I started a US 1890 campaign last night, and geeked out spending 8 hours getting it to early 1896. 😆 I got somewhat blessed by the research gods - all the small guns up thru 6 inch are Mark 2's, Mark 2 10 inch guns, Guncotton and White Powder, Coincidence I rangefinder, Nickel Steel armor, Torp Protection I, Induced boilers and Multiple Expansion engines, Hydraulic Steering, and 16 inch torps.
Just a few bits and bobs, might use it if you want. :) I just noticed the crazy amount of gun sizes on your B - it simulates adjusting fire according to splashes in the water but if you have similar calibers it's confusing, hence lower accuracy. Also if you really need to turn like crazy, there's a manual rudder (that part on most right controls). If you wanna see the major nations coloured you can click on that paper/parchment icon left from Help in Top Right. The AI has strange TBs. Just for comparison: I usually have at the start of the 1890 game: ~31kn speed, 1x1 3in, 2x1 2in 2 torps (1 per side) and engine eff only ~60% (which is kinda max you can get anyway without any tech). 21:10 shame on you just rushing to that TB like macho and getting blaped by a torp. You can set an division to Retreat so you don't have to care about them and they'll try to run away from combat - better to try to save them than risk them to get sunk. Not to mention merge or divide/detach them - I usually play with it as I don't like AIs choice most of the time. Oh yeah you can set for any division to Avoid torps automatically (number 2) if there are more than 1 ship in there.
I thought it was just main calibers which did this , not secondaries ? There is that rudder yea, they removed it a bit ago but now its back OOO i didnt see this, ill have a gander Iv seen it where the Ai has Torpedo boats with 3 or 4 on the first ones ! , mental Yea that was a mistake but oh well, it survived XD I wanted it floating about still, hopefully i could have got some lucky shots in, even on a heavy list , you never know, wanted to see also how much it could repair/ get the water out
@@MoisTeaGaming yeah, the manual rudder was there, then was removed and it's back. The automatic Torpedo avoiding is better than nothing - you cannot watch them all. The pressed Ctrl while trying to create a design lets you create some crazy stuff, especially later in the game.
@@azirus i think the lead ship still doesn't avoid torps though ... something to consider but your right, you cant watch the all XD just listen for the sound more than anything ! ill be playing with that this afternoon i reckon
You ended the war with Spain too soon in the first go around-which is why they refused to give up Cuba. And you're apt to have ended the second war with Spain too early to grab Cuba - try asking for the Philippines .....
