Success is NOT built on failure or sadness it’s really built on Happiness ❤and a genuine desire for the best for all people. I’m not sure how to describe how things happen but, I can do a UA-cam video and tell people my story if they really want to know or write it down. But this is true. 10000% I did it on a whim just to see…and man..I’m just glad I did.

This is very true - as soon as I decided on my worthy path everything started to change including my mental health. That coupled with not taking for granted the things that are free that can't be replaced makes a very fulfilling life. I wish I had learned this lesson when I was younger, but that is because we are taught conformity at school. I am just grateful that it's not too late to at least live some of my life the way it should be lived.
I watch this video almost everyday. It really has changed my life. Even though I haven't completed my goal yet, I feel amazing knowing I'm walking in the right direction. Thank you After Skool!
Thank you for this reminder🙏 In 2021 I listened to his speech everyday for 90 days straight very powerful message! Great to see this in art form an 15 min. shorter. Thanks for sharing your gifts in this world you are much appreciated🌎💖🌞
Success is a very individual experience. My idea of success has changed and maybe it isn't only about being financially independent, but finding peace and joy.
Life can become really complicated sometimes and everyone will face major setbacks in their life. Certainly a practical and positive mindset helps alot. Being committed to your goal and being patient is super important.
Thank you so much for all that you do. Even though the videos you share are someone else's words, your platform is so important and makes a difference. I came onto UA-cam with a certain thing I wanted to look up, actually a lost of things and feeling like I didn't have time for all of them already, but this video was at the top of my feed. For some reason I clicked on it, and it was exactly what I needed to hear in this moment. I have been so caught up in being a mom to my young kids, for 7 years I haven't had my own life or goals or direction besides being at home with the kids (6.5 and 3.5 yrs old). I have been lost and confused. I have had ideas along the way of directions I might want to go but got caught up in doubt, and burnt out from having no time to myself and not doing anything to fill my own cup. So I keep giving in to the doubts about what direction to go in and whether I can really sustain something if I make a commitment to it. I was uploading lots of hypnosis videos on my UA-cam channel for a while but with homeschooling my autistic 6.5 yr old and having my 3.5 year old also home with us I was so swamped and wasn't sure if it was really making a difference. More doubt. I have put it aside and not been doing much of anything with it. Today was feeling particularly bad with barely any sleep last night. This video just made it so clear and gave me the reminder I needed, right at the time I was most receptive to actually taking in it's significance. I have no goal, no greater purpose, and so I feel lost and confused and am being buffeted around by the crashing waves of trying to manage my kids and home and putting out fires as they arise, I reactivity. I have heard countless times and known how important it is to have a purpose. But I have felt scared to committ to anything and always had excuses because I just couldn't land on what it was. But when I really looked at it while listening to this, it is so clear that everything stems from the lack of a greater purpose. And also seeing how big of an impact this video has had on me, has helped me again with quelling some of the doubts I have had about my own channel, feeling like there are already so many people making hypnosis videos and talking about the things I have talked about jn my videos. But the more videos are out there, the greater chance one will reach someone, and the different methods of delivery will appeal to different people, so every voice is important. Thank you again!! 🥰💖🙏🏼
As a philosopher who disagrees with the other philosophers the narrator mentioned, relying too heavily on thinking is a trap in itself. Our inner guidance is not only in the mind. It is in the deepest reaches of ourselves that the brain does not have any access to. There are those who are intensely goal-driven who think that failure means forcing harder than before. So they force and force and yet for some reason, the universe doesn't grant them passage. And though the effort they exert in pursuit of their goals is gargantuan, success in the greatest sense eludes them. The mind wants to steer the ship, but it's the soul that has the map, the compass, and the strategy. So the people who succeed the most consistently in the long game are those who have learned to quiet the mind through meditative practices and other forms of stillness, in order to listen to the murmurs of their inner universe instead. These are the people whose inner knowing gives them the faith that they will survive the journey, the courage of clear purpose, and the perseverance to recognize failure is a vital step along the way.
I was thinking along similar lines. Action, in my experience, has been a means to become conscious of what is. If our thinking goes against "what is" what is will always work within us to make itself known through awareness.
''fixation'' glues the worries into cohesive matter.....fixation glues the love and confidence ino cohesive matter..... if our ambitions are centered around something we continue to worry over, then we will acheive much to worry about...... :)
Totally agree, this is what we have learned since he said this speech. The mind cannot override emotions, it is imperative to learn to process the things that get in your internal way of your goals. You can’t muscle your way out of fear, doubts, it’s much easier to learn the other law of processing emotions and using them as guides toward your successes, whatever they may be. Mind emotion must work in tandem, not against one another
100% true?...I must respectfully disagree. Positive thinking is a valuable component but unfortunately believing and thinking positive alone is unlikely to actually manifest into reality.
@@jfudd5870I don't exactly agree with the video, however, old things die to make room for the new. We can't stop change. With that in mind we can't expect all people to always behave as we ourselves.
No it's not, it's utter garbage! The only way it's possible for those 5 people to be financially independent is if those 95 people are not. Capitalism is a game of Monopoly. Everyone starts equally. Only 1 wins, everyone else goes bankrupt. Not understanding that is ignorant. Thinking you can change or influence it, is delusional.
The best afterschool video ever, mind blowing and great advice for everyone. Your mind is a powerful tool. Please do not waste it on things that don't matter to you. Your life is mainly 2 things simply put, effort, and time. Use them wisely to achieve the goals and life you want. It can be done one step at a time.

@@JohnDoeagtfdyutasgdjak I have a degree in research psych and used to mod things. I got my start as a tester and made my way through the producer / writer ranks... then designed after that. It's a lot of hard work, but rewarding. The best way to get in is to make a mod a current game or make a gameplay demo with Unity or Unreal. Some guys get their start reviewing games, too. If you can explain why a game is entertaining or frustrating, that's a good start. Now, colleges offer game design courses and majors. So you can learn there, too. There are even some mini-boot camps where you can learn iphone back end programming in like 6 months.

This speech by Earl was an incredibly eye opening introduction to the power we hold within us to craft our reality with The Creator. I say this from personal experience where I’ve spoken my reality into existence by just reminding myself daily of how I wanted to live my life. This in turn, allowed me to align the actions and the choices I made to be in resonance with the ‘reality’ I desired to experience. Sending everyone here peace and blessings on the journey 🌊
I had this realization in my teens but my own experience of life is that things that are bigger than you, that you can't control dictate where you are in this world.
@@curtiskretzer8898I think you need to know that you shouldn't abbreviate the verb "to have" when it means "to possess something". You can only abbreviate the auxiliary verb. (i. e "I've been paid.", but "I have money for them.)
Of all my failures in life, it is realizing what it is I want from it, that troubles me most. I seem to fully grasp the concept, scream "eureka!", and then lose sight of it. A grand sense of devavu plagues me each time I rediscover this most basic, yet deeply profound notion. It's as though I can't be positive enough to believe it really is this easy to change your life, your circumstances, your state of mental health. I feel like I haven't truly figured it out, that only through anguish, suffering, internal turmoil, and despair, will the answer be fully realized. Almost, but not exactly, as though, I somehow deserve this. That only through the misery, will I truly grasp the deeper meaning of life. Which is, I guess what I want more than superficial happiness... A deeper, no, the DEEPEST..... level of understanding. Thanks Earl. At least I know WHY I torture myself so.....
Sometimes we like to think that what we've achieved has been solely based on our own merits, "I went to college, I worked hard, I failed and persisted", but you know what? everyone else is also working hard and YOU were the one with rich parents, you were the one whose family had good connections, you were the one whose parents gave them critical skills. Your hard work was not THAT important. Accept that you were lucky and be grateful for it, and don't look down on everyone else

often we have to experience the down spiral to get to a place where we know we must change. it always starts and ends with ourselves. whatever we have experienced we must learn when to jump. truly listen to this again and take the real steps to change. then it will
I had a bumpy start too. But, then I set a big goal and gave myself time to achieve it. I got a real "high" when I met that first big goal, so that really spurred me on. Yep, I agree with this, and there's one big challenge once you want to implement this in your life. It's not so easy to really know what you want and what is good for you. It turns out that a lot of desires you have are in fact social or family conditioning, and if you achieve them, they might even make you miserable. So, the real challenge is maybe not really to achieve something, but to truly find the goal that is aligned with your life's purpose. Thanks for this video and I wish you all the best!
I liked his statement about the importance of goals. This worked for me. I set goals with exact dates for final achievement of them. They were 5 year goals, on the theory you cannot achieve great things quickly, because you will experience short term failures and obstacles to overcome in order to meet really significant goals. Goals like: educational level, buying your first car with cash, buying your first home, fully paid-up home, high dollar amount of savings and investment, exact retirement date, and more. You have face the fact that, here and now, success is measured in dollars and property. These two things will make you comfortable for sure, and happy if you share it in some way.

That coupled with not taking for granted the things that are free that can't be replaced makes a very fulfilling life. I wish I had learned this lesson when I was younger, but that is because we are taught conformity at school. I am just grateful that it's not too late to at least live some of my life the way it should be lived.
Loved it! Shared with my son.
I watch this video almost everyday. It really has changed my life. Even though I haven't completed my goal yet, I feel amazing knowing I'm walking in the right direction. Thank you After Skool!
This is worthy to listen to. I been listening to Earl Nightingale for 17 years
Thank you for this reminder🙏 In 2021 I listened to his speech everyday for 90 days straight very powerful message!
Wonderful! Thank you! Read this book in my 20’s. Hugely helpful in my success journey (which I am still traveling!).
My favorite "self-help" lecture!
one of my favorite channels!
Let's goooo! I'm so glad you made this video. Earls message is still so relevant today. Thank you for updating it to fit with our modern world!
The Connections (2021) [short documentary]
Amen 🙏🏻 hope to all watching this and may all your dreams come true ❤️
I've actually heard this talk repeatedly on youtube. Thank you so much.
Finally! This speech needs more recognition. You are really making a difference!
Too money focused. Stupid speech.
70 years old, but more true today then he could imagine
Absolutely love this video! So many gems to learn from
As a philosopher who disagrees with the other philosophers the narrator mentioned, relying too heavily on thinking is a trap in itself.
This is the same thing
''fixation'' glues the worries into cohesive matter.....fixation glues the love and confidence ino cohesive matter..... if our ambitions are centered around something we continue to worry over, then we will acheive much to worry about...... :)
Totally agree, this is what we have learned since he said this speech. The mind cannot override emotions, it is imperative to learn to process the things that get in your internal way of your goals. You can’t muscle your way out of fear, doubts, it’s much easier to learn the other law of processing emotions and using them as guides toward your successes, whatever they may be. Mind emotion must work in tandem, not against one another
one can never become a buddha by trying. trying is karma. yet we must still do our best to never be a buddha.
So glad you guys did this. This is all 100% true
Why pile a dirt hill to climb when you were born on the mountain? 😉 Think on it?
No it's not, it's utter garbage!
The only way it's possible for those 5 people to be financially independent is if those 95 people are not.
Capitalism is a game of Monopoly. Everyone starts equally. Only 1 wins, everyone else goes bankrupt.
Not understanding that is ignorant.
Thinking you can change or influence it, is delusional.
The Connections (2021) [short documentary]
The best afterschool video ever, mind blowing and great advice for everyone. Your mind is a powerful tool. Please do not waste it on things that don't matter to you. Your life is mainly 2 things simply put, effort, and time. Use them wisely to achieve the goals and life you want. It can be done one step at a time.
a classic ; ive heard this dozens if not hundreds of times , just as good as it ever was , i dream of a time when this isnt as necessary as it still is today
Brilliant
I grew up listening to Earl Nightingale & Paul Harvey 2 fantastic men the world could surely use nowadays.
I'm a video game designer.

Absolutely! All of my siblings and I are learning this :)
@@hiphipjorge5755 Yup. Chase your dreams!
Thanks for rubbing it in.....
What school did you go to? I’ve been making games as a hobby since I was 12 (I’m almost 21 now) and I want to turn my passion into something I can make a living out of, but I don’t know where to start.
Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway

Wow! I usually don't go for titles like "time", "success", "do-this-do-that"... but this was an awesome message! I'm glad I watched it! Thank you!

I feel you... my intuition encouraged me to click on this video and it was worth it
Thank you for making this video it’s amazing
This is so wise and it makes so much sense. My life is shifting towards great things since the moment I understood all the power was on my mind. Thanks afterskool!
It’s amazing how true his words are today. I found my own path after being in the corporate environment for 20 years and became a teacher.
I continue to learn and to work towards my goals.
Too many people don’t, and become like the shadows with their phones.
Absolutely Love Uncle Earl 💜💜💜👍
I listen to this most days, and this version now helps me to better involve my children.. Thank you
I LOVE The Animation You have done here!! Brilliant!!! GREAT JOB!!!
Just what I needed!
I had this realization in my teens but my own experience of life is that things that are bigger than you, that you can't control dictate where you are in this world.
They would say how we've "bad attitudes".
@@curtiskretzer8898I think you need to know that you shouldn't abbreviate the verb "to have" when it means "to possess something". You can only abbreviate the auxiliary verb. (i. e "I've been paid.", but "I have money for them.)
Always stand up if you don't think something is right even if your the only one standing, you never know your courage could lead others to do so
Of all my failures in life, it is realizing what it is I want from it, that troubles me most.
What a deep and resonant voice
I’ve listened to this talk dozens of times. I’m glad you animated it and shared it with the world so the message can reach more people 👍
Sometimes we like to think that what we've achieved has been solely based on our own merits, "I went to college, I worked hard, I failed and persisted", but you know what? everyone else is also working hard and YOU were the one with rich parents, you were the one whose family had good connections, you were the one whose parents gave them critical skills. Your hard work was not THAT important. Accept that you were lucky and be grateful for it, and don't look down on everyone else
A buddy let borrow a briefcase that had numerous cassettes of Earl Nightingale in 1986 - it changed my life ❤️
Earl nightingale has great discussions, always worth clicking videos about his talks
This goes with a thought I've been having a lot lately, the importance of livinh with intention. The go-with-the-flow mentality hasn't taken me anywhere but intentions have
Been listening to this message for over 20 years, every time i hear it , it gets me going.
Earl Nightingale once said " it's better to illustrate your point while make it" thank you for such illustration
Even having known this forever, I still managed to yield to despair and have achieved a steep downward spiral. Crazy huh? Gonna bookmark this and listen to it often, try to pull out of this dive.
Gonna bookmark this and revisit it
often we have to experience the down spiral to get to a place where we know we must change. it always starts and ends with ourselves. whatever we have experienced we must learn when to jump. truly listen to this again and take the real steps to change. then it will
I had a bumpy start too. But, then I set a big goal and gave myself time to achieve it. I got a real "high" when I met that first big goal, so that really spurred me on. I'm old now but have plenty of wealth, a great family, and spend a lot of time helping others...my final goal. Go for it!! Goals work.
@@Partysize2 Nice! I'm a bit too late and too sick to achieve that degree of security or ability to help others as I'd like to, but I am so very blessed to still be here, have great family and friends, a genuine love for God's every creation and the ability to sometimes give good council to those in need of it. If I died today with an overdraft I would still die a wealthy man!🙏🏻

You are a true genius and talent! Masterfully renedered! Your skills in storytelling and illustration are beyond!!! Much love to you and please know that from artist to artist “ we can see your talent and encourage you thank you
Absolutely 💯% powerful & very poignant and is true even more so today.. than when he originally recorded this! Thank you for the wonderful illustrations bringing life to the things we may not ordinarily be able to pay attention to & absorb as much. I know for myself.. it's easier to absorb & RETAIN the information when there are visual cues. My mind goes at. Break neck speed with so much.. so this makes it easier to slow it down. As opposed to fighting against a constant stream of intrusive thoughts while I'm trying to pay attention. 🙏❤️👏🖌️🎨🖊️✍️
I always listen to this every morning, so glad I did.
Crazy youre covering this video. I actually have it saved and listened to it almost daily months ago. Ill go back and watch it. Thank you.

You missed the important part which is goals and looking at what people want in the job you want and go and get those skills. That's the hard work
@@cashkitty3472 no you missed the point,... because who said you had to work for somebody else? and the real work is done in your mind, the only hard work there is is remaining discipline to the goals you set and remaining firm on the beliefs you create, action that follows is simple, if you're following your dreams and aligning with what you truly desire it doesn't feel like work
