Somewhere out there is an outtake from Search For Spock with him doing Jim Ignatowski in full Klingon costume that is laugh your ass off funny.
I met him at a convention in Orlando about 4 months ago and he's a really great and wonderful man and I always admired him as a kid. I told him the first movie I saw him in was Roger rabbit and liked him in star trek 3 and the back to the Future franchise. I asked him how long did it take to get into the Klingon make-up and he told me about 4 in a half hours to put it on and about 2 hours to take it off. But meeting him was something I always imagined as a kid and it was a wonderful experience. Christopher Lloyd is a legend and a figure of masterpieces and it was so great to meet him.
He was even in Mr. Mom, too.
Better Thanos' way of asking for the reality stone than Kruge's way of asking for the Genesis device 😤😤😯😯
He’s so low key. You’d expect him to be full of energy. Seems to be a very humble man.
The interviewer brings up one of my favorite moments from Reverend Jim: A Space Oddity at 6:19. On the 3rd or 4th time Jim asks, "What does a yellow light mean?", he has to look down after "What does" because he can't remember the remaining 4 words from this simple 6 word sentence! Glad to see Christopher got such a kick out of it. It was probably his contribution and a brilliant one a that.
Glad they talked about the "What does the yellow light mean" for those that never saw it, you missed one of the all-time funniest scenes in TV history. Some years ago Taxi reruns were on every night late. I remembered Laughing at the scene so loud, Year later I was in bed and heard the taxi theme music as my teenage daughter was watching the show. I couldn't hear the show but a little later I heard my daughter with much laughter and just knew what she saw. The next morning I asked her "were you watching the "What do you do at a yellow light " on Taxi last night? She broke down in laughter while we talked about it.
He didn't blow up the Enterprise, Captain Kirk did by executing the destruct sequence, to keep it from being captured by the Klingons.
He also didn’t specifically order the death of Kirk’s son. That happened after a struggle for a disrupter weapon.
Kruge was the reason why Kirk had to blow up the Enterprise, to prevent Kruge and his crew from taking the ship.
@@alienlife7754 Kruge did order 1 of the 3 prisoners (David, Saavik, and young Spock) to be killed which led to David intervening in what would have been Saavik's death and then he himself was killed instead.
Jim tasting Latkas Cookies "Cocoa Leaves. Southern Peru. 74 before the rains. Poignant, but not overbearing." - My top 5 TV comedy scenes ever.
Christopher Lloyd doesn't have the best memory but I'm so glad the interviewer really knows about his career. My favorite part is when Christopher says he was in Star Was, its actually Star Trek. Close enough!
That's old age.
Wow!
Well now he's been in Star Wars too. He just spoke too soon. :D
He's been in both franchises now (He was in Star Trek 3 and he was in an Episode of Season 3 of The Mandalorian).
What a great movie, great actor.
There was a kid in my high school who knew Klingon. He once wrote an oral report in complete Klingon and read it that way in class. It was hilarious. He turned in an English version to the teacher. Lol.
Easily one of the best Klingon warriors ever
Kruge ( Cristopher Lloyd ) and Gowron ( Robert O’Reilly ) are my two favorite Klingons from Star Trek.
he didn't kill Kirk's son, he ordered him to be killed, also didn't destroy the Enterprise, it was destroyed deliberately because it was disabled, and his entire crew was boarding it, thinking it was in better condition than his own ship.
Plus he could use it to enter Federation space unfettered. At least for a while.
Hands down one of the best villians:)
Totally, Kevin Parsakia. Thanks for watching! I hope you'll subscribe. Best, David
Fortunately for me, I hadn't seen "Taxi" before I saw ST III in 1984. Had I done so, I would have had trouble buying him as Kruge. Nimoy originally wanted Edward James Olmos for the part, but the studio said he was too short.
I had seen Taxi before ST III. The thing was, the audience didn't recognize Christopher Lloyd right away. Including me. It took a few minutes. Once I did, I started to chuckle. So did a lot of the audience. It was surreal. We all recognized him at around the same time.
Karen Session it was the voice the audience recognized! And I remember the audience’s reaction as we all seemed to recognize that voice at the same time.
So, have either you noticed John Laroquette on Kruge's bridge?
@@redshirtveteran5688 Sure did. I disagreed with his character's belief that he did "not deserve to live." But perhaps he didn't, because he wasn't seen again after the Bird of Prey escaped the Genesis planet.
@@soylentteal I seem to recall a version of Voyage Home's script that featured him testifying about Kirk's crimes. Obviously, not the final one.
When he talks about the Man on the Moon movie, Yes. Jim Carreys performance as Kaufman was A calibre on that one.
Starts stalking about Star Trek at 14:10
Thanks
thank you click saver person
OMG the episode where Jim goes to get his license... I forgot how good Taxi could be.
Get to commander kruge!
Best Klingon ever. Thank you sir.
The video was worth the free toy at the end.
Would love to meet him.
Love the toy!
I'm not sure why Kirk remodeled Christoper Lloyd's Bird of Prey. The bridge from star trek 3 to star trek 4 was completely different.
the best klingon period
I read that James Doohan helped to creat the Klingon language.
Additional information:I'd make Kruge in star trek III like the Thanos, Chang (Star trek VI)crossover. There there
Great actor! If there’s ever a movie about Johnny Depp vs Amber Christopher would be PERFECT as the psychologist person who licks his lips and says Marlon Brando doesn’t an earpiece since he’s gone. Lol😅
In none of his scenes in Man On The Moon did Lloyd speal. I often thought that, gad they alloweed him to talk, they would have had to pay him more (not because of his demands but because of Equity laws).
8:22 andy kaufman
14:06 star trek iii
Listen at 1.25 Speed, moves better
: Lucas Haas should play him in a biopic.
Kirk took Lloyd's ship
Great interview! But...ahhhh I'm sorry, I hate to be that guy...Mel didn't direct that movie.
If only I'd give my one on what Captain Kruge was supposed to be like. He ain't any good to the franchise. Doing Back to the future stuff on Sir Christopher Lloyd, now how's that for him!
The interviewer does such a poor job of drawing him out. Asking "What was that like?" is a terrible question, and he asks it over and over. The questions needed to be much more specific, especially with an interviewee who doesn't seem comfortable with the process. Contrary to what Levin says in the intro to this part, Lloyd didn't really warm up at all about Taxi, and offered very few specifics, appearing to be very vague and not forthcoming. Which makes me wonder whether he didn't really want to talk about it.
speed it up too 1.25 sounds good
Best advice ever! 🤣
that theme music HAS to go
It's a classic!
Taxi was another show, much like WKRP In Cincinnati, that fans loved but for some reason the networks hated. I never understood how the a network could look at a show like Taxi and not think it was great. Idiots.
My god, talk faster.
Try listening slowly.
@@georgemorley1029 I did, that's called sleeping.
Hideous subtitles
This is really bad.
