Creator Commentary: Make Love, Not Warcraft - SOUTH PARK
Вставка
- Опубліковано 19 жов 2021
- Co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone joke about the crew spending more time at work playing Warcraft than animating, all the support from Blizzard and the episode's dialogue being inspired by a random hack into the World of Warcraft game servers.

South Park season 24 Stan and Wendy back together please
Did you create south park
I know Matt and Trey are not much for public suggestions but I think they should consider producing the first remake of the film "Metropolis" but with the South park characters starring with all the fun that entails. You guys have enough connections now that you could have a composer write a score that would also be able to be used to accompany the original film whose score is lost. The 16 tons Amazon scenes are so similar to scenes in Metropolis. Imagine...a modern silent film...ala Matt and Trey. think Dr. Mephesto as the crazy inventor, Wendy as the angel of the people/evil robot. Stan as the idealist son of the man who runs it all, his dad Randy, Cartmen as the head engineer and on and on. All I ask for your use of the idea is .01% of the gross. Also if you need a gondola and gondolier for the canals I am your man.
Yes I agree
You should make a part 2 make love not Warcraft that would be amazing
Here's the great irony: Matt and Trey always talk about how much they hate talking about their own work, but I could listen to them talk about this shit for hours upon hours.
I do! A lot of their hour long commentaries for each season is on yt.
Jesus is God 🦁
You can't just come blank to the internet and start boasting yourself, not every personalities are like that.
Some need a stimulus or an interest, that's why way better things come on real life, than on the internet.
Good work. You guys are legendary!!
This was one of the best episodes youve ever made, thank you trey and matt!
Jesus is God 🦁
One of? This is the best one they ever made
Changed my life forever since I impulse bought WOW while shopping for Xmas gifts a few hours after watching that episode. I’m actually very thankful because I loved that 3-4 year window and being a part of that community. I still worked just tail off 12-14 hours a day building a company but when I got home , read to the kids , pleasantries with the wife, then it was raiding 2-4 days a week after everyone in my house went to bed. I loved it and have zero regrets.
@@JimmyBergman7 what about God is Jesus? 😏
@@augustwest5273 while you were gaming I was popping in for some extracurricular pleasures with the wife
So we need to thank a random player that jumped into your server for the best South Park episode ever?? Cool guys!!
Was is Leroy Jenkins by any chance?
Not what they were saying at all.
No you don't. He ruined the game, regardless. He was just some big,old fat guy.
uhmm no, they already had the plot defined by then. This just was an amazing coincidence
We can’t give the sword of a thousand truths to a NOOOOB
But many did later - and the Sword of a Thousand Truths was bestowed to l33t and power leveled noobs alike!
I miss playing Wow, was fun for a long time, having been a casual that would play for a few months then take off a while. It's just so... different. Back near launch of vanilla, certain character classes couldn't really solo things after leaving their start zine. Not impossible - a warrior could just push through, but a priest not likely without at least another person in a group. Now, it's easy - hell a priest could do it better at range before a warrior in melee!
One of the all time greatest South Park episodes to have ever come into existence
Agree
Has been voted the greatest by the world.
Meh
Jesus is God and only way to heaven
@@JimmyBergman7 Please stop.
Parker said he wanted to kill himself after he made this episode. 15 years later, it's one of the best episodes in TV history.
This really is the most iconic south park episode ever. I still remember being in school when it first aired, never forgot about it since then. Thank you so much for giving us so many inconic, funny and entertaining episodes!
When Eric's mom is holding the bucket for him to violently poop into makes me laugh so god damn hard.
“Oh that’s a big boy, isn’t he?”
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
"Mom! Bathroom!"
That is fucking genius man. I'm taking a media course about television and at one point we are learning about crossovers, just last week actually, crossovers between shows and crossovers between platforms etc. So I bring up this particular south park episode as an example of a crossover between a show and a videogame. My professor says that no this parody becuase the guys at wow did not know about it. But look at that apparently this episode was made in direct collaboration with Blizzard. Ha
beat 'em to it
Stick it to him !
lol. Show your professor this video and say; "so you were saying?"
I remember the exact smell in the air when this episode aired. This is the pinnacle of my South Park nostalgia.
One of the best episodes of all time.
This and the Ungroundable were the best. Twilight fans were awful at the time XD.
A foggy, dew-covered morning reminiscent of Spring but toward the beginning of the school year. I was 8 and somehow convinced my grandpop to watch this before school started one day. Then we played together for like 6 years, but on the same account so we'd fight over who's turn lol.
I still remember the first time I watched this ep. I laughed so hard, I was crying 😂. So freaking funny. “MOM… Bathroom” If you know you know! Lol
Yes, shows the dedication of a mother to her child(ren) and their friends. My mother never cared that much when I play marathon Intellivision games like keystone cops.
Ooh that’s a big boy isn’t he
@@danielsproul i hope there's a /s after that
I wanted to hear about Butters playing Hello Kitty Island Adventures!!
RIP the guy who cosplayed him
Jesus is God 🦁

The most legend episode ever……
I was kind of hoping for this to be new commentary, but it's still enjoyable
Their best commentary is still CANNIBAL! The Musical
Its awesome the way you get the episode to work such a very imaginative way. Congrats!
That was one of my favourite childhood memories. Although this is not a kids show, I will show this episode to my future children one day!
I loved this show since it first started when I was the same age as the boys, and I've already made fans of my nieces and nephew!
I’m not sure they will get it though. It’s a funny episode but your children probably won’t know what WoW is, and even if you explain it to them they may not get it.
@@juliandavidhoffer2022 yeah only about 99% kids play games nowadays but they wont understand this highly complex video game satire.
@@imbigpig just because someone plays cod doesn’t mean they will get the WoW references. And that culture surrounding people who play games like this has changed also.
@@juliandavidhoffer2022 just so there is no confusion - i was being sarcastic. And this is also exactly what they did in the episode; clearly explain or express what is going on.
That’s actually hilarious that a guy jumped on their server and the Blizzard guy executed him lmao
And that they had an 'ethical discussion' about it lmao - I mean, they literally setup that server just so they could record this stuff, I think it was OK in this case lol
@@RyTrapp0 no they nott open servers its blizzard alpha server where its happened. i know becosh i wash there that night.
I hope we get more creator commentary like this posted on this channel.
I mean this is just the dvd commentary. You could just search south park dvd commentary and find which season you want to listen to, I'm pretty sure every season is somewhere on UA-cam.
this episode and pandemic pt. 1 & 2 with the giant guinea pigs are some of my favorite episodes
Hey Matt and Trey
Really enjoyed this creator commentary especially regarding this episode! I think you'll find tremendous success posting more of this related content. Looking forward to the next season!
Cheers!!
There are a bunch of these on the DVD’s for almost all seasons
Love hearing Matt and Trey talk about the episodes and the behind the scenes stuff! 👌👌
They did a great job with all their work
I love hearing them laugh like that !
Thank you SO much for sharing your thoughts, Trey, Matt. It's really good to hear you talking about how this was made. Also, love the intro Hehe. Keep it up, fellas!
This is so awesome to hear! Thank you for sharing!
This legendary episode made a lot of people start playing WoW.
I may be bias as a WoW fan and player when this episode came out, but it has to be my favorite of all time. Bravo.
I loved it too, even though I was playing another MMO.
Yeah, you are biased, Butter’s Bottom Bitch was the best episode hands down. Too many nerds love Warcraft, and still only vote for this episode, because of Nostalgia. I didn’t know one person that played WoW for more than 6th months, before they said. “WoW, this is fucking stupid,” and Scott Tenorman is also better, as was Medicinal Fried Chicken. Nerds and people that see Emmy winning episode over the top of that just assumed it must be the best episode when it isn’t even in the top ten, does anyone that has their own life, or didn’t know someone, so stupid, they played a dumbass computer game for years, actually vote on this poll? Nope it was all Millennials, who think WoW is awesome, or really dumb, and it brings back the nostalgic feeling of making fun of those people. All the trilogies and the two Go, God, Go episodes are better than this episode, as is Dances With Smurfs, Casa Bonita, Cancelled, Woodland Critter’s Christmas, I could go on for hours. But hey, live long and prosper you nostalgic nerds that ruined the South Park greatest episode bracket, Matt and Trey’s opinion doesn’t matter, it’s which episode is funniest, not which one they liked making the most.
@@davesmith4839 You do realise that 90% of WoW players hate the game right? And also millenials play WoW? I would argue that WoW has one of the oldest player base out of all the games in history. I have raided with alot of people and half of them was 30+.
Your virginity is safe
@@joco8290 I said Nostalgia, not because they love the game, and unless you were born before 1986, or after 1997, you are a millennial, whether you love or hate the game now. They vote for the nostalgic feelings they have for this episode, either because of the 2 or 3 ppl they knew that were big losers, and never left their home so they could play this game. Because, they realize, “holy shit” I actually did spend that much time on WoW, It was real cool back in the day though. Or because, they tagged “Emmy-Winning episode” on top of it. Nostalgia doesn’t make a good episode. Great character development, a good story, and an ending that ties everything together perfectly, makes a great episode. mlnw has one of those things, a good story. Top 25 definitely, best ever??? What a joke.
They knew they were going to get roasted anyway, so being cool lightened that as much as possible.
this is one of my fav episodes with awesome o and super fun time
Thanks for this, haven't seen the full thing but thanks for this.
This commentary featuring Trey Parker and Matt stone is on the episode, not warcraft (2006) This episode originally aired on October 4th 2006 on comedy central. and of course in this one, The boys dedicate their lives to defeating this mad gamer and saving the world of Minecraft. Happy 24th anniversary to South Park (1997-present)
Thank you Wikipedia

FATALITY
if y’all don’t do more commentary i’m going to spontaneously combust into flames🤞🏻
I remember first seeing this episode at like 2am at my grandparents house during a Christmas holiday. Always think of this one whenever I think of SP.
It’s the most favorite episode
Yes! I can't wait to watch this when I get out of work!
Love this short commentary videos
I watched this episode every day for like 3 months before I finally saved up enough to buy wow and the expansions and me and my friends played for years together and I made a shit load more good friends. This was such a powerful episode and truly one of the best in my opinion. They used full on machinima in wow and it worked perfectly with the standard south park style. The story is funny and perfect satire of wow players and blizzard.
I loved this episode! Best episode ever for me :). It made it even more personal for me because as a kid i watched my cousin play this game when i visited him. And for some reason i loved seeing him playing the game, lmao
We need more commentary for other episodes as well! So funny!
Watched it this weekend, it was really great.
best episode and show ever!
Would kill for more episodes like this
This episode was my first episode. So iconic and such a sweet way to start the show!!!
I put this episode on my ipod in high school and it got passed around my classrooms so much, the workshop dudes loved it, the it kids loved it, PE kids fell in love with live to win from laul stanley. such an absolute classic.
Mr Incredible light: This episode was made with the help of Blizzard themselves!

What? I don't get. I recognise the mr incredible meme, I just don't get the joke on this one.
@@johnnystander3142 Cos the point of the meme is the same thing but in different contexts.
So when the episode was being released, working with a company with Blizzard was a great thing. These days, given their new reputation, not so much.
Still my favorite episode. I may or may not have watered my shorts laughing.
Make one for every episode. That would be totally sweet you guys.
1 of the greatest episodes ever, they gotta do an episode about esports
I so Love SouthPark!
The best episode ever
This is my favorite episode of south park
Awesome episode
almost a perfect peice of art that wow episode
how appropriate, seeing as wow is in the process of imploding upon itself
Best episode ever.
It hit me hard when he said that wow was a great game..
Love these commentary!! Need more. Do an episode of new world!!
Back when game developers were gamers and not just sweatshop slaves
Pls do more of this guys
I watched this SO MANY TIMEs it got me back into Wow over a course of 4 years (2006 to 2010 I think?).
Was right around the time WOTLK came out so it was a good time.
one of the best episodes ever matt and trey you're both awesome pls stay this way🙏✌
This episode is one of the greatest tales ever told from Southpark Studios
I wanted to listen to it again recently lol
Hillarious because one time a player got an item accidentally that did grant deathtouch and started clearing raids super quick. Doing something like that brings a lot of attention so that player got banned.
Love this episode
I never knew that part with the guy hacking their server!!
1:20 You heard it, Blizzard thinks their loyal customers are losers
MOM! More Hot pockets !!
Wow not too early, love that Episode watched it so many times since it came out. Thought this clip was much older. Or is it a reupload?
Death touch😂 Awesome 🔥
"Even Blizzard employees say only losers play this game all the time." Oh 😞
This should be longer!
They only do commentary for like 5 mins per episode because they dont want it to drag out. You can find commentary for pretty much every season on youtube. The south park movie commentary is on youtube too.
Bet you this episode alone influenced most of the Machinima videos that came after this, these guys where no joke ahead of their times in so many ways its unbelievable
This episode specifically got me interested in WoW. And I still play it.
I wish there was a longer commentary about this episode.
By far, the best episode of South Park second to Covid-19 1 hour special and Black Friday wars!!!
It is kind of weird how the Truth Sword is functional despite never meant to be programmed in the game. It is a bit different from like how Pokémon Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Manaphy, Arceus, Meloetta, Genesect, and others are get where you can only get them from distribution events, and are usable in the Pokémon games.
Do you have a WOW account? No...I have a life.
Best episode of all time!
Best show ever need the new season!!
We want more commentary!!!!
Master piece
“Losers!” 😂
Hahaha, that's brilliant.. A random found the creators server's and started playing, only to be killed by the creator's hidden touch.
"That's enough about that, probably.".
NO. Please keep talking.
I've never heard a so long winged way of saying ''We did Machinima'' lol
It's funny how at a certain age you are just willing to grind away. I was born too early for this game. I used to grind for hours on Gauntlet 64 playing the first lvls over and over and over again... till lvl 99.
Green dwarf needs food, badly!
My all time favorite episode❤
"it's been out for like 3 years now"

id love to know so much more about the server they hosted for this episode, and the random ganker that joined didn't make a lot of sense to me rather interesting!
And the winner is.....
Make Love, Not Warcraft
That was not enough about WoW :P I coulda sat here for an hour listening to this
Oh how Blizzard has fallen.
“WOW has been out for three years now”

15 years old. Came out in 2006.
An epic episode
I love this episode...
