not an open diff, RWD, manual gearbox, great engine note from the straight six, increasing scarcity, handsome boxy shape, communicative steering, nice clutch weighting, good seating position. All the right ingredients for a drivers car:)

Lol! I 'only' have the E36 323iA 4d and love it to the max. I even go out to work on my bike in the rain, to save my E36 in the safe garage. Fully original, nothing done afterwards. A joy to drive. Love the sound of that 6 cilinder. Future classic (again) for this wonderful brand.

I have never driven such a fine vehicle in my whole life... It's a keeper and was given to me as a gift by a very dear friend of mine... Even though I have some repairs to do on it at approx. 270,000kl, it has been reliable and has never left me stranded by the side of the road thus far... I love the experience the most and the 6 cylinder engine. My main concern is the engine oil leak that my mechanic advised me about, but I have also noticed that the leak isn't as bad and I get through to the next service atm, without any major issues, or having to top up the oil. My mechanic enlightened me that he will need to strip the engine to locate the problem, which I know will cost the most. My little project to fix. Thank you for sharing, it has been educational and looking forward to seeing more of your vids and learning from them the most. Have a great day!

I own my E36 325TD for about 2 years and I totally love it. Just the sound of the 6-cilinder engine gets me going. But some days are harder when i want to roll down my window and it falls down, when the lock doesn't work or when the roof liner falls on my head. It has been my money pit, changed so many things like revised engine, new windscreen, the back had to be welded, new cabeltree and so much more. But I still don'"t see myself driving any other car for the looks and the feel of the car. I hope I'll be able top drive it forever! :)

One of the, if not the best video from you Gavin. Great content and some fun times included for more than few seconds! I'm glad I know that even if we don't get to see, you are really driving M3 the way it was meant to be driven.
Also thanks for noticing my recommendations last time - glad to see some improvement and I can definitely see your channel growing in every possible way.
There is a couple of things I'd like to mention this time as well:
    1) Content related:
    - You could do some tests - 0-100km/h, 0-150km/h, breaking power, suspension, MPG normal/race etc. How did the car change, what did it lose over the course of time or maybe even do some research and compare it to some modern cars. Prove to these folks that even if it's old, besides its charm it still has that spirit inside which cannot be tamed. Besides that, excellent way you're going and as said keep it up.
    2) Car mods related:
Before anything, I'm sure you know what and when to do, money is important as well but as all of us, most likely you have to spend big chunk of your day doing non-interesting life things. So I'll just write a couple of mods you could do in case you didn't consider them.
    - Brakes - Wilwood or Brembo. They are a bit expensive but when you really drive this car it has to stop somehow and you'd see great difference.
    - Radiator - if you like pressing it, which I'm sure you do, I'd consider having brand new sport radiator or possibly some more advanced cooling tech.
    - ECU re-map - don't have to explain it too much.
    - Performance exaust (please do not ruin it with straight pipe)
    - Underdrive pulleys and engine bushes
    - Eaton M62 instead of AC compressor - something you might not be a fan of, especially when you hear the sound of it but still much more affordable than Garett's turbine or similar. This is some serious stuff and definitely one of the last projects but hey there's an idea if you'd ever like some boost.
Besides that, thank you for sharing this beautiful beast with us. I love my e36 and I'm pretty sure that, if circumstances are met, I will never own any other car. Cheers!

I would say its the best M chassis because the e30 M3 is a rugged race car while the e46 m3 is more relaxed and comfortable but the e36 is the perfect compromise

    • @clitcommander6603
      @clitcommander6603 6 років тому +3

inaamulhaq khan The e30 m3 is gutless ! It's an over agsagurated car. The e36 Euro spec 321hp is the best m car ever made.
Hand built for the most part.
Us spec BMW m3 are iron blocks, better for forced induction.
S54/s65/s85 are write offs at this point. They explode from rod bearing issues.

Treats On The Streets thank you man! You’ve earned a sub! If you ever find yourself out in Arizona for drift and drag look for a grey LS rx7. I’ll let you take a lap. But on the real your video just made me love mine even more!

Does it count my new e36 touring TDS? Coilovers, e46 330d front brakes with ventilated disks, 18" magnesium wheels, short shifter, all electric pack, white leather recaros with heat, dual climate, goodies everywhere!

Can't wait to be part of the club.
Well, technically I am. I bought a '97 325i convertible today with barely 85k kilometres in it, and complete service history. Heated leather seats, 2-zone climate control, hardtop + perfect roof, all stock (yet)... I need the insurance and we're good to go. The story starts here I guess.. I found your channel a few days ago and it helped me very much with making this decision :)

Treats On The Streets Yeah well at this point it seems to be the case :) We'll see on the way. I'm doing a cooling system overhaul and a sports air intake almost instantly :) then i'm planning to do a custom exhaust, but I'm still thinking where I should have it made.

I just purchased a 2004 BMW E36 Coupe for $2,700.00 it looks just like yours except I don't have a spoiler, the seller took great care of it. I love it never thought I would own one. LoL 💗💗 the steering is somewhat stiff .. there are no lights on the dash to indicate something mechanical is wrong. No leaks. Help a sista out

I just bought a 98 328i and I'm in love with it. It's quick it's nimble looks great and gets compliments everywhere I go. 140,000 still runs great. Oh did I mention I only paid $1000 for it? Supercharger on the way...

    • @TreatsOnTheStreets

Great deal for a 328 with that mileage.

@@TreatsOnTheStreets I did most of the maintenance on it the last few years so I'm already familiar with the peculiarities of it (like the oil filter housing) and why she gave me such a great deal. Other than the drivers seat leather split pretty bad it's pristine. Even the trunk or 'boot' looks like it just came off the showroom. I've got 235/45 17s on it and the tires just won't squeal in a turn. Like it's on rails...
